Not sure whats up with NU ratings. So far I am loving this novel. MC is fairly interesting and golden finger aspects or romance aspects don't overshadow the plot. Overall, a great read so far.

**This is a sequel to a not yet translated novel called: The Gangster Took the s*umbag Script**

This is getting lower ratings than Face Slapping Specialist because it's genuinely worse in quality so far. It reads more like a shallow wish-fulfillment story than a quick transmigration counter attack.

The first story is especially poorly done. Although it has less than 10 chapter of actual story content it's stretched on for almost 50 chapters. A big issue with this novel is the aimlessness compared to the mission/romance/revenge focused nature of typical quick transmigration... more>> novels. I fully expect this to get better in the future because this author is one of my favorites. However, so far its not up to standard.

As a side note: The translation quality does get better after the first few chapters. I'm not sure if they switched from edited mtl or not but I didn't notice any mistakes after a while.

Edit: This novel is a lot more enjoyable after reading both of the prequels. Some if the initial complaints make more sense in context of the ending of TGTTSC. I still wouldn't recommend reading this as a standalone novel. <<less

First of all, I wouldn't recommend this story to those who didn't prefer typical Mary Sue or Gary Stu's plots. Both the main characters were overpowered, and the system was undefeatable. Of course, for those who hadn't read the prequel, this story would be a little boring with no much suspense. The sequel felt more like an after story, what happened after the protagonist reached his "happy ending" by escaping from the Time and Space Bureau's clutch and became a "free man". So, unless you read the prequel first, you... more>> wouldn't understand the cause for protagonist and the system's overpower. Thus, resulting in feeling the blandness.

This story contained many scenes that emphasized principles of humanity, morality, hard work, karma, living to the fullest and especially, filial piety. Sometimes, I even wonder if the author wrote this story for educational purpose, like what the protagonist did when he became a teacher in one of the arcs. I personally recommended to read this during your relax time. Maybe, it would happen to encourage and motivate you to work harder for the future.

All in all, the reason I gave a 4/5 star was because some of the side antagonists felt too bland, as to it didn't explained why they became villains in the first place. Of course, perhaps the reason was the fast-pacing of the story. Personally, the arcs I like most were:

  1. First Arc, because it was the story with the clearest plotline and justifiable cause-effects. This arc depicted how the protagonist tried to adapt to his new life, away from the missions and also how he met the female protagonist. And although there were a few bland characters, mostly their actions and reasons were understandable.
  2. Fourth Arc. I found that the protagonist's interaction with his students was heartwarming. And I also admired how the protagonist was able to separate from his family while not being out of his original character.
  3. Sixth Arc. This arc was one which plotline I was attracted to. The protagonist's supernatural skills were amazing and from the way the author described how it worked, I could imagine that if anyone unskilled try it, it would take a huge toll and perhaps damaged the body or gone haywire.
Everything had their own merits and demerits. This story wasn't perfect, but it was entertaining enough and educational enough for casual read. It was quite fun, if I might say.😊 <<less

I honestly don't know why some people rated this less, just started reading it and I love it!!

BEST PART FOR ME:

Spoiler

It gets even better when MC meets his FL. Just letting everyone know, there is and will only be ONE FL. So the two are basically a power couple. This FL is equally as strong as the MC, she's not some flower vase or someone too dependent on MC which is what I love! It's like watching TWO instead of one MCs in this novel.

[collapse]

Another thing for the readers, this novel is in the same universe as Xu Xifan from "Boss Level Face-slapping Specialist [Quick Transmigration]." So if you loved that novel (which by the way is still in the process of being translated) then you'll also love this novel.

Something about the partner system of this novel and Xu Xifan's system:

Spoiler

In chapter one of this novel, MC's system mentioned Xu Xifan and his partner system as people he admired. Again, if you haven't read that novel go read it because Xu Xifan's system that was mentioned in chapter one wasn't with him from the very beginning. It was only after Xu Xifan experienced several worlds and then he met his forever partner system that learned to adapt and change thanks to Xu Xifan.

So this aspect was interesting because compared to Xu Xifan, Tao Rui had his partner system from the beginning by choosing from other systems.

[collapse]

So far there hasn't been a direct explanation of Tao Rui and his system backstory but the author seems to intentionally release information about the two little by little so maybe as we read we will understand the reason for why MC chose to do what he does.

