Luo Yi’er became the vicious female supporting character known for her gentle and refined reputation in the book one day after crossing over.

Facing the reborn female lead’s sinister schemes, she calmly countered with equal measures.

From the moment she knew she had crossed over, her goal was not just to survive.

Everyone in the world said: The Di daughter of the Qihou’s mansion, with beautiful appearance, generous and dignified, gentle and kind.

The reborn female lead wished to devour her flesh, thinking that everyone was blind to be deceived by her appearance.

Little scene*

The day he returned to the capital from the frontier, he blocked her way back to the mansion. He sat high on horseback, looking down at the carriage with a calm voice:

“Ben’wang has been away from the capital for three years. Since the imperial edict was issued, I haven’t seen Miss Luo once. Today, I happen to meet you. May I ask, Miss Luo, do you have any objections to the edict from three years ago?”

The person in the carriage didn’t show up, only a gentle voice replied: “We dare not have any objections to the imperial edict.”

“Since you have no objections to the edict, then I’ll ask you, are you willing to marry me?”

There was a moment of silence in the carriage. On the long street, there were no people, so no one saw his hand tightening the reins slightly.

No one knew that this edict was personally requested by him.

first, sigh, my heart goes to all the second MLs out there who didn't have happy ending with the FL. But it's fate, like this novel.

wow it really surprised me, I thought this will be a feel-good novel but no, it's full of schemes and conspiracies which I like! Our FL is clever and calm, she's not kind with the original reborn female lead, she didn't give her a chance to retaliate at all which again, I like! Our FL is ruthless to everyone for her own sake. I like... more>> FLs like her compared to overly kind and compassionate ones.

i just got confused somewhat because she's normally so clever about the schemes in the inner boudoir but with the ML's feelings, she was so unwelcoming and didn't know what to do at first. But then I understand, no matter how cold she is, her feelings always take priority. I also like how she gradually fell in love with him, not instant kind of love because the ML have status and power.

im really looking forward to their wedding and having little cotton padded jackets! <<less

Ohhh I've read this before. I didn't finish it, but it was pretty good. The 2nd ML is really pitiful and I guess the 2nd FL is too. Her mother is pretty despicable, but so is that bit*h ass who*e father and it's human nature that 2nd FL is unhappy living like a second-class citizen despite also being the master's daughter. She has to live with her tail between her legs and be careful not to anger the legitimate mother because her biological mother pissed the Madam off to the... more>> point of damaging her health and almost killing the son in her belly.
Spoiler

In the end though, the son died young anyway, and my GOD that pissed me off. I get that this is a feudal patriarchy and women are groomed to s*upidly rely on the grace of the man she gives her body to but LORD that woman didn't consider her future at all. The Madam was favored and she was just a maid. Even if the master ended up liking her, how could he step on his wife's head and let a mf tongfang surpass her? She ended harming a fellow woman's health, killing her son young, and ruining her own daughter's life before it even began.

[collapse]

FL is really smart and likable, just cautious. I literally cannot remember anything about ML, so he was probably pretty good and has no bad qualities for me to hold a grudge over. I remember this story is also tied to another one of the author's novels. THAT ONE was even more fun to read. I think the ML of that one was the biao cousin of the ML of this novel. He went on a mission to some other place and fell in love with the wife of the son of some local official there. <<less

9/10 I really like books from this author >< hope more translations come soon! This one felt really heartwarming FL and ML have such a harmonious relationship, and her family (minus the illegitimate siblings) is genuinely good to her. Also glad the second ML got his extra chapter since he truly cared for the original FL. Honestly wish there were more extras about them!
