Neim is a rare condition that appears in only a handful of people around the world, and it comes with painful symptoms that can only be alleviated through consistent contact with the person.

The name that appeared on pianist Yeon Doha’s body belonged to a famous figure who had mysteriously vanished from London a year ago—Tristan Locke, the most beloved nobleman in Britain.

As Doha’s body gradually becomes paralyzed, he finally discovers Tristan, hidden away in the depths of a Scottish forest after months of searching. To his shock, he finds that Tristan does not bear his name.

Without Tristan Locke, Doha cannot survive, but Tristan, a heteros*xual man, coldly rejects any contact with him. Desperate to regain his lost life, Doha has no choice but to cling to a man who has no need for him…

Oof this is a rough ride.

If y'all need a good cry, this is for you. Excellently written and full of feels.

I'm finding it particularly cathartic (and triggering) because I had to sit by as my Gram slowly became trapped in a withering, pain-wracked, petrifying body just like the MC. I hope I go by sudden heart attack because that is like hell. At least the MC has a way out.

Anyways. I won't spoil things, but if you're in the mood for HE (?) tragedy without the usual dog blood tropes,... more>> this is a good one. <<less

Okay so, this will take you through a roller coaster of emotions!

This is beautifully written and the love they share is just described to perfection! like Shakespeare could never-

If you can get through the first few chapters where everything is just because of the disease, I promise you, it is amazing. I feel a little sad because I can't help but wonder how much has got lost in translation.

Spoiler

It is a happy ending if you are wondering. But you have to go through a lot of pain first.

It goes like this:

Scotland Arc where it's all focused on healing Doha (the MC). Tristan (ML) and Doha form a beautiful connection here, even with the rough start. Tristan falls HARD. He fell for Doha first and he fell HARDER and harder every time. You can actually see the way they gradually start liking each other.

In love arc, This is honestly my absolute favourite. It's when Doha is healed and they return to London. You can see that they are in love and they both know it. They have these stolen moments and just... you need to read it to understand. The secretive moments, the gifts, the phone calls, the stolen kisses and the way they gaze at each other... my god this is peak romance. (if you are a swiftie listen to illicit affairs because the song fits the mood)

The final arc where you wanna rip your hair out while crying. PAIN. PURE PAIN. Love was not enough, and Doha does something really drastic despite Tristan begging him not to. Tbh Doha needed to do that in a way. It's the reality that you didn't want to face.

There is a time skip but Doha finds Tristan at the end and they have a happy/open ending.

Few points:

All the characters are just adorable. The puppy is super cute and is like a breath of fresh air. Everyone will fall in love with Jean (the chef). He is 100% the mood maker!

A lot of people might not like the secretary (Lowell) but I like him. He is the voice of reason and acts based on logic/facts. He comes off as coldhearted and insensitive but honestly? I liked that he was like that. He had one purpose and one purpose only.
