If I don’t want to live as a pregnancy machine that only lays eggs, I must evolve these crazy demonic beasts by any means necessary.

Story Summary:

The protagonist finds herself transmigrated into a strategy conquest game as the Queen of the weakest mob faction. However, she soon discovers that, thanks to the player's enhancements, her faction is actually a hive mind capable of modifying their bodies and evolving indefinitely. As she begins to tap into this potential, she also learns that there are other players like her, forcing her to grow stronger to survive.

Personal Review:

... more>> I'll keep this short and to the point.

Pros:

Interesting Premise: The concept of a hive-mind protagonist in a strategy game setting is unique and has a lot of potential. Expansive World-Building: The story introduces a large and detailed world with plenty of elements to explore.

Engaging Battles: The tactical and strategic aspects of the fights are well done and can be enjoyable to read.

Cons:

Plot Conveniences: The protagonist often gets exactly what she needs at the right moment, which takes away a lot of the tension.

Wasted Potential in Some Mechanics: Some interesting mechanics, like gene stealing, get introduced but are quickly overshadowed or barely mentioned in later chapters.

Flat Antagonists: The enemies lack depth and mostly serve as generic obstacles rather than engaging threats.

Lack of Tension: Since the protagonist becomes overpowered too quickly, there's little sense of struggle or urgency.

Unclear Goal: The protagonist's objectives feel vague, making the progression less compelling.

Repetitive Later Chapters: After chapter 60, the story starts feeling like a rehash of earlier events, making it a bit of a slog to get through.

Too Strong, Too Fast: As a hive mind, the protagonist should have started off weak and gradually gained power, but instead, they become overpowered way too quickly.

Overall Thoughts:

The novel has a solid concept, but the execution falls short in key areas. While the battles and world-building are decent, the lack of tension, repetitive storytelling, and plot conveniences drag it down. If you're looking for a better-written hive-mind story with a more complex evolution system, I'd recommend reading 'I Am The Swarm' instead.
