Tao Youqing has liked Zhou Yirou and been her secret lover for several years.

But she knew that Zhou Yirou didn’t love her, and she was just used as a double so she can look at as a vase.

But Tao Youqing thought that if she spent more time with Zhou Yirou she would get her love and let her put down her white moonlight to look at herself. But after a long time, she realized that Zhou Yirou would not love her. And instead Tao Youqing was tired of her enthusiasm for her and couldn’t love her anymore.

Finally, she decided to let go and never like Zhou Yirou again.
——If you don’t love, then don’t love, the next one will be better!

But what she didn’t expect was that when she let go of her, Zhou Yirou fell in love with her instead, and wanted to “reunite” with her.

Broken mirror reunion?

Tao Youqing refused: “No, the broken mirror said it doesn’t want to rebound.”

Doesn’t believe she doesn’t like her anymore?

Tao Youqing simply pulled out a shield: “Sorry, I already have someone I like.”

“Her name is Yuan Churui.”

Yuan Churui, a well-known entrepreneur, is not only President Yuan of Yueyong Entertainment, but also the little director of Yuan Group. Her net worth and value are dauntingly high.

Tao Youqing thoughts at the time: the sky is high and the emperor is far away, Yuan Churui wouldn’t find out.

As a result, Yuan Churui knew about it and gave her a paper love contract.

Yuan Churui smiled slightly: “Sign it, didn’t you say you like me?”

Tao Youqing: “…”

She never thought that things would develop like this!

Non-spoiler review: If you want a story with a if you like an MC that knows her worth, isn't willing to put up with being a substitute and breaks it off cleanly with said gaslighter, then you'll enjoy this novel. The romance between MC and her partner is cute if a bit cliché with the partner as CEO. I loved MC shutting down the ex when she wants to get back together. I enjoyed the parts where MC releases music as well!

Tags: Yuri, Entertainment, CEO, White Moonlight, Switched-At-Birth.

... more>> [SPOILER ALERT]

It's a really enjoyable read! Youqing (MC) is a fun protagonist to follow and I like that the relationship with Churui (Partner) started as one of with friends. The plot is the usual substitute girlfriend (a.k.a white moonlight) with the added switched-at-birth plot.

The writing and the progression of the story is fine but it just made me feel like a lot is happening and each thread could have been fantastic. This story had the potential to be great if they delved more into MC's relationship with her estranged mother and late-uncle (the novels MVP even when we never met him) before the reveal about the real family. Still, it is nice that MC gains the warm family she only got from her uncle. Youqing's debut and career could have been developed more to especially since she participates in writing the songs she performs.

Jiang Yaling, a.k.a the white moo light, is a bit brainless though but it isn't a game changer. She just seems pathetic tbh. I like Zhou Yirou's ending as well hehe. <<less

I usually only review novels after I finished or dropped them, but I’m gonna make an exception for this one because Tao Youqing is so cute! How I wish I was in Yuan Churui’s place... *envy. jpg*

The story is generic and fluffy, minor dramas, but the real charm is the characters: Tao Youqing is sweet and funny, strong willed and with a very narcissistic personality, and all in all a rounded and compelling character. Yuan Churui is a powerful woman with iron fist and soft heart, and I love love... more>> love their interactions because their friendship and budding romance are just too wholesome and soft!

About Zhou Yurui and “Jiang” Yaling... the first is a bit*h who doesn’t value what she has and when she loses it starts to want it back, a typical s*umbag that really only serves as stepping stone and wife crematorium (although said wife has already moved on to other families...). I have no sympathy for her and hope she gets her just karma. The latter is even worse: she’s a spoiled rotten and awful girl, who has no conscience or three views, and who is so jealous she couldn’t even let TYQ debut since TYQ would definitely be better than her. Petty and small-minded, she deserves to be punished and lose her foothold as a 15-something line in the entertainment industry. Seriously, she’s so petty she hates her younger brother and actively antagonizes him everywhere just because he was born and could possibly “steal” Jiang family’s love for her... WTF??? He’s so cute, he doesn’t deserve this.

Spoiler

Speaking about it, she’s not the real daughter of Jiang family. Tao Mu switched her daughter (“Jiang” Yaling) with the Jiang’s actual daughter, TYQ, and then mistreated Tao Youqing for her whole life, refusing to even look at her. It’s amazing already that TYQ even could grow as well as she did, all thanks to her uncle Tao, and the way the author writes her acceptance as her past and insistence towards uncle Tao is also too well written and realistic.

