A novel with an interesting concept and premise but execution leaves much to be desired. I also realized that the author seemed to frequently use s*x scenes as filler chapters. The MC is a h**ny teenager with a tinge of naivety but it's fine since he is a rather interesting character. Decided to drop because the plot progression is rather slow and each arc is unnecessarily dragged.

Castle of black iron has a very slow start and the beginning shows the gradual growth of the MC. Somewhere down the middle of reading this you’ll begin to feel sick of reading it. But you should continue cause it’ll start to get good again in 100 or so chapters. The ending unlike other novels is actually pretty good. It doesn’t end abruptly or has a crap ending that make you wonder why it ended.

Honestly, don't bother. The author takes all the satisfaction out of the reading this novel. At the final 10-20 chapters of the novel, the MC gets a massive power-up which made him one of the strongest; if not the strongest being in the world. However, the way he handles his enemies is terrible. All he does was appear suddenly right in front of his enemies, tell them that he's going to kill them, and then just does the deed without taunting etc. What the heck is up with that?! There... more>> really isn't any satisfaction in reading that! Especially considering how his enemies had tormented him and his loved ones all these while. And all he did was just go "I'm going to kill you" and just kills them. I would have given this at least a 4.5 rating if the author wrote those parts differently, but honestly, reading 2015 chapters just for that end is complete bull. Would not recommend even if you had to be quarantined for a decade from virus outbreaks. <<less

Not gonna lie, it kind of looks like the novel was cancelled or something like this, lol. A lot of things left open, and the author clearly showed that their world/strength was nothing special too, as both his cultivation method, the little tree and the black tower are things of higher level than his world (and are previously “defeated”, in some way, so bigger forces and enmities).

Still a 4 cause I think the author was forced to leave it like this (and it could have a lot more chapters).

I enjoyed it very much.A novel where te MC isint bland he has a personality, he starts as a h**ny teenager who wants to get laid to a man who has to bear the weight of a family and the expectations of a country or the world by the end, his hardships the women's that he spends some time but knows its not forever. Im honestly annoyed with this novel sometimes.

The author makes the MC lose his powers (or some parts of it) multiple Times duringe novel just to postpone the story development. Thats very very anoying because the development is slow af, 531ch. And he still is considering weak. And then those time skips, if there is something I hate most in novels are s*upid time skips. And yes I read a little spoilers and some ch ahead I now there will be even more time skips... Ok Im out. A shame because... more>> its ratcher good and has almost no plot armor I was suprised about that. <<less

The story is in a post-apocalyptic world where most of the techonology has been lost. Knowledge such as mental arithmetic, breeding animals, and teachings in one's way of life are deemed as "secret knowledge" which must not be shared openly. This in turn made them walk another path where they focused more on cultivation.

The MC is in his puberty which explains why the first few chapters were mostly described in how one thinks his age. Tall, sturdy, and piston movements are few of the examples one would find here. It... more>> isn't that bad to be honest.

The side characters on the other hand are one-dimensional. Even his best friends are in this category which makes the story really dull. The first girl he wooed gives the same feeling even though her point if view was shown.

What puts me off isn't his obsession in girls (most guys are the same) but in how the author changes from "telling the story" into a second-person-point of view. The way he "tells" the story is already bad but the writer was not contented and actually starts a paragraph where he directly gives more explanation by y adressing us through "you and your". It's appalling.

It is not a great story. I would rate it 2.5 if possible but it cannot be done so I'll round it off to 3.

Do I recommend reading it?

= I'd say 50/50. Read it like smelling a passing wind. <<less
