Qi Xiaoyu was a pillar of the Red Moon Troupe during the Republic of China period. He had a unique appearance, figure, and singing style. His ability to adapt to all kinds of people and situations is even more remarkable.

Meanwhile, Qi Xiaoyu, the starlet in the novel “Sick President Sadistically Loves Me”, is the complete opposite. As a small cannon fodder who had a “warding-off” wedding with the soon-to-be-dying President Xun in order to “wash away” his bad luck and “cure his illness,” this person is s*upid, conceited, arrogant, and proud of his beauty. He gave the president a green hat, coveted the president’s family property, framed the protagonist shou, and was finally sent to an asylum by the sick president, where he was locked up until he turned into an actual lunatic.

When Qi Xiaoyu transmigrated, it was the same night that he was sent to the sick president for the warding-off ceremony……

Well, I was first going to refute some of the negative comments, but then after thinking about it... they’re not THAT wrong (except the 1 star rating one... can’t accept it. Personally, I feel like no story deserves 1 star, idk, anyways.)

Tho I personally enjoyed this novel a lot (until now) idk I have problem continue reading whenever it gets to the real romance part / staring a relationship part... I may take a break from reading this for now (but only bc of personal feelings ahdksjks!!!!)

I find... more>> it intriguing that the person who transmigrated was from the „Republic of China period“ haha I haven’t seen that before~

OK SO, to that one star review, I just want to say that MC is not dumb?? Also he didn’t deserved to be cursed at, we should try not being rude~

considering his situation, where he firstly just wanted to survive and be nice to ML so that he won’t destroy his life in the future (like the novel plot) he’s just trying to not make ML unhappy... then he seems to have some budding feelings which are crushed pretty early on bc of the divorce paper etc. additionally he’s been worrying bc of MLs legs not healing if it’s bc he (MC) is trying to change the plot which backlashed in return. So bc of his slowly growing feeling, worries that ML would leave him later and pursue the original Shou according to the plot and his worry that he is the one causing ML to suffer (and maybe die) made him so „hat and cold“... also also, after that whole divorce stuff happened, he just closed himself off emotionally (especially regarding ML), which is totally understandable!

anyways, I’m pretty sure there is more to say, but in conclusion, in my opinion (and sorry I didn’t say earlier, ofc anyone can have their own) MC is definitely not s*upid. Just wanted to put my thoughts out there for those considering to read this and the first thing they see is this 1 star review... if I was a new reader, it’s really make me loose interest immediately or at least leave a lasting impression (tho it may just be me)

All in all I found this novel quite good, a light read. Wouldn’t give it 5 star, since.. idk it’s not unique, we still have that cruel CEO type ML who only pampers MC. But idk... guess MC is calmer and accepted his feelings sooner than others would, first doubting themselves etc. Though it’s a petty they couldn’t properly communicate, so that some small misunderstandings came to be.

Like the divorce letter that ML found and asked but until now hasn’t gotten an answer to. Or the „I Love You“ card MC left that the dog accidentally ate so ML never found but MC never asked about and ML never told him about. Also I don’t like lying much in a relationship and idk I don’t like how ML pretended to still be sick/still hasn’t healed his legs and need rehabilitation so as to get MC softhearted and help him... idk it would have been so much more wholesome (AND SHORTER) if they would have talked about some small things sooner.

In the end, yes there were and probably will still be some plot holes, but I think it’s definitely a novel you can give a try to! The translator is doing a good job and giving explanations with photos, and the mtl is readable! So yeah~ <<less

Love everything about this novel. Even though MC is quite OP because of his experience from his past life...

But it still made me read to the end..

Edit: although MC's mind is quite mature due to his experience from his childhood, readers must consider that he's not perfect. As the author had stated at the end of text he's just 23 when he transmigrated in the book.

It's quite frustrating to read, very inconsistent and kind of a mass.

MC used to be an opera singer, his new body is a singer, and while he does have to train it a bit to get up to his former standard, he mysteriously decides to become an actor.

Something he has no experience in but somehow does better than people who know how to act.

