There's quite a heavy emphasis on the 'comedy', if you could call it that, of this novel. Like most superhero stories, this is quite light-hearted and not really meant to be taken seriously. The protagonist's so-called goal is a loose guideline at best, and the schemes are excuses for one or two chapter plays, which is nice.

This part would be 4/5 or 5/5, depending on how well-versed you are with superhero tropes, and how much you like the 'villain obsessed with hero' flipped on its head.

This novel was pretty good until chapter 24 were it does a backflip of a building with a bomb strapped to its chest while shooting itself in the head.

This is yet another story were some author could not stop themselves from being a complete degenerate no matter how much it destroys the entire story.

The Mc's likeability was completely reliant on him just killing villains and not seriously harming heroes (unless they were corrupt). Mind, he was still pretty villainous but not unlikeable about it.

Simply, the author clearly thought the scene would be funny.

It most f*cking certainly isn't.

Yes, readers have a bias towards main characters but that does not mean you can just randomly out of nowhere have them act like complete pieces of sh*t and just expect it to work out. <<less
