“You can’t meet anyone else after leaving me.”

An arrogant remark echoed in her ears. Jiwook lightly grabbed her chin and lowered his gaze.

“So stop the pointless arguments. It’s tiring, you know.”

He made it sound like it was a real nuisance. Seowoo pushed his hand away and spoke up.

“I hope you won’t ruin even the good feelings we had until now. I don’t want to be left with just terrible memories.”

Even the memories of their passionate and thrilling twenties felt like fading away completely. She hoped desperately that it wouldn’t be so, because it would be so sad for her to lose those memories when she was barely surviving on them.

“Are you trying to erase those memories?”
“No. It’s even more dreadful this way. Don’t come back anymore. This is not a request, it’s a warning.”

Her heart sank. Despite seeing her struggling not to collapse, he remained unmoved.

“Seowoo.”

Jiwook’s piercing gaze landed on her.

“We had two children between us.”

In the end, Seowoo’s face completely crumbled.
Children. Miscarriage. Jiwook spoke the words, knowing how incredibly heartbreaking they were to her.

“You were pregnant with my child twice, I’m not letting you go.”
“How… how can you say such a thing now?”

His painful words turned into daggers, stabbing into her heart. Jiwook gently wrapped his hands around her trembling shoulders and calmly spoke.

“So you change your mind first. Before I break it and bring you to my side.”

well, I supposed it was just an average grovelling story after ML f*cked up and chasing arc. While I was satisfied to see ML finally regret his ignorance, I wish he would've grovelled just a bit more.

as for FL, well. She annoyed me with her silence. Really wished she wouldve started communicating with him even after their second "break up". I was surprised even when ML continued asking her what was wrong, making efforts to communicate and clear out their misunderstandings but FL was admanant in keeping shut. I get... more>> it, the first few years of marriage wasn't good but FL's problem has always been keeping her mouth shut. Though ML also contributes to this problem (not communicating about himself, his whereabouts, the Christmas date etc). But compared to FL, he tried to make efforts. I was seriously pissed when she said she would raise their children alone (AGAIN!). Even her friend who disliked ML wanted her to tell him about her pregnancy, thats how bad it was.

apart from that, I also shipped FL and 2nd ML. He was cute and yes a bit overbearing with his feelings but I always hoped in these types of stories, FL would leave ML for 2nd ML. The way ML realised his feelings for FL only after seeing 2nd ML make a move didnt sit right with me either.

anyway, the first two volumes dont really have much progress, it starts its pace after the 3rd volume. The translation was impeccable and clear, as expected from Dusk Blossom team. Thank you! <<less

I'd rate the novel 4 stars, with a slight deduction. The beginning was quite dull, and it only started to get interesting from volume 2 onwards. That said, I found his behavior absolutely frustrating. I honestly have no idea why he acted the way he did and then had the nerve to wonder, "Where did it all go wrong?"

I mean, he came back, met her at that dinner, and instead of having a honest and open conversation, he just slept with her—expecting her to be experienced because she had a... more>> sexy outfit on?, which made no sense. Let's not forget he was the one who left and never reached out.

And then after the marriage, even though he knew what his mother was like, he still left his wife alone and worked the whole time? Seriously, what the hell. Later, he finally realized what his mother had done—but by then it was too late. Honestly, she was the worst mother ever—a complete lunatic.

He did try everything to get a last chance, and yes, he suffered deeply—but in my opinion, it was totally deserved. Well, at the end all was good but it was a very long way.

Also, I've rarely read a novel with so many misunderstandings and miscommunications. It was honestly next level—nothing I've come across in other novels so far can compare. <<less
