During the period when Yin Mengxi was betrayed by her career, she unexpectedly reencountered the failed romance from her school days.

The former Senior Xiao had now become Professor Xiao. The only thing that hadn’t changed was that he still quietly appeared in her camera lens—his hands, which had spent years turning the pages of books, were as elegant as ever, just like the pure heart she once harbored while secretly admiring him.

“Have you ever done anything in your life that you regret?”

She lowered her head and asked the question mechanically from her interview script.

The person across from her fell silent, as if lost in deep thought. After a moment, he replied, “Yes, I have.”

She raised an eyebrow. “What was it?”

“That semester, I shouldn’t have given a girl a C,” he said honestly, looking straight at her.

[2]

She knew it well—this man’s eyes only held the brightness of sunlight after rain and the beauty of spring. He was never like her, chasing fame and fortune with greed and worldliness. Yet, when she fell, he reached out his hand to catch her. At that moment, his eyes carried the vastness of the sea under the rising moon, brimming with both expansiveness and tenderness.

If you’re tired, take a little nap.

My love,

Spring has already arrived.

A very frustrating read.

From the other reviews, I thought this would be a sweet and touching novel, but this was hardly that.

20% reconciliation, and 80% of this novel was just reading about the FL being paranoid and insecure, spiraling herself into a break up with the ML. It was an accurate and thorough characterization of an immensely insecure young girl in college who is poor and unable to reconcile with the mass class imbalance with her lover. However, this part took up about more than half the novel and frustrated... more>> me to no end. If I were ML, I wouldn’t even know how to put up with her.

Because the novel is in FL’s perspective, we don’t know why ML is so devoted. It seems like other than being a perfect academic and handsome man, he doesn’t have any other characteristics. I’m not even sure why he’s so devoted to FL and how he fell in love with a junior girl like her in the first place. FL is well fleshed out, but he isn’t.

They get back together in the end, but the sweetness only happens a few chapters before it ends. The only reason they got back together was because FL is no longer that young little girl who gets jealous and insecure and doom scrolls late at night, for the better. (FL was the problem. She was the problem the whole time.) and their reconciliation wasn’t very fulfilling either. Time heals all wounds I guess. <<less

Ahh ahhhh it’s such a good read! I found a shiny gem hidden beneath the low ratings. I think the low rating probably came from people who aren’t really into this kind of trope. BUT. For me? Unrequited love, secret crushes, pure love, rekindled passion after years, like fine aging wine?????, it’s honestly the BEST combo ever. It’s delicious, delicate, and just soooooo fine ✨️

I love how the author tells the story—the way the plot gripped me, made me feel the heartache and happiness of a young maiden... more>> in love. It brought back that feeling of pure, youthful love. The struggles were realistically portrayed,

Big thanks to the translator too, amazing job on a beautiful translation. I’m absolutely in love with this novel and totally recommend it to anyone who enjoys this kind of emotional, romantic journey. If you’re looking to relive that feeling of youthful love mixed with mature depth, try it! You won’t be disappointed~ 10/10 <<less

It was soooo good! I hate long separations but this one was so good that I overlooked it and it was also necessary. The FL had sooo much character growth, you see her going from this pure innocent girl to being broken and wounded so badly and then mending herself and becoming a strong woman. I was so happy for her 😭. The ML was also very well written, I love how he grows later on too. He learns to understand what she was going through and is determined not... more>> to let it happen again. They are so devoted to each other and so satisfying to read. <<less

A hidden gem!! It deserves above 4.5 ratings because it is that good.. while searching for novels to read I came across this novel but didn't read it at that time but the the novel's introduction had caught my eye and out of nowhere I was reminded about this story...I had to do a little bit of searching to find it and here I am writing a review for it 8 hrs later... The only what I wished to see more was the marriage and married life of the leads...... more>> nothing much just 2 or 3 extras but I'm happy for the leads <<less

Simple and sweet!

I love it when a story has some kind of yearning and for me this is perfect.

No extreme elements or setting, just that it's perfectly written for the type of story it wants to tell. Some would look down on common tropes in fiction or in simple, straightforward stories, but what does uniqueness matter if it's not done well. In this case, the author made the best out of the university-to-work setting coming of age romance.

What I love most about this story is truly the writing and narration.... more>> The author did a great job. I'm definitely going to check out their other works too if it's as good as this.

About the story: it's about FL and ML's romance, and how FL's insecurities and journey in life affected their first run. FL's strong, she's smart, empathetic, but she really is insecure. It's not the type of insecurity that necessarily causes harm to others, but the type that quietly persists in her own world, affecting her own life choices.

ML is great. He's decisive, smart, kind. He really has that patient teacher/doctor vibe. And he's so so so patient with FL. In my eyes, if FL "liked" ML first, ML definitely fell in "love" before she did. To him, FL is perfect the way she is. But so what, right? So what if ML loves FL the way she is if FL doesn't love herself?

The author wrote FL in a way that clearly shows her struggles and victories and relapses without making her look helpless or annoying to the reader. Rather, it makes you want to root for her more.

The story shows that loving yourself is important. Of course, the author understands that healing isn't perfect, but the story stands to give people hope and maybe comfort. After all, FL's journey in the story is about that too.

The story also shows that relationships aren't always fairytales but what's important is having the people involved willing to make it work, talking to each other, and putting in an effort.

Really, the main selling point of this novel for me is how it's written. Kudos to the translation team! BIG BIG HUGS FOR YOU TOO!!! <<less

A short, cute and heart wrenching story. Finished this in one sitting and had to put my phone down because of the emotions. The story depicts the recklessness of the FL and pains of growing up and expectations from comparing herself to ML. ML is patient and loving but his character growth is depicted welll. Honestly a good loving story of reunited sweethearts and I love how to flashbacks always add onto the depth of their prior relationship