Speaking about secondary characters now, GUAN MEILIN! Oh my god she’s such a sweetie??? And has such a cute relationship with her gf???? I love love love her, oh my god, what wouldn’t I do to have a bestie such as Meilin, really she’s so cute and sweet even TYQ (who acknowledges herself as the most beautiful woman in the world) has a special category in her heart just so Meilin is the cutest (and she deserves it!!). I love to see such sweet friendship in GL, it’s so healing!!! (And Meilin’s gf is also a cutie, btw).

But let’s go back and speak more of TYQ now, shall we?

Something I like very much about her character is how real and compelling she is. She has a good grasp on her feelings and emotional intelligence, and also clearly divides between good-will and revenge. She is strong enough to sever her feelings completely for Zhou Yurui as soon as she decides to leave, and even how petty she can be when in vengeance for herself she is well written. She treats well those around her, and is funny and sweet, and just how her name implies, a little sun to warm people around her. She has perseverance, will, and hard work, and the way she works towards her dreams and skills is also good. Overall, this is a character you will definitely like, even when her flaws come through, because of just how brilliant she shines whenever she puts in the work.

Provisory five stars for now (because the ranking is too bad) and...

Spoiler

Yes TYQ, treat well your brother, he’s so cute!!!, not a stinky spoiled thing but really a little sweetie who really deserves such a good sister!!! Their interaction so far is so cute, I really need more!!!

I only stayed because her narcissism was funny and nothing else, but that got old quick. Maybe it's just me but I can't really muster up any feeling from their revenge plot. I felt MC was being dumb about her life choices instead of the antagonists actively hindering her from rising up.

Spoiler

When MC finally smartened up, she wanted to totally anihilate her ex because she blamed her for supressing MC in the ONLY industry that SHE specifically wanted to work in. Like why not work somewhere else??

MC also blamed her ex for keeping her as a live-in girlfriend, practically a sugar baby, because MC actually WANTED to work her bu*t off instead of just lying around in a fancy suite doing nothing all day for 5 years.

Girl, you fell in love. It doesn't mean you use that as a reason to suddenly stop looking for other jobs and strictly be your crush's substitute. You didn't have to make her pay for your financial problems for all this time. Some people dream about this kind of easy life, what the heck are you whining about?

If you're gonna go round the bend to get revenge on someone because you're in denial about your own idiocy and uselessness, then you're the bad guy here.

Another thing, her not-sister's actions were totally her biological parents' fault for spoiling her. If you're going to be blaming someone, blame them for creating this monster. This kid in an adult sized body sounds like she just needs attention and the right kind of therapy. If she were as malicious as the MC thought, she would've stuck being a singer/dancer and cut mc's limbs off instead of trying to work on a different part of their industry. Her thoughts were about making her not-parents love her again, for goodness' sake. Dang, I felt sorry for this girl instead of feeling vindicated that she's having such a terrible life.

Currently reading the MTL and I'm already half way through it. I rarely finish reading MTL ones since there are too many grammatical errors and some lines don't make sense but this novel just keep me entertained and I love the interactions between Churui and Youqing. One of the adorable couples I know in GL. I'd love to read this again when this is fully translated in English by the translator/s.

Cute, fluffy, wholesome story. I like the MC, she's confident and knows her self worth. The FL is the typical gentle CEO type character. Both are green flags. I like the fact that both of them communicate almost immediately as an conflict arises and it gets solved quick. A few things that I felt like needed to be better; the side characters needed to be more fleshed out. The characters feel quite one dimensional at one point and the story feels pretty uneventful. Also the villains were just... there, I... more>> guess? They needed to be a bit stronger in my opinion. Overall, it was good. If you're looking for a fun, wholesome novel without much conflict and drama to binge on this is it. <<less

Ima be honest, I don’t even like it this much, and the translation is... grammatically correct for the most part but kind of clunky in many places from what I’ve seen.

The reason I gave this 5 stars is because I made 2 predictions, one was kind of obvious and typical of these kinds of novels, especially with where the development was at, but the other one was literally me successfully psychologically analyzing a character in a novel. Never have I been more proud of myself.

