The last guardian of her world—Haga Mayumi—finally escaped the trap of immortality and embraced the eternal sleep she had longed for… after watching her world fall to ruin.

But when she opened her eyes again, she had been reincarnated into another world.

And this world… was bizarre.

Here, the guardians never get hurt, never bleed. They don’t end up covered in dust and dirt after battle. Their sparkling magic keeps their clothes pristine, and somehow, no matter how much they fly around in frilly skirts, there’s never a wardrobe malfunction.

The guardians of this world are called “magical girls,” with brightly colored hair and flashy outfits. No one knows their true identities.

Or at least, that’s what people say.

But for some reason, Mayumi keeps running into familiar faces—her childhood friend, her classmate, the new transfer student, the school nurse… even that idol she once saw on TV. All of them just so happen to have rare, vibrant hair colors that perfectly match those of the magical girls.

And yet… no one notices anything strange.

Ridiculous.

But what Mayumi doesn’t know is this: in this cheerful, kid-friendly world, the most ridiculous thing of all…

…is her.

The girl who bleeds, who can sew her own severed arm back on and move it again in three minutes, who can blow herself up like a grenade and still regenerate from a puddle of gore—

—is her.

I wont write a whole review because I'm lazy, and binge read until 6 am, but its pretty good. Stellar did a stellar job with the translation (see what I did there?) with only the occasional hiccup. Not even the pronoun hiccups, just the occasional accidental pressing of space twice and misplaced letter leftover from an edit. Solid 7/10 translation, with a 10/10 being an impossible standard and 5/10 being average.

Plot itself is pretty ok, if you searched this by tags and are offput a bit by the description I... more>> can assure you that you will probably be getting what you wanted out of this. The summary provided on the site isn't the best, and honestly you should just ignore it. I enjoyed it, the other review is right about some names and certain phrases. I see no issue since it isn't to the point where the work is actually derivative, I wouldn't have noticed had I not read their review in advance or played BOTW recently. <<less

So, this story is okay. But there's a major problem with it - it "borrows" HEAVILY from Zelda Breath of the Wild. To the point where it's almost a reskinned Zelda fan fiction.

So at the point I'm at, right? They're having a boss fight. The "Boss" is a "dragon of wisdom" corrupted by the "calamity" covered in gooey black stuff and eyeballs, which they shoot with bomb arrows while flying around on a paraglider. She uses magic to briefly freeze it in time - which is described as "golden chains... more>> catching it". They then craft an "ancient arrow" to kill it. When describing the same dragon in the original world pre corruption, she shoots it with arrows to make it drop its scales... Dude this is just Lanayru?

That's just one example from one scene... but it kinda goes that way all the way through. Just read it and you'll see what I mean, it's not subtle. The world building is undercut by the realization that much of it is a blatant ripoff. There's a LOT to like about it and it had huge potential, but it would have been much better built on a foundation of original content. <<less
