“Don’t always look at him. Please also look at me.”
Chen Qing Wu believed that she would marry Meng Qi Ran in the future—
Both of them were childhood sweethearts and were very close.

On a Friday, Meng Qi Ran’s band performed, and Chen Qing Wu took a midnight flight to support him.
Meng Qi Ran was drunk, and the one who went to pick him up was his brother Meng Fu Yuan.

The eldest son of the Meng family was serious, reserved, and taciturn.
When sitting in the car and working, he wouldn’t even give her a smile.

Chen Qing Wu always felt that Meng Fu Yuan might hate her.

Until someday, Meng Fu Yuan went abroad on a business trip and brought her back a set of porcelain made by a the grandmother of a friend as a gift.
Such thin porcelain was wrapped in five layers of soft shock-proof packaging and transported thousands of miles back without any damage.

It was too much trouble for her to unpack, let alone for the one who packed it himself.
A ridiculous thought suddenly occurred to her: it can’t be that Meng Fu Yuan likes me, right.

Later, when the two families got together, Meng Qi Ran wanted to propose, but when he searched all over for Chen Qing Wu, he couldn’t find her .

No one knew that in the study on the third floor, Meng Fu Yuan was kissing Chen Qing Wu’s ear, telling her with a deep voice to be quiet.

Meng Qi Ran was the turbulent wind when she was 16 years old, the butterfly she caught and released.
Meng Fu Yuan was the silent abyss when she was 26 years old, and the snow that grew old together in her life.

ML's sacrificial spirit is decisive in this one. And so is FL's courage, and so is reciprocation.

The relationship is not one-sided. Flawed characters are well-written, and the romance is well-executed. I love that the gap of excellence between the leads is not that significant here, unlike other stories with the same premise where ML always has the upper hand and you just have to know it every other paragraph.

In this novel, Meng Fu Yuan and Chen Qingwu shine equally, they are equally flawed as the other is. They are hopelessly... more>> human and not a caricature of a perfect man or woman who does every single thing perfectly. They have strengths, weaknesses, insecurities, and shortcomings like any other person.

If you're hesitating to read this, I'm assuring you that this is a well-written novel that wouldn't have you thinking that you wasted your time.

Enjoy reading! <<less

Absolutely amazing story! now I myself am someone who steers away from love-triangle tropes much less one between sibling BUT this novel has truly never made me regret a moment. The romance is just so delicious, so perfect and SO SO SO right that I couldnt be more satisfied.

I love how well the characters are portrayed especially the decent depth of the 'ex'. I felt sad for him because what he and the FL had once couldv'e been so beautiful. Like the ML said, he understood why she fell for... more>> his brother-he was a free spirit and illuminated the darkness like a little sun (maybe not the EXACT words but in the same context) but it was that exact free-spiritedness that made the ex loose sight. He may have expected her to wait for him, never considering that she wouldnt. that shes give-up. that she'd move on and end what they had.

I think the concept of timing in relationships is well represented. I also believe that the ex loved her very much but only realized he was in love with her too late. I think he also represents the many males who make amazing friends, otherworldly bestfriends, amazing sons/family, inspiring role models etc but when it comes down to being a lover/partner-they just suck. Especially the kind who were previously very good friends.

I spoke too much about the ex and yes I truly felt sad for him but I didn't for a moment think that the ML is unworthy of the Fl. They have a beautiful dynamic, I feel like they were made for each other. Their lives mesh so well, their personalities, their needs... they're just the puzzle pieces that fit toegther. His love for her and how their romance progressed is just *chef's kiss* there's an appropriate amount of everything.

I felt extremely satisfied reading this... and oh god their chemistry once they get together.... ooohh lala all my romance girlies will LOVE this.

please believe me and give this a try, its totally worth it! Mtl'ing thsi is also terribly easy <<less

Nice writing and a what should be fun/sexy premise but is an actually very oppressive suffocating read with MC and ML both biding their time and not speaking clearly to their families. It's probably more realistic but definitely not fun to read and that atmosphere just permeates the whole book. The 2nd ML is annoying and clingy.
