Becoming an Extra in a T*ash Game

I can’t accept that my favorite character’s ending, for which I emptied my savings, is a bad ending. If it’s come to this, I’ll grab fate by the collar and drag you to a happy ending. Enough with being a tragic protagonist. It’s time for you to experience the hard-carry of an over-immersed otaku.

Is it worth reading?

If you're a fan of tr*sh of the Count's Family, you're gonna love this novel too! If you're unfamiliar with TCF, this novel is more about adventures, character growth, camaraderie, and team battles. So, if you're in the mood for that, then give this novel a shot.

What I liked about this novel:

  • Despite being transmigrated to a weak and untalented body, Adelian (the MC) uses his head well. He is sly, cunning, and calculative, yet caring towards his allies. He's not the type of character that's full of justice and eager to save the world & everyone. He's more of a morally grey character. I like his role of being the supporting characters' caretaker, mentor, backer, and brain of the party. The party members, regardless of age, are literally like kids to Adelian. Their interactions are so cute and endearing.
  • Adelian has a Master's Degree in the Art of Manipulation and Scamming XD It's funny how the scheming enemies think that they have Adelian in the palm of their hands when in fact, it's the other way around.
  • The way Adelian, Luna, and Kane always eat meals together and even share some of their food with each other is heartwarming. And as their party grows, this "custom" continues.
  • The relationships between the characters are developed well. Their bond and trust in each other gradually grow stronger as they face tribulations together.
  • I like how overprotective the party members are towards Adelian. They also wish to become stronger to be useful and help Adelian with his goal.
  • There are occasional POVs from other supporting characters.
  • Pacing is good. It's not too fast, yet not too slow.
  • The teamwork among the party members in battling enemies is satisfying to read. Each member plays an important role during battles.
  • Characters are fleshed out. They have their own unique personalities and quirks, which make them memorable to readers.
  • Supporting characters are given enough screentime about their power growth, character development, battles, inner thoughts, etc.
  • I like that the author narrates the little stuff that shows how close the party members are, their interactions with each other, and their personalities. Like when they use candies as currency when they play games or gamble among themselves (it's cute and it seems fun). Plus, their occasional secret meetings, excluding Adelian, that were meant to be a gathering to discuss Adelian's well-being, their worries about him, and how to be helpful to him, but eventually became meetings of just talking, complaining, eating, or just having fun. These gatherings became a tradition.
  • The gradual revelation about the relationship between Adelian and Kang Soo Ho, the true identity of the living god, the reason behind the living god's goal, and the truth about the original novel or game 'Innocent Saga' where the MC transmigrated into is done well. At least to me, it didn't seem abrupt. And the mysteries & conclusion weren't prolonged unnecessarily.
  • Although not perfect, the worldbuilding was done quite well.
What I didn't like about this novel:

  • Narration is more on tell than show.
  • Infodumping
  • Too many details & descriptions about foods (I'm just not a fan of this)
  • Translations are a bit off at times.
  • Battles are so-so. They're not thrilling or exciting.
  • There's a lack of action, so it kinda became boring midway.
    Spoiler

Since Adelian and his party were able to successfully foil most of the living god's plans and the future disasters, there weren't many battle scenes. By c373, Adelian and his party are preparing for the all-out war against the living god. To me, it felt more like a preparation stage from the beginning to the latest update, which almost made me drop the novel cause it bored me, but I still pushed through cause I like the characters. If it wasn't for that, I would've dropped this novel long ago.

Inumee here, as u can tell, I'm a fan of hollow knight and just waiting for the silksong.

For the review of this novel, it is an interesting one that keeps getting fun.

The main protagonist is a go getter that understands the process though I feel this will end up being a Kingdom building novel, my zeal to keep translating is higher than ever. Hope you stayed tuned and continue reading this gem.

Peace ✌

I'm really liking this so far, probably since its pretty similar to tr*sh Count.

MC is smart, funny, and kind. Unlike the tr*sh Count MC, this MC openly shows his affection for his teammates quite often through small gestures and skinship and I find that very endearing. Also, imagine if Cale thought of his all of his teammates as his kids, not just Raon lol.

Also, if you're into the Japanese Isekai quirk of describing food and meals in every detail possible, you'll probably enjoy this too since eating good food is... more>> MC's biggest hobby so far (other than spending money). <<less

It is a good read with a long term potential that has not yet fully been realized and story is not exactly fast but not slow either. Main protagonist is smart enough to lay foundation for the future and the side characters and their interaction makes for a heart warming session.

There's ton of emotional and strength based growth for everyone as even the MC is kinda crazy.

Great read and I recommend this.

This novel is quite long, hopefully it doesn't get dropped.

The story seems to move moderately, not too slow, not too fast. Interesting aspects keep popping in once in a while and MC seems competent but I tend to prefer protagonists who have a moderate amount of strength not just a bum commander.

Only wish he actually acquired some hidden piece or something that is only for himself.

Side characters are pretty fun especially Luna the rabbit. She's the highlight.

Kinda of reminds me of count's son or something. The story takes the usual pace of I want to help the MC get a happy ending and ends up executing it well.

MC has the typical arrogance or pride trait that most nobles have to keep the transmigrator's acting in check but seems to still get flustered in some situations.

Interesting for now and will continue reading it but it still smells kinda like an harem but only time will tell.

Thankfully no harem. I like harem novels as much as the next guy but kind of fed of the same academy stuff that makes it seem K-authors have some kind of formula for their harem. MC is competent enough and uses his game materials well. At least as much as those Psychopaths that seem to know how to do things without even having experienced anything. Story has a steady pace with fast progressions. Overall, seems to have a good intro for now

This novel has some great executions. Vey few novels can pick up interest and hold it well.

The supporting cast has some interesting actions going but most importantly, he is not some overpowered idiot that forgets stuff and says ohhh.

Spoiler

MC is the kind that learns from his mistakes and his crazy sister makes it the more fun
