Jeong Jiheon was once a promising swimmer, but retired early due to an injury and is now working diligently at a sports agency. Currently, the greatest interest in the sports market is none other than Kwon Jaekyoung, and numerous agencies are fighting fiercely behind the scenes to scout him.

In the meantime, Jiheon is ordered by his boss to somehow arrange a meeting with Jaekyoung, and he miraculously succeeds thanks to their insignificant and brief relationship of going to the same swimming center 10 years ago.

To be honest thought this novel will be very good + reading all this positive review I had a high expectation but to my disappointment this novel was not upto the mark according to my viewpoint.. I do like the ML but the MC is the problem... MC irritates me.. MC character feel shallow for me.. the way he plays with the ML emotion by offering his body just feel wrong n irritating..m sorry but this is not my cup of tea...

Good novel, it's cute, the first few chapters are definitely slow to get through but it's understandable considering how much there chapters are, there's bound to be a lot of build up in the beginning. I like it but who is this seongha hyung? 😭 Was he mentioned before I seriously don't remember

Amazing translation, amazing story, amazing characters. Honestly, this story stirred up so many emotions in me that I hadn’t felt in a long time. MC is so smooth sometimes that I can’t help but squeal and kick my feet. The romance is so sweet, despite all the character flaws.

This story has a bit of everything: REALLY GOOD smut, face slapping, sports drama, little bit of angst, fluff, and just straight up great story telling. I really like the omegaverse genre, and it’s hard to find good ones, but this was really entertaining. I was so excited reading the first half because the MLs are so silly, and I really like the MC's character despite his dating history. And Kwon Jin is so cuteee, Oh, I wish I could watch that "Dad and Me" episode 🤧

Also, the swimming terms are entertaining because I read this... more>> during the Olympics season so it’s super informative. I can’t wait to see which child follows in his dads footsteps. <<less

English isn't my first language and this is the first time I write a review so sorry for any grammar mistake :) Thank for the good translator, it's quite easy to read for s.o who read a novel in English the first time like me.

Overall: both main characters have their own flaws, they're quite stubborn and stick to their thoughts, char dev quite good too me. Anyone who expected that ML and MC would change into a perfect couple right after they're date may disappointed 😂 This... more>> is not a story abt a perfect relationship, perfect lovers or sth like that, this is a story about two different people learn how to tolerant and accept all the aspects of love.

About MC:

I was amazed because he's alike me that much. I mean the love-hate relationship (?) between him and swimming. If anyone has ever thought that they belong to a certain field, good at it and want to delicate everything you have to it, and then realized their own limitation, then decided to gave up on it but still have lingering feeling about it, you'll definitely understand and sympathy with him. Maybe many people will feel that it took too much time to get him to agree to date, yet it took even longer for him to considering marrying ML. But I think anyone who has gone through the same things as him and is a perfectionist will know how strong the fear of failure is, and he has lived with that fear for 27 years, so changing his mindset is not easy at all. And actually, according to the timeline of the story, it only took a few months for him to agree 😂 In my pov, in reality that period of time is not too long and reasonable for the MC to gradually change his mind, just the way the author builds the plot is quite natural, slow but detail can make the reader think that everything happened in a very long time.

One more thing I want to talk about MC is his past relationships, I had read the comment that they said MC is a s*umbag but in my pov, he did the best he could, it's just that he did it out of a sense of responsibility (as his personality is described as s.o who like to please others), not love, and those who dated him would immediately realize that he wasn't really interested and its end up that they dumped him first. THIS has led to him having a negative perspective on dating and thinking 'my relationship will end soon'. He had no intention of doing so from the beginning, but only after experiencing failure many times did he form such negative thoughts. I really LIKE the part when he confess those things to ML when he drunk, such a strong push in plot and they relationship.

About ML:

At first I quite hate him despite of his behavior and he's really really really bad at communication, but then it turn out a perfect match with MC's personality. 😂 Because he like him so much that he always try to say all his thought to make sure that the MC would not misunderstand in any situation. Yet I have to admit that at first he's quite immature, especially when he refused to go out to eat with his family, was angry with the MC and didn't show up at the closing ceremony. I really want to punch him right away when I read that chapter. :) And I was also amazed that the MC can tolerant that, oh my... the magic of love. 😂 But after that, he began to consider more about the MC's management position before taking action, what a relief!

