That night, I took a lot of sleeping pills, and when I woke up, I found that the identities of animals and humans were reversed.

The animals became the ones going out to work, while humans only had to stay at home and lie down.

And then, I saw my dog, Dian Dian, again.

A giant Corgi was wagging its bu*t while frying eggs in the kitchen.

The child had grown up and could even cook for its owner now.

The giant Dian Dian shook its plump bu*t as it walked toward me, its expression one of familiar disdain.

“Eat up. Stay at home obediently. I’m going to work.”

I was stunned, those were my lines!

*Warning: you will cry a river if you are a pet owner*

This novel will leave a deep hole in your heart. But will be filled with love by the memories of our puppies.

We have our FL the owner of our puppy Dian Dian. The novel was well written as it portrayed the 5 stages of grief. It's probably my own bias because I can see myself with our FL.

This novel perfectly encapsulated the deep love we have for our pets but we just don't treat them as pets, they are... more>> our family, bestfriend, companion, baby and even for others they are the sole purpose of their life.

I can see my reflection to the FL when my puppy XiaoXiao (I called my dog puppy eventhough he was 3 yrs old) was brutally killed. Like what our FL tried to do (trigger warning:
Spoiler

- our FL tried to take her own life by overdosing to pills because she can't accept that Dian Dian was gone

[collapse]

Although I didn't took my own life but due to grief I've gotten myself so sick that I've been in and out of the hospital and scheduled for a surgery this next week of January. Our Author perfectly wrote it in this passage:

"Perhaps many people wouldn't understand why someone would place so much emotion in a dog, but for me, Dian Dian was like a piece of driftwood in the sea, the last breath of air in my lungs before drowning."

"It loved me unconditionally, and we only had each other. It would never betray me, something I could never find in any of my own kind."

Every words in this novel made me cried so much and prickled my heart. Because not only am I reading a fiction but this novel really captures what love means between a human and an animal.

This novel gave me a big comfort and reminded me that our puppies will not want us to suffer after they were gone. But truly wanted us to continue on living. Because once our time is up they are patiently waiting for us in the other side of the rainbow bridge, wagging their tails.

When my puppy died. I don't have any dream of his. But when I was rushed to the emergency room while my consciousness was drifting off I had a dream of my XiaoXiao, he was next to me waving his tails and nudging his head in my hand. I can see him smiling and licking my hands. And then he got up and looked at me still waving his fluffy tail as he walk ahead of me. I wanted to follow him but I can't move. He was strutting farther and glancing at me with his toothy signature smile.

I will be like our FL:

"Dian Dian wanted me to be happy, so I decided to live happily, just as it wished"

I don't believe in coincidences, it is fate that I was able to read this novel before my surgery next week. I'd like to think that my XiaoXiao is relaying his message to me thru this novel. And whatever the outcome will be I am grateful for this moment.

Thank you so much Translator and CrimsonNovels Translation for letting us read a heart-warming story. This novel was well translated it was already poetic in English and it must've been in Chinese too. Thank you so so much. <<less