EDITED 4/5 STARS:

As much as I love the idea of a QT power couple, the author didn't dive into the characters and rushed the last 40+ chapters. If they gave the characters a thought just like with their novel with Xu Zifan, it would have been a great read. Now, instead of a novel this feels more like a side story novel. It's really unfortunate and that's why I'm reconsidering my 5 star rating and making it a 4 star instead. <<less

This is a very feel good novel with a great ML and FL! It's great for those who want to enjoy face slapping with a touch of dog food here and there XD

Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the author really rushed the last few 40 chapters or so, which made the novel a bit lack luster towards the end but thank goodness there's a prequel😭

Some of the story lines were brilliant and then some of them were silly (you went over to your family’s house and they basically admitted to doing horrible crimes to you and you didn’t just record it?!) and it ended incredibly quickly. Ending so rushed, you know they wanted to be done with this.

Truthfully, unlike the other 2 related novels I’d rate this sequel a 4.5/5. Originally it would have only been a flat 4 but the ending made up for some of it.

A lovely sequel, the first world in itself was the peak and most exciting part which is why it also had the most chapters. The chapters after revolved more around Tao Rui and Liang Yuxin, which I wasn’t expecting because I barely even heard much about Liu Nian. I was expecting it to build up as well on Liu Nian... more>> as a character but as more worlds happened, there wasn’t much talk about Liu Nian unless for specific stuff that helped both of them. I could see the relationship between Tao Rui and Liu Nian in the last novel but for Ling Yuxin, there wasn’t much and I think that was a slight problem here.

Since this was originally a story revolving around Tao Rui, having an additional like Yuxin couldn’t allow for switching of perspectives so as a reader although I felt Yuxin was cute in the Zhou Dynasty era, the following worlds couldn’t make me as the reader connect with her more.

Although I didn’t lose interest reading and continued binging, there were some times in the middle of an arc or as a new arc was starting wherein I didn’t feel like wanting to go on because to me, it didn’t have that exciting feeling for a moment.

I still would recommend this sequel as it is quite rare to see such a well written sequel by most authors. Since it is a sequel, it would really be best to read the past novel and also probably the novel with Xu Zifan and Shaohua so that you could also relate to why Liu Nian looked up so much with Shaohua.

I’m quite sad that I won’t see much more about Tao Rui, Xu Zifan, and Shaohua. Still, I’ll be checking more of the authors’ works and see if I might like some of them.

A big thank you to the translators as always for sharing such a novel and doing such quality translations and cute notes for some callbacks which I enjoyed. Everyone~ Enjoy the novel and have fun~ <<less

It was a bit tiring seeing the ML be so op. Even if he's op, having the system be able to see everything and hear everything just removed all sense of excitement for me.

The plot of the first arc actually was pretty interesting. But there's just no suspense.

Entertaining read with independent and witty protagonists and varied worlds; the final arc is the weakest of the bunch and even then it's better than some other QT stories.

Mostly follows Tao Rui who is a pretty good actor, adaptive and smart and his perpetual wife through the cosmos as they try and face slap the galaxy on behalf of their wronged host bodies

The protagonists are a bit too mary sue, and the villains all have low IQ. Each arc is 'MCs good, bad guys bad'. There isn't really any cleverness or nuance to how they solve their problems. They just... do well.

Still, I read the whole thing (in MTL) and it was okay. Nothing offensively bad except for some points where the author tells us that the ML is super smart and competent but unable to properly show it.

A power couple travelling through dimensions together. What else could I ask for? You can really feel the love between the main characters, they also care about people and don't use them as tools to get better. They are confident in themselves and never stop learning new things. And most importantly to me, there is close to no difference in power between them, one has more experience but it's only that and the other learns fast.

I read the prequel first. Basically the style is similar to what I described in the review for the prequel, but this one just added one more fixed character. Compared to some qt novel with couples I think this one is quite good. Because some novel made the other one completely useless, while this novel had the two character have their own story and mission, most of the time.

Unfortunately the word count is too little so the novel itself feels lackluster since I don’t have the chance to invest... more>> my feeling to the novel <<less

Its a 1 st time I read a bg qt with male lead pov. So its quite interesting, I live how he brings his love travel to every world and how sweet they are. The plots for every world is clihe but it’s also quite a nice read. Most were dramas but our couple were so op they slapped every one face so it good for me. MC is motivated and help alot. (Like his mission to make the world a better place, help people to have better lives,... more>> kinda revolutionary, makes the country better, trive, be motivated) Mostly I feel this novel want to bring the message, be good citizens, be filal, help the country, be better person, reform, study hard.. Etc. , This couple story was like what happened after “ they lived happily every after, and after and after” lol. So it’s not a bad read. Thank you <<less