And one thing that surprised me about ML is that he really understands MC, like he said he could write a thesis about MC 😂 In vol 2 and 3, THIS contributed greatly to stabilizing not only their relationship but also MC's feelings. And even though I said I hate him in the beginning, the fact that he only sees, cares, and gives special attitude toward only ML makes my heart melt every time. He and the MC will become more mature as the story progresses, please be patient with them both. 🥺

Oh and in general, I LOVE THAT MC AND ML HAVE MANY DIRECT DIALOGUES. Any relationship needs to be nurtured to live and grow, and communication is the key to that nurturing. Although many times MC and ML are hesitate to speak their minds, which leads to arguments, but after arguing, they understand each other better and their relationship makes new progress! I really like that, it's very realistic because two main characters are really very different in their character and way of communicate, they have to learn to reconcile and accept each other, yet after all the disagreement and arguments they still choose to be together. 🥰

OK let's come to the part that annoys me the most. I've read up to chapter 145 and now I'm wondering if I should continue reading, because I really don't like the details of the unwanted pregnancy. I think it would be better if it was a symptom of a fake pregnancy to act as a stepping stone for the two main characters to mentally prepare for having children, and then when they are really ready, they'd proactively decide to get pregnant later. I really don't like that detail because as a med student, I have seen this happen a lot and if it happens in reality, most of it will lead to not very good endings. 😮‍💨😓 This makes me only rate the story 4* and maybe temporarily drop it here, hoping I will have the motivation to come back to finish this story. <<less

I already completed main story. But Im not sure should I continue to read the side story or not. Same with others, thanks the translator so much. I actually read chapter 4 manhwa then move to read novel as I cannot wait haha.

This is the first time I read ABO novel, so I don't have much comparison. But the story is generally good. I dont find the MC is that bad as others said. Both MC and ML have their own issues (in responsibility or in communication), but how they... more>> grow in their emotion, how they change,... that's enough. It's not perfect but that maybe how the society works.

The story also provide a lot information about swimming and the Olympics. The time I read is exactly when Olympics 2024 happens. It's so much related haha. And so interesting, Leon Marchand is 22 years old, won gold medal for 400m medley same as Jaekyong. That's incredible. I find more interesting tbh. You should give it a try to read this novel.

Ah. One thing I'm not happy about the story is the way they have a baby (not after that once they care and love it). It's really bad if happen in real life :)... <<less

I'm on chapter 65 and I'm not enjoying it as much as I would have thought. I was really excited to see jealousy, obsessive and possessive love tags, but the ML is not very likeable to me. I usually love the trope where ML is cold to everyone but MC, but I feel absolutely zero chemistry between the two. I do however like the MC. It's also about 90% about swimming so far and just not very interesting to me.

Seme is an absolute green flag. This novel is stunning and its slowburn be really slowburning but it will all be worth it in the end.

I really enjoyed the plot and the swimming jargons are really interesting to learn.

Both MC and ML are such interesting and lovely characters, I could not put this novel down to rest 😂 I love how they're so head over heels for each other and always tries to protect one another from scummy villains in this series 💜💛

I am overwhelmed by happiness reading this novel really.

I was skeptical to start tbh bcoz of some reviews saying they dropped it coz the MC has no personality and boring blah blah. But I'm glad I didn't listen to those ahhhh I'm really so glad I read Dash.

I found this novel through it's manhwa and fell inlove immediately with the art. I thought the story was so slow and I want more so I tried to find the novel and here I am! Kicking and screaming by how good this... more>> is.

I love both Jiheon and Jeakyoung's characters, the author is so awesome that they were never really OOC at any point, just when they became parents. They were never boring, and the angst part are just enough to make you feel sad but not too much to the point of devastation. AND THE SMUT IS AWESOM OMG I CANT WAIT FOR ITS MANHWA ILLUSTRATION

I like this novel very match. MC and ML are very cute and adorable. Their interactions are very funny and romantic. It's one of best bl stories that I read so far.

The plot is quiet good. For a BL novel with swimming competition background, it talks about competitive sport in depth and more believably than many sports novel/manhwa/manga. It delves deep into sport politic and corruption in sports federation, how athletes and managers are involved. Well, add in the ABO factor. Anyway, it is not too over the top like some sport shounen manga can be, but enough to make it believable crisis for the characters.

Anyway, some people are quiet unfair to either or both, but this is how I see... more>> it: Culturally, athletes, especially olympic medalist, especially olympic gold medalists, are often seen as godlike figures in Korean society. They're often put in pedestal and so on. But, it is also very easy to fall from the pedestal. It is a competitive sport after all. There are many other athletes who want to be in that position to represent the country, to bring that glory home and worshipped by the people for their gold medals. There are agencies and related media who shamelessly use black method to push their athletes. That is why, for top athletes, a decline in performance can mean that people who worship them will suddenly turn their back on them. 'If he is in decline, he should have graciously retired. Give a chance to younger athletes!' Athletes who got injured and unable to comeback to top form are often pushed to retire like that. If, the decline is caused by some sort of scandal; say, the athlete is involved in a relationship with his manager, people will definitely cry out 'These guys are using federation money for their love trips!' is even a worse accusation because it means the athlete and his manager are corrupted. So the MC is really careful about this; in many case, a whirlwind or successful romance between athlete and manager is only acceptable if the athlete continuous to perform well and achieve more things.

