Internet literary giant Xia Liyang has millions in adaptation rights but is often criticized for her clumsy romance writing.

In order to break through her limitations, she decides to write a purely romantic novel.

After staring at her computer for several days with a distressed expression, Xia Liyang sought help from her best friend: “Help! How do you write a romance novel?”

Best Friend: “Try the classic trope of a domineering CEO falling for Cinderella. Everyone loves it.”

Xia Liyang: “I don’t think I can come up with that…”

Best Friend: “Then you should experience it yourself. Flirt with a domineering CEO and find the feeling.”

Xia Liyang: “???”

Although she thought her friend’s suggestion was a bit absurd, Xia Liyang actually found a suitable target.

The man lived in the same villa community as her, was handsome, sharp-minded, and at a young age, he controlled the entire Junlan Group.

More importantly, his family was hiring a part-time housekeeper.

Isn’t this the perfect job for a Cinderella in a cliché novel?

So, Xia Liyang passed a rigorous interview and officially became a part-time maid in Lu Huaicheng’s household.

A few months later, after successfully gathering a wealth of novel inspiration, Xia Liyang decided to resign: “I have to go back to my hometown to help harvest wheat.”

Lu Huaicheng: “How long will you be gone?”

Xia Liyang: “It’s hard to say, so I think I should resign for now…”

Lu Huaicheng: “No need. Your job will be kept for you. Contact me when you return.”

Xia Liyang: “… Thank you, Mr. Lu.”

But contacting him was impossible.

However, just a few weeks later, while driving a Porsche into the community, Xia Liyang accidentally scratched a rather familiar Rolls-Royce.

Upon seeing Lu Huaicheng get out of the car, she stiffened, forcing a smile: “Mr. Lu.”

Lu Huaicheng’s expression darkened as he looked at her: “Harvesting wheat can get you a Porsche?”

# Just a little misunderstanding…

6.5/10 Not a bad book, but nothing amazing either. It feels like a beginner-level romance story. The FL is super noob at love but wants to write romance novels which gave me secondhand embarrassment at times 😅. Luckily, the ML just happens to like this kind of blur, clueless FL. The whole vibe is very lovey-dovey high school romance, even though they’re supposed to be working adults. Plot twist and climax were pretty meh. Might be a fun read for romance newbies, but as someone who’s read hundreds of novels,... more>> this one felt just okay. <<less

I don't want to rate it since I couldn't swallow this trope in peace.

I tried reading up to ch.40 this is where the romance gets heated.... so for me, this pairing is way too deceitful and stalkerish from the MC's side and she's giving me too much Mary Sue vibes.

Also, for someone supposedly a suspense/detective writer.... she's just too dense....

I can understand substituting into a role for inspo, but when you target someone specifically and enter their home and wish to play with their feelings, all that deceit leaves too... more>> much of a sour taste and I just can't continue.

the MC aside, thinking of the ML tolerating all this 'seduction' from MC and then 'keeping' her despite throwing it out there that he wouldn't change his future plans for her aka verbally pre-determined marriage with his BFFs lil sis... idk just doesn't sit right especially knowing the ML is very clear that the house-help he hired has intentions towards him and encourages that as amusement... idk I'm just not feeling a morally skewed ML today.

maybe ill skip some chapters to see how the confrontation and ending goes. <<less

I think I read almost half of the book. I realized I didn't enjoy this trope too much. The FL is very dense about the matter of love. It's a very cliche story. I hope that instead of trying to seduce the ML by lying, she could have tried to date him legitimately and had been honest with the ML. If people like that kind of story then it is a very good one. However I didn't enjoy it that much.
