This review os highly subjective

... more>> Before we get into the actual review, let me first explain what the story is about so you'll have a general idea of the plot.

Plot :

One day, people all over the world started experiencing strange symptoms, nausea, dizziness, and extreme fatigue. When they woke up, they realized something had changed: they had transformed into the characters they used to play in a popular virtual reality game called Siofan. Around the same time, rifts began tearing open in the sky, not just in Korea, but all across the globe. These rifts seem to be connected to some otherworldly space, and from them, monsters started pouring into the real world. Even worse, the rifts themselves appear indestructible, and modern weapons barely do anything to certain monsters.

Now, I know it might sound like a typical "gate + game system" setup at first, but trust me, this author actually takes the time to explain things. Crucial details aren't brushed aside or waved off. As more people awaken as their in-game characters, the "Players" are left to defend against the monsters. Old Guilds from the game are revived and start operating again to combat the threat

though, of course, not everyone is eager to fight.

Now, let's talk about the protagonist. Instead of waking up as the character she played, she ends up becoming the hardest, most unbeatable boss in the entire game, the kind that never got defeated, no matter how many raids were launched against her. And this transformation wasn't random either. As the story progresses, mystery elements slowly begin to unfold, and we start to learn why she turned into that character specifically.

At first, she chooses to stay out of the spotlight and live quietly. But, of course, that doesn't last long. She gets discovered, and that's when the real story begins. She's cold, ruthless, and doesn't hesitate to eliminate anyone who tries to harm her. But despite staying neutral, she still has empathy. She clears out monsters when they're around her, not out of duty, but simply because she can't just ignore the danger.

The Guilds play a huge part in shaping the world and keeping the chaos in check. There are also thse "Stage Bosses, " powerful in-game bosses like the protagonist herself, who seem to exist outside the normal system. And it turns out, she's not the only one. Some of the others didn't end up with her same neutrality, a few clearly have darker intentions.

I'll be honest, the beginning is a bit slow since the author is carefully building the world, laying out how society reacts to this new reality, and hinting at how everything connects. But once the first arc wraps up, things really pick up. I'm not spoiling anything, but let me just say this: that one annoying girl? Yeah, she gets exactly what she deserves around Chapter 20. The protagonist doesn't mess around. And her downfall actually has weight, it changes the story and pushes the MC into the world's spotlight. Some start seeing her as a threat, not because of anything she's done, but simply because of who she is, the most infamous boss from the game, now alive and real.

Review :

This webnovel really surprised me in the best way. Right from the start, it showed a lot of promise. The way the author builds the world, lays out the power system, and introduces the monsters and organizations feels very natural. It doesn't rush anything, and you can tell the author put effort into making the setting feel alive. Compared to their other works like The Sealed Necromancer and Strongest Witch, this is definitely their best one so far. Their writing has clearly improved, and it shows in how the pacing, narration, and character development are handled. This one really feels like a proper story, not just something thrown together for fast updates.

The protagonist is one of the strongest parts of the novel. Watching her adjust to her new powers and slowly figure out what to do with them is genuinely interesting. She isn't just handed a cheat ability and becomes perfect. She experiments, thinks things through, and even questions herself sometimes. And yeah, she might contradict herself here and there, like saying she doesn't want attention and then going out to kill a boss monster, but that just adds to her depth. It's not that she's clueless, it's that she's human. Maybe it was excitement, or maybe it was her way of saving lives quickly. Either way, her actions feel believable. She's not your usual selfless, heroic type either. She doesn't spare people who intend to harm her. She makes sure they're gone, for good. That ruthless side of her makes sense, especially in a world where weakness can get you killed.

What I really appreciated is how the story doesn't limit itself to just Korea. The author actually explores how the global stage is changing after the invasion. It's not something you see often, and it makes the story feel way bigger than most others in the same genre. You can feel how the balance of power is shifting, with Guilds slowly taking over and governments starting to lose control. It's not some throwaway "ten years ago, a gate opened" backstory, it actually feels real, like the world is falling into a slow-burning apocalypse.