But the premise of this story is the ML wants to retire early! Just when he achieves great popularity and create hypes in Korea! He is young, healthy, and he still has not reached his peak age or performance. No sport federation wants that: top athletes bring sponsors and money! ML is supposed to go to his 2nd Olympic, therefore creating big hype, so the federation can get more money from that. They still has not farmed enough money from him! Then ML chose an agency that does not cooperate well with the federation AND he announces that

. This is why the MC, as his manager, is very careful about their relationship. If you can see that two people in relationship as something that is more often not in vacuum, that external factor can affect it, or that it can affect the world around them, then you can see why the pair is the way they are. Overall, it is a fun read.

I love it.

I first read the manhwa and got curious so I checked if there was a novel I could read. I can safely say, I have no regrets. I binge read the novel and the special chapters in 2 days.

I love Jaekyoung and Jiheon's relationship. Sure, it was slow paced, but I love slow paced stories. I love their interaction and I always enjoy reading their dialogues.

I get why some might think Jiheon can be frustrating with how he drags his feet but I honestly didn't mind. You can... more>> tell how much of an overthinker he was. I honestly liked the contrast between Jiheon's and Jaekyoung’s personality. I especially loved how persistent Jaekyoung was and how he never gave up.

I like how the story focused more on them instead of adding a second ML in the mix. It was refreshing to just see them navigate their relationship and finally become a couple.

Definitely a great read. <<less

The high rating is only because I love Jaekyoung. I liked him more than the MC. He is the ultimate SIMP, 100% down bad for Jiheong in every possible way. Head over heels, utterly obsessed, and completely devoted, he makes it his life's mission to revolve around Jiheong. He might not have the best social skills, but he's loyal to the core. This man has tunnel vision for Jiheong and only Jiheong. *Sigh*

I'm so glad I gave this book a chance because sports and omegaverse are two things I usually... more>> steer clear of in BL novels. but this was surprisingly good. The writing is solid. I liked that the story is focused on their romance development, but could've easily been a 5-star read if I wasn't so endlessly frustrated with Jiheong, the MC. There were so many moments where I just couldn't understand his thought process, he makes everything so unnecessarily complicated. I get that he's insecure and has personal issues, but sir... maybe try communicating instead of flat out rejecting Jaekyoung over and over. This guy already struggles with social interactions. And the actual reason Jiheong is rejecting him is SO DUMB. If you don't want to be in a relationship with him, then STOP SLEEPING WITH HIM??? tf

Don't get me wrong, I love an MC who doesn't just give in right away and actually makes the ML work for it. A little chase can be fun but Jaekyoung has been pining for him for YEARS. He's never been with anyone else. He literally shaped his entire career around what he thought Jiheong would like, even willing to give up everything for him. And yet, Jiheong still finds reasons to push him away. Like... bro... ?? I would've folded, married him, and had 10 kids by now. The drama was so unnecessary. This story could've been 90 chapters shorter without all of MC's BS, but I guess the plot needed the angst.. 🙇‍♀️💁‍♀️ If nothing else, at least Jaekyoung's unwavering devotion made it entertaining but man, did it test my patience.

On another note, I loved how the author introduced the swimming community. She either has a swimming background or did extensive research because the sports aspect was incredibly detailed and well-executed. A solid read overall, if you have the patience for a lot of push-and-pull relationship nonsense.

Also, the cover is GORGEOUS. There's a scene where Jaekyoung does this pose for a photoshoot, and I'm so happy they made that moment the book cover. <<less

It took a few chapters for me to start liking this novel. I felt this Stockholm vibe at the beginning and was going to drop it. But I'm glad that I hung on to see how their relationship developed. MC, Jeong Jiheon, had quit swimming years ago and at the novel's beginning, he's mired in regrets. He thinks he should have tried harder and views himself as an irresponsible person.

ML, Kwon Jaekyoung, literally worships MC. He presses MC aggressively at first and it was off-putting.... more>> However, it's seen later that it was necessary to be forceful since MC was too hard on himself. MC would be forgiving of others but not himself and this caused him to think he wasn't meant to have true intimate relationships. So ML was the type needed to bulldozer through that thick barrier and let MC finally have a "happily ever after".

I read up to Extra 37 and might stop here since the extras have more of a slice of life tone.

Things mostly roll out as expected in the large brushes. ML was going to retire after achieving the Grand Slam for swimming. MC had become ML's manager shortly before ML achieves the Grand Slam.

ML reveals to MC that the Grand Slam was his only goal since MC had told him about it in the past. MC didn't mention anything else at that time so he's done. Once this matter was revealed, the Olympics is the next set goal and their relationship develop. It's later revealed that ML might've been imprinted to MC in the past, that's why ML could smell MC's trace pheromones. MC feels a lot of guilt about this and ends up damaging his body with too much pheromone suppressants. He has to get off the meds for a while and things get adult-rated with ML.

