Yan Chi was an orphan who had scraped a living together. One day, he received a job offer from a school—high salary, good benefits—and immediately packed his bags.

On his first day, one of his students died in a classroom brawl. Yan Chi fainted from shock, and the principal rushed him to the infirmary.

The next day, the supposedly deceased student apologetically appeared to apologize. Yan Chi fainted again, and the principal reappeared as an ambulance.

By his nth day, Yan Chi was unfazed by the students’ bizarre behavior.

A student died? No problem, they’d resurrect themselves.

A student resurrected someone? No problem, he’d bury them again.

A student’s plant killed a cow? No problem, the student already gave him a new one.

The students weren’t human? No problem, he was.

Later, Yan Chi discovered he wasn’t human either. He sipped his goji berry tea, calmly remarking,

“No problem; none of them around me are human.”

…A rumor circulated in the infinite game: the bosses from different instances knew each other, were classmates, and attended a school inaccessible to players, a school from which all bosses graduated. Players who had unfortunately stumbled upon this school still recalled it with apprehension, “We couldn’t beat those mini-bosses… it was a dead end… but their teacher was nice. To survive, you had to cling to the teacher’s leg.”

One day, two infinite instances merged, and players were driven to tears by the bosses. Suddenly, two bosses huddled together, and the players overheard their conversation.

Boss #1: “Finished your homework? Let me copy it.”

Boss #2: “No way, the teacher will check.”

Then, the two bosses started fighting.

Players: ???

Short Scene:

One day, Yan Chi suddenly found himself in an unknown world. Those around him told him he was in an instance, and he was unlucky—a super S-class instance with a terrifying boss; no player had ever cleared it. Therefore, they were doomed. Yan Chi was terrified.

When the boss appeared to hunt, Yan Chi was surprised. “Are you xx’s parent? Your child failed this exam. This is a good opportunity to discuss his issues.”

The boss turned and ran, “Teacher, you’ve got the wrong person!”

Really frustrated to be only giving this story 3 stars cause I really liked the idea and it very nearly worked.

An infinite flow game from the perspective of the "NPC" monsters who are real and have families. I thought that was really good. Also the author highlighted the bad behavior of some players, not just to NPCs, but to their fellow players, using them as cannon fodder or experiments to figure out how to survive the "games"

Also the author gave an explanation for the infinite flow world that fit into... more>> the framework of the story and a way for players to leave the infinite flow without the usual leveling out stuff.

The problem was... everything else. I don't know if it was the translator, or the author, or both but the story after the first few chapters got quite confusing. Reading it felt like there were huge chunks of writing missing, sometimes whole chapters - I'm certain that the repeated sections, increasingly sloppy name spellings and untranslated lines were the translator's issue - but several times I was clicking back and forth to make sure I hadn't missed anything.

MC talking to his father-

Dad: Well you know that best friend of yours that died was actually a piece of me.

MC: What??? He was you? My dad?

Me: WTF??? The best friend is dead???? He was alive a few chapters ago and a regular human! Where'd all this come from???

Dad: I can resurrect him for you.

Me: Please do because I have some plot questions.

ML: Do you remember Player A and Player B that hate the Termite Organization? Well they want to help set a trap to lure out the members.

MC: Oh yeah, I remember them, great!

Me: What? What? Who? Where did they come from??

ML: Don't worry, I sent my nephew to play next door with Kid A and his dad.

Me: When the hell did Kid A's dad move onto the school campus and start living next door?

Look a school variety show with zombies doing the bunny hop and monster kids trying to do a dance number. MC and ML are in first rows with teachers and some parents. Best friend is helping with the dance number. Players are in the back row. They've come to ask one of the teachers to return back to the player world.

Me: Where did this scene come from? The best friend made it to the school? How does that work? Why are there players during the day? One of the teachers is a player??? Did I miss a chapter?

The whole second half was like that. Plus the end was

a time rewind - which I consider kind of a cop out ending. The school, kids, teachers, and retired players could NOT be recreated the same for the MC when he "grew up again" because the rewind made major changes to the entire world.

My feelings are conflicted, not sure if I’m going to rate. We have an all-powerful principal ML who’s down bad for the MC the moment he sees him and a MC who is the typical kind, sweet-hearted and gentle type... Which appears to be a fluffy story with a twist of monsters and the infinite world. If done right, this could be an emotional but also meaningful story of uncovering MC’s identity and the relationship between monsters and humans in the infinite world.

Believe me, the author tried. I just also... more>> think they failed. Everything is so contradictory. MC is sweet and kind but can also look on as humans die apathetically..? Can adjust to his partner and students being monsters in the blink of an eye? Characters do hold dimensionality in a way, but I don’t think the author did enough world building to support that dimensionality.

The author also frames humans as the villains to the kind hearted monsters who kill only for “revenge, ” but not much backs that up and we end up seeing a lot of indiscriminate killings. It’s almost as if the monsters are gods and the humans are ants that only deserve small specks of kindness here and there. It feels... jarring to read frankly without proper world building. And to see the MC adapt to this so fast even though he’s lived in a human environment so far despite not having any character building is also off-putting.

Otherwise, we see small hints of development of other characters, like their tragic backstories that involve their powers or humans, but just the light-hearted nature for such serious and honestly dark topics do not blend together as well as they should. The idea was excellent though. <<less

Really good slice of life type of story with horror elements, it’s more of a childcare story without having the side character children be overwhelmingly dumb or cutesy or anything, they genuinely feel like children here. Moreover, each of the children characters actually have a distinct personality / setting rather than just being “cute” or “kid”. There’s also no relationship drama either, the main leads get together pretty smoothly. It feels more like a regular dating relationship if anything (the ML is not the overbearing type)

The first chapter matches the tone of the description: kind of silly, light-hearted, and already planting the seeds for many misunderstandings.