... more>> He's set up as clever and mature, then turns around and does the dumbest thing you could possibly do, causing chaos and misunderstandings wherever he goes.

It just so happens that he's never the one who suffers because of it, thanks to plot armour it always turns out to be good for him – it just never makes any sense.

MC is the typical self-insert Gary Stu with tons of talents and skills who never does anything wrong, who's always right, and at the right place at the right time to get benefits.

That would be fine, the problem here is that the main-character coating is so thick that the story is immensely bland and artificial, as well as his character a walking contradiction.

Of course he has the "tragic backstory" mandatory for writers who don't know how many stereotypical MC-traits are too many.

He's simply too perfect and the world too convenient for any kind of enjoyment to be found, you know exactly how everything will turn out after reading the first 10 or so chapters.

It's more or less one single formula reused countless times in the same novel.

Other characters aren't better, they are shallow and most of them nothing but plot devices.

Plot points are mentioned once then never again, they silently vanish into obscurity and leave you wondering why they were there in the first place.

There's a reason why the writer tends to include long comments every few chapters, because readers just can't buy nor understand what she's trying to do with the story and characters.

After 30 chapters, I'm pretty sure she herself didn't even know and made it up while writing, there's no rhythm to the plot or at least clear outline visible anywhere.

Two stars because there's nothing seriously wrong with it, it's just a case of an inexperienced writer not being good at writing (just yet). <<less

Not bad, but not good. Really more likes 2 star, but I enjoyed the beginning. Translation is great, but it is easy to MTL if you're impatient like I am.

I feel like chapters 1-66 are one novel and 67-106 is a different novel. The beginning hooked me in. It was a nice romantic pace, tidbits of both their histories were slowly connecting, we get a mysterious character then all of sudden the quality takes a turn for the worst.

Many unfinished or half finished story lines, the end was a bit... more>> abrupt, personalities changing over night, weird storylines, etc. The second half was just a mess.

I will say the ML has more personality than normal cold CEO types. The dog was a cute addition and the enemy turned friend was fun. MC was okay, typical Gary Stu.

Probably won't read this again even if when it is fully translated. The novel just left me too unfulfilled.

absolutely need to turn off your brain and not think about how someone from the Republic of China transmigrated to modern day and can drive, use a phone, navigate the subway/bus systems. He does it with no real astonishment either.

Everything after the dumb divorce went downhill. I could see working in a divorce and making the reason that ML found MCs divorce papers so he was setting him free, then down the road it coming out that it was a misunderstanding, but it's never really addressed! ML asks MC once about it vaguely while they are kissing and MC ignores it. Never brought up again.


Then we have to wait 15ish chapters of awkward, melancholy MC before they finally makeup. This is when the ML does a complete 180 and is the sleazy CEO type? Everything is baby this baby that. I don't mind these MLs, but the change gave me whiplash. The transitions were non existent.
We never really get more about the reborn villain. The death of the org MC father is lightly touched on, but isn't really explored. The MLs father and sisters death is never given details. MLs mom is kicked out of the country, not much actual face slapping there or change of heart from the mom. MCs family is vaguely brought up at the end and org MC disappears after his leg is broken in the snow horse race.

The whole thing with the winter horse race was a big eye roll, especially the random "no Chinese can win this" then ML proves Chinese can.


Then it goes into a whole peking opera bit which would make sense with MCs origins, but it was done so badly. I didn't bother with the extras, the first one is set in the Republic of China, which I'm not interested in and the second one is just MC and ML daily life after marriage.

I'm actually really enjoying this novel. I feel like the MC and the ML will mesh well in the future when their romance begins. So far, we've seen hints of them understanding one another, which is so nice.

I'm also really glad it's focusing on the MC's career in showbiz, I'm excited to read more.

