Now the monsters in this story are pretty SCP from the get go they interesting rules and it's just pretty fun as the main character finds out how to survive it all as the town for some reason all of a sudden now can't figure out how to survive which is pretty dumb NGL.

The main problems will start to show up around chapter 300.

First of all don't expect good romance because you ain't getting it in fact the MC basically doesn't care for women at all besides 2 quick one night hooplas. The story also loves to introduce characters that will completely become irrelevant the next chapter so be aware there will be no indication for this and also might tick you off a couple times.

Now there's a pretty annoying problem that makes the rest unbearable which is essentially this is a chinese novel. So color me surprised when you start getting more and more monsters that frankly are s*upidity OP and can destroy the world within seconds but also the monsters are getting stronger too despite the constant reassurance that without food the monsters die of starvation yet there is apparently no food for them to eat because everyone is dead so that doesn't make sense... Also there are zombies because of course I guess? Honestly it's more of a side note only once is it actually a problem and then everyone gets super duper strong and the cool system this whole thing is about becomes basically irrelevant and a way for the author to go oh yeah MC is stronger than this op monster thing now and oh yeah china #1 America bad! Yes like most Chinese light novels that for some reason bring up America and of course Japan and tr*sh on them.

Somehow despite all of this the author changes the story and decides actually the apocalypse only recently happened instead of the implied story of it being like a hundred years later. Which means the characters spontaneously gain Chinese national pride and somehow despite people living in actually crap shacks if they don't live in one of the only two "fortresses" they still have a functioning country? As does America and Japan? Which if that was the case you would think they would be more willing to band together but oh well. They also at one point criticize the leaders of their government with "they still want to rule like before all these s*upid idiots turhur" or something like that.

another problem is that the cool abilities and spookiness of the original still fun to learn about monsters quickly completely evaporate as in the author literally claims they were all killed off and so only the older ones without those abilities exist now which is BS the author just didn't want to make the necromancer MC have interesting monsters... Oh yeah he spontaneously turns into a necromancer which at least as far as I've read is a pretty worthless ability in his hands up until now. Probably because his main ability of upgrading stuff gets heavy nerfed where everything take 30 days to upgrade and the MC can't have one day where they aren't litterly under siege by another big group bad guys. Oh yeah just a heads up the story is great at subverting expectations as in the author will imply something might happen... Then that character gets their head chopped off or f*ck off to who knows where and get eaten.
