“The eyes should be like Reizen’s, the nose like yours… and the lips like mine – that’s the grandchild you shall bear.”

Three years ago, Melissa was a young lady of a fallen duke’s family.

She chose to be branded a mu*derer rather than be sold into marriage after marriage, but the Emperor, who was known for his obsession with beauty, wanted her to breed with his bloodline.

“One is a mu*derer, and the other tried to kill their partner. So wouldn’t it be safer to bind them together with ‘marriage vows’?”

Through this marriage, the woman who most wanted to die gained life.

“Your Highness, if you agree to this marriage, your future political life will become difficult.”

The illegitimate prince who pursued power had his wings clipped.

Melissa felt guilty towards the man who was suddenly forced to marry her.

‘He must despise me.’

Once, she even begged him to kill her.

But the man’s answer was cruel yet kind.

“I’ll give you a new punishment.”

“……”

“Live. That’s what you must do from now on.”

I agree with darlene_16. I was looking forward to this, waiting for every chapter but little did I know I would be so disappointed. I usually don't rate a novel I haven't finished yet but the way I actually felt betrayed, I had to. It started off nice and I actually like how the story was going. Despite having the same arranged marriage plot this one incorporated other elements that would make the story interesting and not dull. Honestly, the dynamics with the ML and FL were quite refreshing. The tension and chemistry between them was 🤌🏻 so I liked it AT FIRST. BUT until the latest chapter I read, oh please author went on to give ML a change of character,
Spoiler

He literally 🍇 her when he knew better! His mother was a victim of SA too so why tf did he do that when she said NO. That was my last straw! Reizen you were charismatic but no I don't like that. The way he even left her so soon in the morning after doing such an atrocious thing. Truly obnoxious!

[collapse]

FL is a pitiful character coming from a fallen noble family with trauma encroaching upon her due to the past marriages that were forced on her by her relative and now she's been accused of a mu*der that she didn't even commit so she seems hesitant to open up since she had been quiet for too long. She suppressed her thoughts but she's trying to speak up especially if the person who she's talking with is the ml. The ML isn't that bad either AT FIRST, I was honestly expecting worse (well, he did turn that way) but he's unexpectedly likable AT FIRST (yes I am truly disappointed I should've known better since he rly doesn't communicate well and his red flags started to accumulate) despite having a taunting first impression, but so far he became a complete dickhead. He'd be gentle then be rough, and the pattern continues.I'll drop this, I can't continue further. This had so much potential but dang save the girl from the horrible men in this story

To be honest... I really liked the beginning first 30 chapters it felt like re-reading “How to Get my Husband On My Side” again. Thus, a FML who lives in tragedy but was able to seek solace in the ML that was supposed to be her enemy, but healed her wounds instead.

It was great, emphasis on the “was”. But just as the FML was starting to gain independence and a sense of vitality, all of a sudden the ML turned into a prick that just continued to allow misunderstandings KNOWING... more>> how fragile and insecure the FML is. Sometimes even weaponizing those insecurities during their arguments. One moment he’ll be sweet and then the next he’ll push her away. Talk about 1 step forward 3 steps back.

It may be too early to judge his character now, but the author lacks the ability to even have readers root for him anymore after building him up so finely. <<less
