Those who have previously read anything penned by Zig would roughly know what they're getting into if they pick this up. Those who are familiar with the Millers in Kiss me if you can, Desire me if you can, and Lick me if you can would have a rough idea of what to expect, but probably need to be warned that there's a reason Dominic Miller is the

He sets Dominic Miller as his next target and it would turn out to be the biggest mistake that would cost him his life and future.

Dominic Miller is a reputed lawyer, and an Extreme Alpha, and if you're familiar with Zig's omegaverse universe and the Millers, you already know what that means. Though he seems to be the worst of the lot in my opinion.

Spoiler

Dominic's revenge and obsession with the Gamma Juliet takes a dark turn as he transitions him to an Omega, and eventually forces him to bear his child. This child is Ashley, our ML in Lick me up if you can, and also the father of Chase (Kiss me), Grayson (Desire), Nathaniel (Run away), and Bliss (Deflower).

This is a novel that serves to help us understand the cycle of ab*se and toxicity within the Miller family and why the main characters we know are the way they are.

Spoiler

I have not read Lick me up if you can, but I assume Ash was also ab*sed by Dominic and/or watched as his own daddy was ab*sed by Dominic (if Juliet were still alive).

Dominic Miller × Ashley Juliet Dawson - The Beginning of the Millers

For some reason, I can't edit the ratings, but this is a solid 2.5 for me.

This is where it all begins—the twisted origin of the infamous Miller bloodline. And of course, it starts with one of the most unhinged toxic × toxic dynamics in the entire series. Both are dangerous in their own right, but one of them takes it so much further that the word "monstrous" starts to feel like an understatement.

Ashley Juliet Dawson is a master... more>> manipulator. The kind of man who smiles as he dismantles your entire world, piece by piece, all while pretending it's affection. Cold, calculating, and ruthlessly ambitious, Ashley will do anything to make his parents proud. That includes seducing his school counselor to avoid suspension and later, luring Dominic Miller into his trap—all for power, legacy, and the illusion of control.

Spoiler

Their story kicks off when Ashley convinces Dominic to join their law firm. Ashley promises he'd do anything for him, and Dominic—naturally—is intrigued. At first, it's a game. Ashley keeps trying new ways to tempt Dominic into joining. Dominic resists... but when Ashley repeats those words—"I'd do anything"—Dominic suggests a challenge: chess.

They start meeting regularly under the guise of these chess matches. But it becomes more than that. Sexually charged from the beginning, they fall into bed with each other, night after night. And despite Ashley being a gamma—a rare secondary gender immune to pheromones—Dominic continues to coat him in pheromones, pouring them into the air. Ashley can't smell it. Can't be influenced by it. He doesn't react like an omega or even a beta would.

This infuriates Dominic. He wants a reaction. But Ashley stays cool, unaffected, and that only draws Dominic deeper. Eventually, he falls for the illusion Ashley spins. He even custom-designs a ring for him—because no store-bought piece could ever be enough to capture Ashley Juliet. He transfers firms, leaving everything behind just to be by his side.

But just when Dominic is about to propose, Ashley drops a bomb: he's getting married. Not out of love—out of power. He's marrying the daughter of the firm's chairman to solidify his place, to climb higher. He says things like, "I only slept with you so I could marry her, " and "You've done the same to others—why is it any different when I do it to you?"

It breaks Dominic. And Dominic is not a man who breaks quietly and definitely not a man who would let something like this go.

What follows is pure horror. Dominic lures Ashley back under the pretense of a final conversation. Ashley hesitates—he knows something is off—but he agrees. Then, Dominic drugs him. Kidnaps him. Chains him up for decades. Breaks both his ankles to prevent escape. Forces mutation after mutation until Ashley, a gamma, is turned into an omega—something he was never meant to be.

Dominic violates him constantly. The narrative grows heavier with Ashley's internal thoughts—his hopelessness, his desperate fantasies of running to the sea, of breathing freely again. But there's no escape. He's kept locked in a nightmare, tormented physically, emotionally, and biologically. Eventually, he becomes pregnant with Dominic's child.

That child becomes Ashley Dominic Miller, the main character in Lick Me Up If You Can and the father of Chase (Kiss Me If You Can) and Grayson (Desire Me If You Can).

[collapse]

In Lick Me Up If You Can, Ashley Juliet is long gone (I would explain later why so). His presence, however, lingers like a ghost. It's only Dominic now—older, crueler, and somehow even more terrifying than before. His son refers to Ashley Juliet as if he's a myth, a whispered memory. To Dominic, however, Ashley never faded.

He refers to his son, Ashley Dominic, as his second most prized possession.

The first? Ashley Juliet.

Their son, Ashley Dominic, talks about their parents' relationship—or more specifically, Ashley Juliet's situation. He says:

Spoiler

> "All he could do was lay there and glare at the man (Dominic), just like 'Ashley' had. Because that's all Ashley could do too."

[collapse]

He also admits he's afraid of Dominic—because deep down, he fears he'll end up like Ashley Juliet or that he might inherit the same madness as Dominic.

Dominic even has several point of view in their son's story. Just like :

Spoiler

> "Just thinking about his pitifully beautiful omega who could do nothing but scream curses at him made him ache to wrap his arms around him and church his insides."

['I'll run away from you someday. I swear I will.' – Ashley Juliet]

But he never did. He never could.

When Ashley Juliet died, Dominic burned the mansion down with himself still inside. After keeping Ashley imprisoned for years, he chose to die beside him. For most of Ashley Dominic's adulthood, reason why Dominic and Ashley Juliet weren't present in their son's story. Dominic was too obsessed with 'taking care of' the ill Ashley Juliet.

That fire was the first time in decades that the world heard of Ashley Juliet again. His captivity. Until then, he had vanished.

[collapse]

There are even moments where Dominic tells his son that if only he defied him the way Ashley did—if he cursed at him, fought back—it would've been more entertaining.

Looking back, Ashley Juliet isn't the cold genius I once assumed he was. Strip away the armor and you'll see a boy desperate to please. To be seen. To be worthy of love—or at the very least, acknowledgment. He played the part well, but he played it against the wrong man.

And the cost? Was everything.

That's what makes his character so fascinating. He never loved Dominic. Never truly did. There's guilt, yes. Remorse, even. But never affection. Never romance. That detail matters—it stops the narrative from glamorizing what happened to him.

Dominic Miller is by far the most terrifying Miller in the bloodline. No one else comes close. His son doesn't touch him. His grandsons? Not even in the same league. Dominic belongs in his own category—a class of cruelty that transcends even the darkest characters in the series.

In Lick Me Up If You Can, we see how deeply his legacy has infected the next generation. The way he treats his son mirrors the way he "loved": obsessive, violent, possessive, and pathologically controlling. Nathaniel, his eldest grandson, is later described as having a cruel streak "just like Dominic." But let's be real—Dominic's cruelty is an entirely different breed.

Ashley thought he was the most dangerous man in the room. He wasn't. He toyed with fire. And he didn't just get burned—he was consumed and forgotten.

And in the ashes? Only the Miller legacy remains. <<less

Too few warnings in tags, ratings are low mainly because people don't know what they're getting into.

The action could have gone in a more bearable direction but the author probably didn't want to drag this novel out... the last chapters were hard to read (and im my opinion was illogical). I hope there won't be any extra chapters.
