When I woke up after a pretty crappy death, what greeted me was one of those famous fantasy worlds! I didn’t expect anything like becoming the strongest with a common job, or rising to the top with the weakest class…

All I wanted was to live a slow farming life, but the world just wouldn’t leave me alone! And so I equally backstabbed good people and bad people alike, becoming a villain with a true sense of equality and just when I was about to retire and enjoy a proper life on a farm…

“Master!”

My former disciple at the evil organisation, currently the hero of justice came looking for me. Can’t you all just leave me alone?

It's funny, really.

However, the story's progress is so damn slow. This is because the change in POV is so frequent, that 1 scene took like 3 POV or so. There are times when you want to read every single letter, yet there are times when you want to just skip a chapter (or more).

If you're quite patience, you might enjoy reading it. And if you leave the novel in the middle, and then return after a long time, you'll be very confused. Since there are so many characters to keep... more>> track, and they use "certain (occupation/status) POV", it just became more confusing.

If you can, unless you have a very good memory, read as much as you can without changing to other novels.

Other than that, the story is decent, not the worst, not the best. Sometimes when it's funny, it's really funny. You might find the MC's personality quite annoying, though. If you like action packed stories, definitely not for you. <<less

This novel is laugh out funny, the beginning was a little confusing. However, as the story progresses, it does get more interesting and especially love how there are all sorts of twists and turns. I would love to see someone pick up the translation for this novel.

Warning from me, this novel is certainly NSFR. (Not Safe For Ribs)

You will suffer and so will your ribs from laughter. This is simply that good, even the original is worth it. Stumbled upon this right on the virus quarantine, and it was so worth it.

story : 4/5

characters : 5/5 (I'd even want to make it 6/5 x'D)

writing : 4.5/5

... more>> translation : 4.5/5

Let's say this for first : this is a comedy, 100% comedy with a tons of references about other novels/anime.

The world-building is not much but we have an idea about what's important with not much incoherence :)

The story is about a reincarnator who didn't get any cheats, just, revived as a villager since birth and with no mana to boot. Because of few events to build the setting, he became an instructor for an evil organization.

Now, what's so good about this novel, because yes, it's so friggin' good x'D

The characters are not 2D at all, you get multiples PoV every chapter and end up getting attach to each of their characters. The story is written with enough fore-shadowing and coherence that makes it really interesting. But ! The biggest + from this novel is the comedy. The comedy is pure gold. All praise the metal bat. Goddess of mercy that- *caugh* sorry, I was going astray there... The comic is a bit like baka to test to shoukanju but more about schadenfraud I guess ? You'll learn that any situation can always be worst and that there's nothing of certainty while reading this story xD

the author apparently did one run on this novel before stopping to do a remake (a bit like The Man Picked up by the Gods which got a remake because the author wasn't satisfied about his/her work). The translation from eevee (praise the metal bat) is good with a few error here and there but the translation is done well with explanation on most references too.

tldr : A gold comedy to read if you want to laugh, give it a try, you won't be disappointed ;) <<less

I enjoyed reading this. Years ago I had read the original version and was sad it wasn't fully translated yet. What a treat to have discovered this rewrite years later. The scene where the princess falls in love with the hero reads is the most beautiful romantic scene I have ever had the privilege to read. The Yugrasia arc is one of my favorite comedy arcs. The intermittent flashback scenes are a great "closed" plot with only 3 characters.

The whole concept of the men running away from the yandere girls... more>> is funny, but it's boring when all the "romantic" interactions play out the same way. It was fine when it was only Ast and his bar host student running away at every opportunity, but when you have a third character (the Hero and princess) undergoing the same development it gets stale. It makes sense for Ast, but the less mature hero should be more conflicted. It's funnier if at first he is strongly tempted to give in but has to force himself away (or even falls to temptation), but slowly we see his journey to become immune to beauty like Ast or for him to develop venustraphobia. Instead the hero at one point just thinks "something feels eerie about this princess" and then suddenly loses all attraction to her. Why not have the scenes be more fleshed out? All romantic scenes are just the men immediately trying to run away; why not write these scenes to have more romantic tension and interest even if the end result is still the man fleeing?