Our MC starts off with seemingly high eq and at least a moderate iq but it all goes downhill. Our ML starts off as a repressed as*hole with issues, rude and inconsiderate and he transforms towards the end in a quasi normal dude that frankly, I thought he got his soul swapped too or something. Would have been nice if he was kinder to our MC earlier (ffs letting our MC walk for miles because he was so repressed and assholish that he didn’t want to lent him a car from his dozens wth). I don’t know why the MC fell for him (except that he was lonely and too much of a considerate pushover). I stayed reading in the hopes to see at least a good wife chasing lol, that took like 3 chapters not even. Sure, ML is suddenly open and talking and affectionate and stuff. MC eating that up and just gets back to him forgetting how he tried to get closer before just to be shut out (while in the hospital &hurt too). I’m angry for him why isn’t he? And how dumb are you MC to risk your life for a videotape? That horse race makes no sense. Lol, I don’t even want to read any extras. Sure they were cute and fluffy but no. ML ruined it when he dumped MC while in hospital and straight up divorced him when MC came to give him his birthday present. MC ruined it when after he pulled himself together after divorce and got into business and stuff, he just forgave and forgot everything so easily. Wth. Dude moved your stuff out while you were in a coma and gave you divorce papers for your efforts in organizing his birthday&present, his “nice” staff completely ignore you when ML is in a bad mood and acting up and you just get back together? Just like that? No talk, no chasing, no anger at all? Suddenly everything is fluffy? I’m angry.

We have a MC who can do everything, singing, acting, cooking, horse riding, fighting, you name it.

We have ML who is like OP just by sitting in his wheel chair.

Both have terrible family and child hood situations. So loner attracts loner scenario.

... more>> The plot just get thrown out the window, the original Shou never shows up beside in 2 segments where he doing dumb things. Every villain get one shot when they try to mess with MC with his plot armor.

I don't know how they fall in love when they don't see each for days and months. It was kinda ridiculous to me when ML keep letting MC go, treat him like crap and MC just go do his acting jobs for weeks and months and they are like super close without doing anything out of no where. Also ML personality shift was too abrupt for me. It;s like a switch he went from one word acting cool to a pampering sweet husband. The romance is just too inconsistent this novel, I feel cheated. I wanted to see how they relationship develop by spending more time together in the early stage. MC was cooking and singing for him, then it just stop after his dumb acting career came in.

I also don't understand why MC just not focus on his singing career I mean with his former background.. I don't get why acting is even needed here. MC singing is enough to me

Also we don't get answers from some plot holes, like some random guy also gets reborn and then gets destroyed by ML in 2 seconds. The sister who ML always remembers, no POV from him to see why she left such a deep impression on ML. Also why did MC's female friend end up with that 2nd rich generation who was so awful in the beginning., she rejected him countless times.

You can read the novel and admire the MC for his multiple abilities and his clever ways to deal with people and still maintains his image. There's also the cute dog for any animal lovers. <<less

An opera singer transmigrate in the modern Entertainment novel world... Does someone at that time have a grand vision about modern world, culture and social media to include it on their novel? Ok, Maybe it's Sciences fics just like us make Stars Wars or something.

MC is described as emotionally intelligent and mature. But he is passive, while the ML is dominant but cold, and passionate like a wife s*ave in the end. The novel focus on their relationship but not deeply explain it.

The plot is very.. Gray. I feel like... more>> the author just take this and that Troupe. So it's mix up and that's it. Everything about the villain was taken care by the ML in silent way somehow. Even the readers don't know what happen and how to them.

So, if you like instant ending and don't care about the plot hole, then it's okay <<less

It was a simple and straightforward romance and career story. I enjoyed how the story focused strongly on MC's career without the romance taking over completely once the MC and ML got together. Usually in these types of stories, the romance would take over completely after mutual confession (which is still fun to read) but the career line (and therefore the more interesting part) gets super weak and almost nonexistent. Thankfully that didn't happen here.

MC is almost OP and faces almost zero issues. The antagonists have a weak presence. One... more>> major plot hole imo is how MC transmigrated from an older time period without the OG body's memories and still managed to be okay from day one in modern times. Granted MC had memories of the book (which is also???how did he understand the book references) but I was a bit surprised it wasn't a bigger issue. Ofc conveniently MC was estranged from his father, has no other family, and no friends.

Overall I'd recommend to those interested in light romance. <<less

This novel is suffocating me with the Mystery because a certain character who tried to mess with MC!

