When Takashi Madarame came to, he found himself inside a pitch-dark cave. There was no exit—just earth all around—and the only thing in front of him was a single glowing stone. When he touched the stone, letters floated into view, reading:

“Welcome, Dungeon Master.”

For some reason, I’ve become a Dungeon Master. I figured I might as well try running the dungeon, but the place is full of incomprehensible rules, leaving me completely tied down. To make matters worse, there is a big city nearby, and at this rate, my dungeon will be conquered in no time.

Back in my old world, I was a hopeless gambling addict. So, instead of having adventurers conquer my dungeon, I decided to have them tackle something else entirely.
