“Can I Not Be Brave” tells the story of taking the subway to school every day, always leaving home half an hour early. Every morning at exactly 6:00 AM, standing at the same entrance of Line 8, waiting for the same subway door to open, then sitting in the same window seat, closing their eyes at the same time, and listening to the same singer’s voice playing from their MP3.

The same route and the same habits allowed Yu Zinan and Su Jingran to silently etch each other’s presence into their memories.

However, a suddenly uncovered secret strips away all the beauty they had cherished for so long.