I just want MC and ML to get together already!!! The tension...!!!

The development between MC and ML before feel neutral for someone like them, with their unique Characteristics and all.

And it's not weird to see them fall for each other. Mostly at the beginning, I was wondering how MC could fall for someone like ML. But ML, he improved when he think or around MC. And he does makes MC feeling warm and... more>> happy.

Their relationship could grow smooth if not for the fact Drama and Mystery exist...

I just pray so hard the rest of the story have Clear Conclusion and Satisfying ending!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Truly Love how they develop their Romantic Relationship. I'm glad they don't do Angst stuff even when ML had a moment to lie about his condition to have MC sympathy with him. Lol his Butler and Aunty help the lie too so they could 'Remarry'. Lol

Anyway when they did get together everything is Lovely.

The Faceslapping also nicely done without making any exaggerated moment.

The Extras was a solid plot. Still related to the Main Text, but man... More emotional. HE though THANK GOD.

All in All I Enjoy and Absolutely LOVE THIS NOVEL!!! <<less

Wanted to give it a fair chance, so I read until I lost most of my interest.

MC is not really doing anything. ML is just there. Lacking chemistry between leads. Useless (and often annoying) side characters.

Not worth a read, but I did enjoy the translation and all the notes and pictures the TL left at the end of every chapter.

If you like their translation and do not have little to any preferences, give it a try only for them.

Wahhhh u guys who say this not so good almost tricked me, this story absolutely my liking. If u ever read something I forgot the name (moonlight something) that MC is also from Republic era (but he is a bank owner) I personal prefer this story more than that bank owner (just for the romance content), MC ML love story is like a sweet sour and fizzy lemonade, it does contains parts that can be make u frustrated but not so worse that u want to stop reading it (u... more>> may feel ''why the hell he so s*upid'' but then again when u remember ML struggle from his childhood trauma, and many more, what both of them done is actually in line with their setting).

I find MC ML all consistent with their character and ofc both of them Sometimes became a bit low (impulsive) bcs love but they know and in the end they understand each other, their problem is based by their past, u can't do nothing about it, especially bcs author twist (I like it tho, it makes us understand more about MC and ML inner struggle, so it not just fluffy, rainbow, dotting with money, drowning wealth and so on). Oh and the extras.. Omg.. I love it so so much! It's a complete meal for me I start with 3.9 ratings maximum expectation, and got 4.3 maximum in the end. I'm Happy (ps: maybe bcs I was relax I can read it with more easy feeling tho I still cry a bit, but if u want something with no much up and down better keep this for later lmao) <<less

I'm not really leaving a review, though I have enjoyed it as mindless "turn off your brain and enjoy it" fluff, that accomplished right what it set out to do, and there's no complaints to be had on that point. Sometimes you want a steakhouse, and sometimes you want a diner, and this is a diner, and just bc the steak ain't dry aged doesn't mean a good old school salt and pepper and a little worchestershire T-bone and eggs with a side of pancakes isn't good. Guys. For the love of the gods. Do none of you know what an opera is. It is absolutely insane behavior to claim he has "zero experience in acting" because he was an opera singer. That's like saying a Broadway star has "zero experience in acting" because they're a "singer and dancer". Opera singers are actors. My gods. Just because they're singing the story and not speaking it doesn't mean it's somehow not a story with characters they are actively portraying. There's plenty of Broadway plays that are JUST music and no spoken lines. Actually, that is the majority of Broadway productions. It's still acting. It's the same with opera.

If I DID have to complain about something, it's that his transition to the screen was too seamless, and there was no emphasis on overcoming the hurdles of stage acting versus film/TV acting. There could have been more struggle there, but to claim he had "no acting experience" at ALL is just insane. There are definitely different rules in stage acting versus screen acting, because with the stage, everything has to be exaggerated, because you are one person on a stage with people in the nosebleeds you have to reach and convey the story to, so everything is "bigger" so they can clearly see and understand without the assistance of a full-blown IMAX screen, from projection to gestures to expression. That's my only gripe about the transition. Other than that, it was literally fine.
