Frankel, a man despised as an evil necromancer, was not actually a malevolent being—he was just an unpopular, socially awkward loner who happened to love the undead. However, society viewed him with disdain for being a necromancer, ostracizing and hating him… until he was ultimately slain by the hero Cain and his companion Flora.

At the moment of his death, Frankel attempted to cast a forbidden spell to become the “Undead King”. However, the spell failed, and he thought he had perished for good… but to his surprise, he was reincarnated as Yuricia, the daughter of Cain and Flora, while retaining all his memories from his past life!

She loves the undead! Handsome men are the root of all evil! While women—even if they’re bullies—are goddess!

Outwardly, she’s a delicate and beautiful girl, but inside lies a completely warped sense of values. And as if fate had a cruel sense of humor, Yuricia was gifted with the power of “healing”!

But Yuricia uses this power solely for her own selfish desires.

Her “healing power” gets in the way of her plans to revive herself as a necromancer.

Her repeated trials and errors come off as nothing but bizarre behavior to onlookers.

Yet, despite her intentions, the various incidents she stirs up are interpreted positively by those around her, and she ends up helping many people in the process.

After accomplishing numerous great deeds, she eventually becomes known as the “Saintess of Healing”.

A siscon hero for a younger brother, a handsome beastman swordsman, a cursed high-spec prince, a future hero who’s gravely injured… She couldn’t care less about being adored by all these handsome men.

She heals everyone in her path, earning nicknames like “Street Healer”, but she pays no mind.

All she wants are rare undead creatures!

Outwardly pure and proper, but inside lies the soul of a former necromancer and lonely man.

This is the story of a dangerously eccentric beauty with twisted values, weaving a tale of healing and salvation.

A misunderstanding trope gender bender with potential. The MC is a necromancer who is by no means a decent person. After getting killed by a hero and saintess, he somehow became their daughter as a result of his failed forbidden magic. Now, if you can get over that one part where he, now a she, is savoring her saintess mother's teats quite literally whilst being fed, the rest of the story is your typical misunderstandings. So far, the MC is just doing their own thing, using their ability which allows... more>> them see a person's potential as an undead, and collecting people as materials for when she can create undead; that is if she could ever do so in spite of her inhabiting a body full of holy energy that is. Her actions of "collecting" materials and training her powers is seen as "saving" people, hence the misunderstandings of people seeing her as a saint. Overall, it's quite a relaxing read in spite of the degeneracy of the MC; but honestly, you read this for the misunderstandings and not the content of the character of the MC anyway. Therefore, people who like gender benders and misunderstanding stories would have a higher probability of enjoying this.

Also, this story has been adapted to a fully voiced visual novel called "Holy Undead ~Himote de Bocchi no Shirei Jutsushi ga, Seijo ni Tensei Shite Otomodachi o Fuyashimasu~". It's release was cancelled on steam but you can get it elsewhere; it has official English translations and the voices are in Japanese which are very good. This version of the story cut's out some things, like all adaptations do, but also tones down a lot of the violence/s*xual things. Personally, I think this is a good choice and makes this story much more approachable to people. The story does not finish with this visual novel so you'll have to wait for part 2, or read ahead in the novel version. <<less