I won’t say what those were... more>> because spoilers, but anyways, this isn’t that bad. It’s rather sweet, according to what I’d read up to, although there were moments of sadness <<less

I mean, dang, that was sweet! Nothing complicated—just lesbians being in love.
Spoiler

About the family drama, if a lot of you wonders why Youqing did not immediately tell her parents about what has happened to her in the past five years, you can understand that as her insecurity: to her past, and to her parents' love for her. Objectively speaking, it's comprehensible why Youqing wouldn't tell them, partly because it hasn't even been a few months, and they really have no emotional foundation. Comparing to the child that the couple had raised for 20 years, can't she not help but think that they'd hesitate in choosing whose to side? Plus, her past being Zhou's secret lover was, to her, a shameful thing that her parents might potentially not accept. So she took her time. You cannot just tell her to use her sensitive past as a tool to garner her parents' love and attention — that would be undermining her dignity as a person and as a child of the family.

Anyways, I don't have complaints. I came here to read something light, not expecting any pivotal plot twists. I love this and the sweetness it's brought me. Truly a 1000/5.

Main pair and side pair was very cute, loved that we get to see a little extra about the side pair. It's one of my favorites when reading novels like this.

Probably cause the face slapping moments happened at each moment after FL and MC got "together" that the revenge plot wasn't as impactful as I'd hoped. Still, I like how light the story is, not too stressful at all, and it's pretty smooth sailing.

Definitely would recommend.

Once again, Ren Dao Hun Jue delivers.

They're great at crafting a story with darker undertone with humour layered on top to create an engaging story. Tao Youqing's backstory is so, so painful and I wish the worst for the people who did this to her, I wish I could've seen more of their suffering in the epilogues but the epilogues are focusing on an AU ChuQing story and a side couple story, so nothing much to expect there.

While reading, I actually had to take a deep breath to write my... more>> thoughts about Zhou Yirou because as awful as Jiang Liaying is, Zhou Yirou pisses me off at every turn. Here's the writing:

Zhou Yirou's character is interesting in a sense that if she's trapped in a hole, she'd make the decision to dig deeper in the hole to find the way out instead of stopping to freaking think for a second of her next action. Seriously, it's a miracle that her company survives under this airhead. Sure, Jiang Yaling is a terrible human being, but at least she has a degree of awareness of her own horridness and puts up a front in front of most people. But Zhou Yirou? A total dumbass who probably thinks she's a good person and wonders why bad things happen to her when she's such a good person. I know the story sometimes try to play it off as if she's blinded by love and got manipulated by Jiang Yaling because of this but she's older than Jiang Yaling! And a company's president! Also what decent human being would keep someone as their mistress and treat the mistress as a substitute of the person they actually love despite knowing that the mistress has feelings for them? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE ZHOU YIROU.

Spoiler

I wish the author explores more of the family dynamic after Youqing returns since surely her parents didn't my miss the bad blood between their two daughters if they really care about both? We don't get any scenes of them sitting down to talk with Yaling at all and sure she is a horrible person, but her parents really drop the ball with the way they raise and treat her tbh.

Also, after seeing another review here, I'd just like to add: I think it's fair to give Youqing some grace since she was only around 19, powerless, moneyless, when her own company pressures her to drop out of the competition and when she desperately needs money, Zhou Yirou appears like a guardian angel in front of her and she is taken by this boss. At least she has the hindsight to start an idol account anonymously. It's easy to dismiss her as action as someone being blinded by love, sure, but at the time, for her, Zhou Yirou was the person who helped her uncle to save her mother. There's a sense of gratitude and debt there.

Nothing much to say about her sense of narcissism, I actually enjoy it. I'd recommend it to anyone with low self-esteem, it helps more than you know tbh. Youqing is also using it to motivate herself when everybody in the world is against her and it's a powerful tool that helps her survive so they'll never make me hate her for that reason.

[collapse]

All in all, definitely a recommended read. <<less

The story is pretty cute with no unnecessary misunderstandings etc... the one insanely annoying thing was how often the MC called herself a goddess and praised her own beauty... we get it.. you're beautiful... every other line almost was talking about how beautiful she was

Fun story, good characters, but it moves really fast. Sometimes there's multiple 1-3 month time skips in a single chapter. Not much side content with friends/family either despite it seeming to be something important to the protagonist. The 'villains' are almost pathetically useless but the story still feels like trotting them out over and over to get stomped on; I get that it's supposed to be pretty fluffy but at least some variation would be nice