The pacing seems to be quick in that, with just chapter one, it's already introduced the MC, the ML (the principal), and the main setting (both from the MC's perspective and a general one, taking on POVs of passerbys and possibly reoccurring characters, additionally sewing in clearly the misunderstanding from both sides). But it's not quick in the too fast way that would harm the writing, more like an efficient... more>> stroll.

Rating 5-Stars for now. :) Thanks for the translation! I look forward to reading future chapters. <<less

It's cute. A horror instance but comedic romance. The horror instance portion is in the background tbh.

MC is great. The setting is funny with monster students lol. The romance starts within the first few chapters and honestly it's cute. ML falls in love at first sight basically. We just get MC trying to be a teacher to these non-human entities (who are apparently the same age as him in terms of non-human ages lol). We get some backstory for the MC.

The side characters are pretty funny in an outlandish type... more>> of way. <<less

I just finished reading and I'm not sure how to describe my emotions right now.

Spoiler

I'll start with the beginning, I was super excited and hyped because this is a new and exciting concept, I was expecting it to be leaning more towards 1st half MC being a teacher and 2nd half of the story being infinite flow themed and unconditionally sweet romance.

Halfway through the novel, it turns out quite different from what I expected, yes MC is a teacher and he's really kind, but from the synopsis I perceived him as more of a calm-bold character, more like Xie Tao (mc's childhood friend) the development of him finding out about the abilities are quite different from the synopsis, if I'm being honest I had an impulse to "pause" the novel.

Toward the ending, my emotion is actually quite neutral, no overly sadness, no happiness for the ending (it's a HE), it was more of "Oh it's over" sudden realization, cuz it didn't feel like an ending to me, the whole thing of reversing time and everyone receives a happily ever after just comes so suddenly that my emotions didn't have time to react.

When the final arc started it built up no tension to the story, the "Termite" supposedly the villain had no clear goals and literally were just there to make some plot. Li Xian (Li Huai's dad) is like that "character who haunts the narrative", at least the author tried but he felt more like just a cause and effect that you forgot.

But as to why I rated it a 5 star, I actually would say 4.5 but rounded it to 5 for a higher rating since I actually did enjoy the novel, it was the engagement and comedy as well as some characters for me because I started this 3 days ago (for context I'm a really slow reader who prob reads 4 chapters a day when unmotivated).

I'm too lazy to type the rest so to summarize, I wanted a s*upidly funny novel where everyone likes MC and the world just basically goes there way and there are no hardships that can't be easily overcome, ml's personality is actually what I've been dreading for days, someone who treats his lover above all shows him only the best of himself but gets easily jealous and is extremely possessive, though it's quite a lot of red flags I only consider it red when it's unrequited love and they hurt the MC (physically or mentally, accidentally or purposefully).

I really like Xi Chang who a cute little fish and Li Heng, I don't know how they ended up together though cuz I read from a pirated website so I couldn't find the side stories. So I'm sure everyone had a more conclusive ending there.

I also enjoyed each of mc's student, they are defined and not all "super smart and super strong with same personality" they have their own stories and personalities that are more lively than Li Xian's dead gray hair. I do wonder if Sesia and Tan Mo got together and how Xin Xia would react. Did Fu Qin reunite with the Shen family and what happened to Chu Xi?

Very cool concept that works pretty well. Like the description, MC works at a school where the BOSS's kids go. It's a very wholesome story that revolves are the kids and the Infinite World. There's not much horror or gore involved, since it is a novel about school life. The main plot is about how the players who are treating the world like a game causes damage because they would target and kill NPCs for their special abilities thinking they aren't real anyway or destroy worlds thinking the system would... more>> just respawn it again to normal. These actions lead the natives (the horror monsters) to hate players and the system as it has caused them to lose love ones. MC being a 'helpful NPC' allows the players to connect with him more and eventually see that NPCs are not robots, they have their own personalities and feelings. The romance is nice and sweet. It's not a drawn out process where there's a lot of misunderstandings and courting. ML liked MC the moment they met (sort of love at first sight) and MC like his looks before falling for him. We don't see them go on long dates or anything but they are very much in love and have an old couple sort of romance.

MC's background

Spoiler

MC's father is a SSS boss who's power was the world would bend to their will. His thoughts would become true. Because of this, he became bored and eventually developed depression (and maybe other conditions). Due to his mental unstability, he didn't think able to take care of MC and give him the care he deserved. Thus, he researched orphanages and gave MC to the best one he could find. In addition, he gave MC a same age playmate that would never betray him and could be trusted (not a split version of himself but using his powers). MC grew up in the human world and didn't know about his monster side until he got to school.

[collapse]

I do think the world building is good and the characters are pretty well fleshed out. There are a couple around the middle where I got confused about but that's mainly because the names changed a bit and the players keep popping back into the story. The ending seemed a bit rushed. We were building up to solving this big organization and hidden boss that could counteract all the horror bosses' powers so it felt like a bit of a lead down without a huge fight scene. Everything got done in the last 2 chapters. <<less

I love the premise but the story was a bit fast paced. It didn't feel rushed but could have been a lot more fleshed out.

It's a slice of life from the MCs perspective as a teacher, that happens to be in a fantasy setting where people have different morals. The non human aspect was more so just long life and supernatural abilities. There was some drama and bloody scenes but not much.

If you came here for the romance, it's not much. More so a added bonus to the story. The... more>> couple is sweet. ML confessed very early on and MC agreed for seemingly no reason? They spend the majority of the story together in a supportive relationship though which is nice.

About the ending, the whole thing felt anticlimactic and disappointing honestly. It could have been better.

I will say, this story by no means is bad, it just left me unsatisfied. <<less