There's also a good amount of tension under everything. The MC might be insanely powerful, but even she knows she can't fight the world alone. Just her existence is enough to shake up the world powers, and even if she says she wants to stay neutral, people aren't buying it. And honestly, I don't blame them. That constant pressure, people watching, waiting for her to make a move, creates a real sense of suspense. The story doesn't shove "urgency" in your face, but you can feel it creeping in more and more with every chapter.

And then there's the mystery. By Chapter 28, the story starts dropping hints that there's more going on with her transformation than we originally thought. That deeper connection is slowly being revealed, and it makes you want to keep reading just to figure it all out. Plus, the idea that the real enemy isn't the monsters, but humanity itself, is really powerful. At first, it doesn't seem that way, especially when most of the Players are using their powers for good. But once the wrong person gets power, things fall apart fast. Arc 1 makes that very clear. Power really is best suited for those who doesn't craves for it.

After Chapter 25, once the first arc wraps up, the story picks up fast. The Guilds start moving. Countries get involved. And you just know bigger things are coming. The premise might sound familiar at first, but it becomes more and more unique the deeper you go. It's the kind of story that keeps getting better as you go, and I genuinely hope it becomes something great. It really deserves it.

CONS :

As much as I like the story and believe in its potential, it's not without its flaws

  • There's no clear overarching goal in the story. While the world is under invasion and chaos is clearly spreading, there's no strong central objective or storyline that everything is building toward. The MC is powerful, the world is shifting, but there's no solid direction. Sure, she doesn't want to be a puppet of the government or a typical selfless hero, and that part is fine. But at the same time, the story feels like it's just flowing from one event to another without a big, defined goal. It doesn't ruin the experience, but it leaves you wondering: "Where is this really going?"
  • The pacing is painfully slow at times. Some parts of the story are dragged down by way too much internal monologue. The author often drops huge paragraphs of the characters thinking or over-explaining their decisions, and it just breaks the flow. It's a common webnovel thing, but even then, the author could've trimmed it down or made it snappier. There are chapters where not much happens because of how long that character is just standing around, overthinking everything. It's not about being picky, it just makes the reading experience heavier than it needs to be. It's not really a major flaw.
  • The government barely exists. Even though they're mentioned here and there, you don't actually see them doing anything. No police, no military activity, no official response teams, you'd think they vanished after the gates opened. Even if they're not useful in combat, they should still be shown doing something, organizing evacuations, managing information. They still exist in the background, but they lack impact currently. But right now, it feels like they've been completely brushed aside, and the world is just moving on without them.
  • Her choices don't match her words. If her goal is peace and not being disturbed, then she should've stayed quiet and only used her powers when absolutely necessary. Going out and acting in public so soon kind of defeats that. It doesn't ruin the character completely, maybe it was just a case of excitement, or an impulsive reaction to her new powers. I mean, if I suddenly had the ability to create ice out of thin air, I'd probably test it out too. But still, the writing could've been clearer about her intentions to avoid confusion.
  • The first arc might turn people away before the story even starts. The real plot doesn't kick in until after Chapter 25, and many readers might drop the novel before getting there. The early chapters focus more on the worldbuilding and personal reflection, and while important, they might not be enough to hook impatient readers. For those who find that "SolSol" girl annoying, don't worry, that b*tch*ass annoying brat is taken care of, but her death has an impact to the story, so she's not really just there pis off readers.
PS. I suggest reading it till Chapter 25 before dropping it. It's currently trending in novelpia, that's why I found it. 300, 000 views in a month, with only 30 chapters. That's rare

Sometimes, it's better to just enjoy the novel instead of nitpicking every little thing you don't like. I get that some reviews (mine included) can be overly picky, but I try to stay as objective as I can. If I genuinely enjoyed the experience, then I'll give it a positive review

flaws and all.
