As a firm believer that GG translate is enough to understand English<->Chinese without a hitch, I have first seen this novel in its rawest form. To be honest, it's come to me as a surprise that this novel is here, solely because this novel's no-way-bad (concern the fact that it's one of the top novels on that page (that page is big)), just not what I think the most suitable for this page. This journey is enjoyable or not, please decide on these points carefully before digging in, because... more>> this novel is NOT for everyone:

About the vibe of MC: This's something more life-like, with bitterness and sweetness in between but one thing is for sure: MC is a totally normal person. There will be no face-slapping scene, no powers/talents are picked up along the way, no big goal, and, alas! There's no fan service or anything that intends to refresh the reader's mind like some of the slice-of-life out there! MC is just living their life, coping with what life throws at and continuing... to live.

About the Theme: I check all the tags, and things like Depression... well... is not a lie. The kind of depression that is so subtle to the point of being a tragedy, where you need to bear with it but can't do anything about it. Maybe, just maybe (cuz I don't know much about this stuff any more than you), MC has gender dysphoria when the gender bender happens. As the author of this novel has written from the start, his/her intention of writing this is "proving that gender bender novel can be a SERIOUS thing too"

About the writing style: It's good. I have read this novel at its worst but still find it decent, can't expect someone can make that feeling worse.

To be honest, I want to make a longer list for you to have a deeper cut of what kind of a novel this is, but maybe I have exhausted it. All the plot and world-building are so insignificant that you won't break a sweat if you skip all of it, but the feeling after stopping the read's kind of strange. Is it impressiveness? Something this simple?...

Conclusion: If you don't have any problem with an MC somewhat burdened with his/her new gender, live to cope and deal with it with no particular goal in mind, some point of view that's so different, but won't annoy me (strange, I don't think I have ever given a favorable expression to a normal MC), then you should give this a try. Well, in a way, this story feels like going back to the original meaning of gender bender and a slice of life theme- which has changed a lot lately. Anyway, 3 stars are too low for this novel, it gives me the headache of what to give to the novel:

5 stars to balance the score

or

4 stars- what I feel it should be?

Well... I chose 4, fully believe that someone will see the true value of this and give it what it deserves. Adios! <<less

I’m a huge fan of genderbender, and this one is quite nice. It actually takes the concept seriously, though I will say I have serious doubts about the science justifying the need for a transition, but whatever, suspension of disbelief is needed for any work of fiction.

The translation... has much to be desired. They constantly get pronouns wrong for several characters, grammar mistakes are not uncommon, but overall it’s not hard to understand. I’d gladly go through a bad translation to read a nice story. There’s only been 15 chapters... more>> translated so far though, my opinion may change later on.

I’m not sure what else to say, as I’ve only read 15 chapters. I’m excited to see where it goes next, and I like everything that’s happened so far. I like the characters. That’s about it. <<less
