What I expected: Cute villainess raising time.

What I got: Existential reflections over the state of industrial revolution England and a somewhat realistic storyline about patents that I couldn't care less about.

Why is a Korean author subjecting me to this? I could humor the setting but instead of spending time with the titular villainess, the MC spends most of his time being a borderline s*ave to a male professor.

I get it already! You Koreans are totally traumatized by the graduate program or whatever, can we move on? Please! This is incredibly... more>> off-putting since the professor can actually brainwash the MC and treats him like a real s*ave. I'm not quite sure what I'm reading here. Perhaps we should follow the adventures of professor Magni instead, sheesh.

There is however some potential, the villainess plotline is nice and interesting since she has some cool abilities and intellect, as long as MC can make something out of his life it should be a fine time... But nope, nope, nope. Not recommended <<less

The story takes place in a world where the hero and demon king su*cided together. The world is kind of advanced in a way where a motor is a world changing invention but there’s no air conditioning and child labor laws. Basically think of it as American during the Industrial Revolution except super powers.

I’ll be frank, the translation is iffy at best and the title of the novel isn’t going to happen until like chapter 20 or 30 probably.

if that sounds interesting just know the translation doesn’t do it any favors as it’s incredibly stale and confusing. The novel also feels incredibly nihilistic with it spending a lot of time talking about the terrible working considering of the children, patents getting stolen and the upper class being extremely greedy and living in riches while the poor barely living. <<less
