However, in this lifetime. A mysterious cosmic network descended upon the world, resembling a vast and authentic great world. Even the living Emperors of the era, with their heaven-reaching abilities, could not shake this cosmic network or uncover its secrets.

Qin Feng dozed off for a thousand years, and upon waking, he learned about the cosmic network. His curiosity was piqued, so he entered to take a look. However. The moment he stepped in, countless anomalies erupted across the cosmic network world, as if an ancient sovereign had arrived, as if an Emperor was making a grand procession!

His name instantly appeared on the cosmic network’s online rankings—straight to the top. And his verified identity was actually… Emperor!

This story is a tragedy of writing. First, the positive: concepts. The random concepts thrown about in this story are interesting and, had they been properly developed, could've brought the novel to big heights. The negatives are: fluff as opposed to development. Fluff in this story is tied to the lack of development in that, the author willingly injects useless words, time lengths, or adjectives, just to extend the word length. In contrast, of the many concepts the author has, the author either develops them only to a mediocre conclusion... more>> or doesn't development them at all.

I will say a few things before just spoilering the rest as, honestly, a lot of the flaws are tied to the overarching story. If you aren't willing to view a full plot synopsis, don't open the spoiler.

The few additional points are: if you expect traditional cultivation, you won't find it here. The cultivation system is that of dao, as in concepts and ideas. It is not about "oh, I have to form my nascent soul" or something. If you are expecting any true conflict in this story, you will not find it. This is a purely an exploratory story, where you explore the world with the main character (because it does this so minimally, and instead uses fluff, the novel harms itself).

I'm just going to spoiler the rest of the review. It's 170 chapters, so it's almost necessary.

Look, here is a summary of the story. You have a character, Qin Feng. He is a cultivator.

In the first phase of the story he is in a closed off world, called a "black box" in the story. In this world he cultivates to reach an Emperor level. However, our main character has a cheat, he is immortal but cannot ascend to be an Emperor normally. The normal route is similar to in "Emperor's Domination" if you're familiar, where you shoulder the Heaven's Will. He takes time to cultivate in this world, discovering things about this inner world as he progresses, hinting at a world outside the black box. The author never delves into traditional cultivation. From the get-go, our character has done all of that and is now attempting to bridge the gap between non-Emperor and Emperor through side-methods. A key aspect is his cultivation of dao, done by understand a concept fully, such as thunder. Eventually, he does reach the point of Heavenly Emperor and understands the implications of the outside of the blackbox. As a result, he ultimately survives when the black box is opened from the outside and enters the greater world.

Once in the greater world, the concept goes from Emperor to Divinity. Here, the idea is to cultivate the concept, that is dao, of someone else in an attempt to gain a handle of a dao, or to establish your own dao. The prior makes you a "God Lord" per the translation, the latter makes you a "Supreme God" per the translation. Supreme God is above all in this context. Due to how Qin Feng developed himself into an Emperor via daos and concepts, he already had a handle on dao and, the very act of handling multiple daos he turns into his own dao system: Myriad Phenomena. Like in the black box, things repeat. He reaches the pinnacle and explores the mysteries of this greater world and realizes there is an ever bigger-er world. Specifically, he learns that the next step is that of order, actually establishing Laws, existing independent of all things. Due to his unique dao system, he easily bridges this gap that no one else could, and leaves for the bigger-er world.

Once in the bigger-er world, although he can establish Laws via his order powers, strength is correlated to how he defines the concept of Emperor as, in this next stage, he is once again an Emperor, an "order" Emperor. So, the first step was to cultivate to the Emperor realm, then to grasp dao, then to form dao, culminating in a power of order, leading back into how to truly grasp what an Emperor is. He does this via battles and mortal world experiences: enlightenment. Once again, Qin Feng speeds through this, reaching the end. The last part is to understand what a First Emperor is. At first, it's confusing what this means in the story, but, again, it's the concept. Qin Feng is meant to understand what the concept of being the "First" Emperor (basically true creator diety) is. He does this, and finally ascends. You'd think his ascension would mean he'd become the primary emperor, but it's instead just revealed that he isn't the true "First Emperor" as, as much as it's a concept, it is also a person, so the powers are not meant to be his. Since his dao system is so potent for adapting, however, he adapts and does take control. Then the novel ends.

At a glance, you might think it's interesting, skip the bs of cultivating qi, straight into concepts, exploring what they mean, the conflict of ideals, along with exploration in a whole new world, but no. The story isn't that deep.

I think the way I would've made this story more enjoyable would've been to keep the same mystery present in the black box section. Although our character grows more powerful, the whole point of this greater world cop out is to scale with that, therefore, it is reasonable to have new mysteries for him to explore. These mysteries are mentioned, but they're resolved in mere sentences of saying he explored and deduced as opposed to giving an interesting plot and revelation. Like, I could dare say, even in the crappy last section, I could've enjoyed it if the exploration of the other attempted First Emperor ascenders corpses was written in a more "exploring the tomb, uncovering secrets" kind of way.