Long story short, ML liked MC for many years. He chases MC, things happen, MC loves ML, they marry and form a family. Oh yes, ML wins lots of medals at the Olympics.

I have had pushed this novel behind the very back of my reading list many times because I thought I would get bored due to its length. I was so wrong. I never felt bored reading it. In fact, it is so good (the story, writing & translation) that I'm currently unable to read other novels since I can't help but compare them to it. That's all I can say about it.

P.S. I really hope readers would stop wishing for virg*n/innocent bottoms and slut-shaming the non-virg*n ones. Unless they shame... more>> the non-virg*n/playboy tops equally, it's very much double standard to shame the bottoms. <<less

Found this gem right when the first 3 chapters of the manhwa was released and had to finish the novel. Now that I have finished it, it left me with a smile on my face.

The dynamic was so cute, with the relationship speeding up further in the novel. I kinda liked the slow burn in the beginning and the novel does address how unsocial the ML actually is. It doesn't really justify his actions, or the MC casual attitude (and I wish there was more of a reason for him... more>> falling for him since a lot of times I just felt like he was going along with the flow and just deciding on his actions depending on the ML or putting it off until MC gives to him) but I guess that is just his personality. But I also do love how direct the MC can be and is super smooth.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this novel and I would go back to read certain chapters since its just fluff. Big thank you to Bleak Ruby for translating this and literally uploading every other couple days!! Literally such a good job!! <<less

First thing it's been a while since I read the end of the main story.. And I decide to read the side story back on the official sites with MTL because I can't help being so curious about their lives after that..

second, it's really rewarding my patient to wait and read it until the ends. Because you know sometimes you wouldn't realize the bigger picture easily, appreciate amazing things until you get pass through that and looking back at what happened.

okay enough with my opening ramblings, I will state my... more>> opinions why this is a good read's:

    • Their character settings was dope, you can see details of the main characters and people around them like story of living person, they have their own reasons, thought and behavior growths through the story. Maybe you would laments a lot why they are like that or like this, but you would know the reason slowly, the author really did a good job at creating a mixed feelings.
    • The development of the story was slow paced at the beginning till mid of the story, but at the later half the plot get completed quickly without feels rushed for me.
    • The world building details itself perfectly make the story feel alive.
    • Oh if you come seeking for the smut or the fluffy things, maybe you need to be patient it doesn't come in the early chapter.
    • And the translation was really good. Thanks translator-nim
I won't say there's not flaw in the story because nothing comes really perfect, but it was quite minor so you won't notice I rather say. Lastly, towards the ending I couldn't put my excitement down and it's really satisfying to read the course of efent at the end of the story. And to conclude my review, the story and character was so charming and lovely it's blinding my own view for casual reads. The happy things is the story are complete, so you won't get impatient waiting for the new chapter like I do. <<less

Hey yall!! This is my first review so I'm a lil excited. I'm not sure I can fully handle the review format. I'll just write my feelings.

Btw it may contain spoilers so be ready for it!!

It was a series that I enjoyed reading. Many problems other than love were touched upon and it created great awareness. I was very touched that Jaekyung was still attached to Jiheon for years even without seeing him so Jaekyung was a character that I can call a perfect ML. He devoted himself to the... more>> person he loved when he was a child waited for him for years and when he found him, he held on to him and tried to win his heart.

However, the parts where Jiheon's character did not satisfy me were the fact that he sometimes saw Jaekyung as a child and towards the end, he found things he liked through his experiences, but sometimes he underestimated him, such as thinking that Jaekyung did not have the chance to do so. No matter how much he loves Jaekyung, I think he can't show it enough in society, for example. Or he suppressed his feelings too much even within himself or was too shy. It bothered me that he was afraid to show his loving moments to the people around him. Sometimes I felt like Jaekyung's endless love and support wasn't mutual. Maybe it's because Jiheon is more mature, but as I said it's just my point of view.

Apart from this, another thing I congratulate this series about is its length.

We witnessed enough of their domestic life and I liked it very much. In short, the series is more than a simple love affair, many topics have been considered.

If I were to say my favorite person in the series, it would be Jaekyung, he is a truly excellent character. The person who has exactly the characteristics you look for in a romantic partner. Admiring your existence, every part of you... Love this kinda man♥️♥️ and his father son relationship with jin😭they adore each other♥️not only a perfect husband but also a perfect dad😭 he was so young when he had jin but he handle it so well literally I can only read this series for this <<less

Well wht can I say, I reaaly appreciate the trasnlator who did a great job at translating the novel, this is really wholesome.

While I also say tht the MC personality which made me to give him a punch in the face, But im happy with the ending.

I like the conversation, its so fun.
