This novel is not just good. It’s a masterpiece, it explores very complex relationship between HIV, policies, freedom of media, and love freedom. The first story will likely to make you depressed but the second story will make you appreciate the one who comes after.

The realist portrayal of gay world and relationship between Lin Ze and his love interests (and his childhood friend) are something that I’ve never seen in BL novels. The author is very smart, he drops hints and words about certain events that when you reread, you... more>> will view the novel from an entire different perspective.

Warning!!! You will cry like crazy, and the pain following this novel is something that will follow you for a long time. Although I’ve read angst from Meatbun and MXTX, nothing prepares me for the angst come from this novel. It doesn’t help that this is based on true story. The novel is also very critical of Chinese political system, which I also never see any author dare speaking up in their novel. And I want to get more of Lin Ze and Situ Zen so much. This is a feeling I’ve never felt since teenage years, and it drove me crazy.

It warms my heart that Feitian (and the MC) donated all the money earned from writing this novel to HIV community in China. Please consider reading this if you want to find something good reading and consider purchasing the novel too. <<less
