In her past life, due to an unexpected drowning accident, Ye Qingshui, a village girl, was forced to marry a male educated youth from the city who had no choice but to wed her to quell the rumors. However, married life was far from the happiness she had imagined.

The man divorced her in order to return to his hometown, leaving her with nothing, even losing her child.

Reborn and given another chance, Ye Qingshui has realized the truth—if a man wants to leave, let him roll away as far as he pleases.

Wait, not so fast! Before he goes, there’s still that little child who has yet to arrive—her precious baby.

**A naive but beautiful village girl VS a wealthy and handsome man who was set up in marriage**

1. A sweet romance with a focus on food, 1V1, and really fragrant face-slapping moments.

2. The male lead was never a s*umbag in both lives.

3. Why the ML left her was a mystery, there were a lot of things she didn’t know but would understand later.

A sweet and heartwarming novel. The first half leaves a sour feeling, especially when you can’t help but sympathize with the MC due to her past life experiences.

The ML grows on you, even before the misunderstandings are cleared up. His loving and devoted character really stands out. I also enjoyed the balance between family, romance, and business-building—each aspect gets just the right amount of attention, making the story well-rounded.

I loved this. Definitely worth reading.

I don't know if theshanebright and I read the same novel because I didn't see any petty adults and throwing tantrum toddlers in what I read. Even the MC didn't take any petty revenge against the ML for her past life, and just decided to live her own life and make her family live better, hence, eat better, get better conditions. There's also no cannon fodders here in this novel, nobody died and got hurt. It's just that the behavior of the educational youths are more prejudiced against the FL... more>> since they thought she schemed to forcibly marry the ML and they felt that she's not worthy of him.

This is a slow romance novel, and also a slice of life one. The experience of the FL cannot be instantly erased or ignored and they had a flash/shotgun marriage so the ML is not in love with the FL at first either, so don't expect instant romance. But this novel actually gives out subtle of clues about the OTP's dynamics through the songs and poems, which will clear out in the latter chapters of the novel. This is not a direct romance novel, the relationship slowly builds up and the FL will understand what happened in their past lives is not the ML's fault. The narrative is in her POV and she was young and naïve in her past life when she married the ML. It's not like other rebirth novels where the leads knows everything, she knows very little because she had very little education then and relied so much on her husband, hence she was heartbroken and biased against him in this life because she thought he left her.

The ML is not even cool and mysterious. He's just a foodie intellectual, and he actually protects his wife even though he was forced to marry her. All the characters here will have character development, which is what makes this novel really good. The ML's attentions to his wife is not abrupt, it's not like he ignores or ab*se her, he just treats her like a sister at first and the relationship will shift to a romantic one. He also loves her in their past life, but he never voiced it out in a way she could understand (because she's not educated and he speaks in poems and Russian songs). He also took good care of her, which she forgot because of her biased and bitter experience.

I would say that this novel has 3 parts, the 1st one is the FL's development from a naïve village girl to an educated one, also developing her relationship with the ML, the 2nd part will be her romantic relationship with the ML and the third part will be where the misunderstanding clears up. <<less

In the world there are childish behaviors and petty adults. I don’t know how to phrase it better, but all adults including the MC acts and thinks like a throwing tantrum toddler, childish, especially the ML. If this was a better braindead novel, I would’ve been fine if the ‘annoying’ cannon fodders were just petty adults scheming for small gains, but from the characters to the settings to the dynamics were all so carelessly and rushly done.

And the ML, how are you gonna make someone cool and mysterious, but they... more>> can’t control their expressions, emotions, and don’t consider other things—from people to situation to principles—at all? Just a boy drooling over good food with nothing good to offer, especially words. Even special attention to MC feels so abrupt like he didn’t meant it at all and don’t care—so unromantic. <<less
