Rather mediocre overall. But pretty chill

There’s a few weird historical elements and Japanese folklore and religious details which is novel and interesting, a story which references golden bat can’t be hated on too much. It’s also a pretty chill slice of life story. The MC dives into the dungeon, gets grocery’s, has his loving mom cook tasty bentos, which everyone gets jealous about. On the otherhand, the story is rather poorly written, the main character is being watched by the gods, has a fox spirit transformation skill, and a dimensional space with a house, a farm, and a shrine in it, with running water and electricity, and it can be invaded by enemies. So while they may not seem like it at first glance in reality they’re a classic mary sue. Also at one point the author retconed the Mc’s useless otaku backstory in order to give a explanation for they’re ability to cave reaaally fancy Buddhist sculptures

The author has had to put a lot of work into the world building, after world war 1 there was dungeons... (____________)... in the modern day Japan is ascendent, America no longer exists, smart phones exist, but many other modern features don’t? So yea anyway the author’s given themselves a big 100 year crater to fill. <<less
