A lot of fighting instead of asking questions. I get that some situations can be resolved more simply if you kill everyone, but shouldn't underground organisations prioritise intelligence a little more? And I'd get if it was one of them – the protagonist is set up to be one among an organisation of mad dogs after all. But almost everyone acts like that, just to keep drawing out action scenes.

Otherwise this is probably one of the longest flashbacks I've ever read. Or maybe the prologue was meant as a flashforward,... more>> although I personally don't consider that good writing either.

Has some potential and it's not terrible in general, but overall it just feels like heaping on too much of the same stuff when it comes to people fighting (especially while injured), explaining the power, and furthering the mystery of the organisations and his background without offering much substance.

The whole premise of standing out as a mad dog against a background of "regular" people seems lost. Perhaps part of it can be regained later in the story.

If you don't mind shutting off your brain and like reading about people beating up (or cutting up) each other, with what seems like it'll develop into a harem in between, I can recommend this novel. Otherwise it's good enough to be a filler but not worth deep attention. <<less
