I was disappointed with MC's lack of other abilities. Like he has the OP MC starter pack (stronger than the average person, fast, agile, keen senses), powerful objects/props (the watch and the monsters inside, including ML's power that he consumed (?)). I was expecting his SAN value to be an important aspect, but no, for other players, a yes, but for him, it's a no. I thought because of the description of the novel that he would become a madman once his sanity becomes zero but none. Nothing happens to him, no power boost or crazy abilities (I was like, Give me something, lol). It was so anticlimactic T_T

How MC's relationship progresses with ML. It's not too quick or too slow, but just natural. Like their tension is okay at the start and later on became the "possessive but also protective puppy vibes."

I also like the instances in the first half because they were enjoyable.

maybe it's because he's always been a monster, and isn't one of those "human turned to monster" ML that, despite him having his own... unique personality and understanding of the world, his craziness is restrained. like... he's not a psychopath/sociopath like some other MLs are *cough*thriller trainee*cough*. it's refreshing because he thinks and acts outside of standard human convention in a fun, refreshing way. at least for me, anyway.

their relationship toward the end changes and ML's mindset/desire changes from "he's interesting, I want to play with him/possess him" to a more loyal/respectful/caring mindset. I love how active MC is in all of it, too, lol. he spends the story trying to understand himself more and accepts he's gay very easily (because he didn't know until a ghost tried to feel him up in a scheme to bait him into a trap lmao). he also accepts his attraction to ML very easily and in the Mo Tuo arc at the end accepts the physical affection very fast. I've read so many romances where the MC, regardless of gender, takes so damn long accepting their feelings exist and then trying to accept that their feelings are for "so and so" person that it gets tiring. MC's attitude and actions are very refreshing in this sense hahaha. though, neither of them ever say outright stuff like " love you" or "I like you" or "want to go out/date/etc" but their relationship is so natural there doesn't need to be. not to mention, neither of them have a standard way of experiencing and expressing emotions so I feel like it's fitting despite the absence.

last side note. I wrote this review first when I had finished chapter 113 and my guess for how the story would end around chapter 120/130 was something like "MC entered Mo Tuo instance and 'collects' the ML like he did his other monsters, and the ML becomes a part of his 'space' while MC continues to be a player and doesn't head back to the real world." Now that I read it, I can see how wrong I was lmao. I was right about MC not heading back to the real world, but the rest of it is all wrong hahaha. I love the actual ending a lot more, it's way more fitting.

In chapter 42, Gu Zhan is outside an adult venue and says that he's "not interested in that" and when asked what he likes, he says "I don't know". Then in chapter 70 he suddenly comes out of the closet and says that he "doesn't like girls" and "only like[s] men"??? What happened?? Furthermore, in chapter 72, he randomly comments on how hot the butler (ML lol) is? confused. Jpg

What happened to the twins? Yu Yezhou mentioned in chapter 42 that there were twins on their team but they were in a dungeon so that's why Gu Zhan needed to fill the gap in the team, and he also mentioned that he didn't think the twins were dead because of his intuition. However, the twins never appeared again in the story afterwards so did the author just forget about them?