The characters were a part of what made the story hilarious, but after the Yugrasia arc the characters become stagnant. In each time skip all of the characters are simply copy and pasted with the only change being that their age is +5 years. For example, the character Reia does not change at all. In the flashbacks she felt like a person who happened to be the bu*t of eternally single jokes, but afterwards her entire character is just a setup to jokes that she is not married yet. A scene of her failing a date would have been neat. Also, despite being a main heroine/villian, the Imperial Princess is mainly a footnote outside of flashback chapters. She is such a great character, and has so much more potential than just the passing mentions. Maybe she could have been researching an upgrade to the silver bat that even worked on the protagonist, or maybe we would get scenes of a Yugrasia with a crazy Princess's twist on it. The author has done a great job with these characters, and they need to interact with each other more. Unlike the Yugrasia arc or flashback arc, the story later becomes

too plot driven and the characters feel lifeless (That said, I'm only on CH 220.)

Alice's lack of character development dissappointed me the most. I honestly thought that his daughter would be a dissenting voice aginst her father's antics, because she is the only person that Ast actually listens to (There's a scene when they're still on the farm where she scolds him for lazing around, and she also was willing to give him the silent treatment for months in the Fried Chicken Protest.) I thought this would end up with a comedic twist where she ends up being very opinionated and sometimes in opposition to Ast's plans. I had also thought she would try to matchmake him with the Princess (this was after she and the metal bat consulted with their neighbor about getting their father hitched.) Instead she just gets a rare passing mention as the head of the Chicken department and is just Ast's cute little healing daughter.

At the point I'm at the schadenfreude humor has started getting stale with the Demon continent arc, as the main joke (the demons have to s*ave away at paperwork) is a shadow to the creative mayhem in the Yugrasia arc. Nevertheless I still enjoyed the work a lot. I will be looking forward to seeing the rest translated. <<less

It's fun if you aren't used to this particular gimmick. I am someone who is extremely jaded with most of the new wave genres like litRPG, VRMMORPG, Reincarnation, Portal Fantasy, Dungeon Core, etc. But I am not jaded with this series.

I fully admit, the negative reviews are absolutely correct in the flaws they describe. However, those are only a problem if you are jaded with the series. I am a sadist, so I think I am biased to like the series. Other people are probably different and may find this... more>> just as bad as many other poorly told reincarnation series. <<less

Great premise, though sad about the authors writing style. He focuses way too much on side plots and then stretches them out dbz style for like 20 chapters. Annoying as all hell.

This story is great when it focuses on the pov of the MC and those interacting with him, but then the author switcher povs constantly to other characters who arent really interesting. The school arc was so uninteresting and when it finally ends and we are back to Ast interacting with others the story picks up. Just wish there was more focus in ast and less focus on random characters.

The story is HILARIOUS (for me) if you can get past all the bat beatings and such. Reading about an antihero's adventure in a fantasy without being some unkillable force is really enjoyable. Especially since we still don't even know the depths of Ast/Naruan/whatever else you want to call him's hidden cards.

This story is grate. Jokes, ideas, unexpected plot changes, logical behavior of characters, juicy subcharacters - 5 stars!

But these pov changes... It's like when you took 100 quests in the game and trying to fix them simultaneously. Because of this you just don't feel a story behind of the quests. Same here, author is throwing great scens but overall it feels bland.

Anyway it's still 5 stars... If you can survive pain of pov changes

This is the first novel I've ever dropped so early on, and the reason is the POV changes.

I have not idea what the author was expecting to accomplish with this. He starts off with a good prologue and then chapter 1 kicks off a flashback. So far so good, except it's weird that I still don't even know the MC's name yet.

Then the story immediately has another time skip and after that point it's a complete clusterf***. How far have we skipped forward? To when the MC is starting off... more>> his training, or past that point to when he's an instructor? Is Naruan the name of the MC, or the name of the MC's teacher? Why do these scenes seem so repetitive already?

By the time I eventually figured out the answer to all these questions my motivation for reading any more evaporated. <<less

Honestly it's a great story and I really enjoyed it. Moreover I'm a fan of anti-heroes and villains characters. So I'm really in love with the MC. However, I hate the plots that while entertaining, seems to drag on further and further and makes me bored.

I might continue to read this again not anytime soon.

If the author didn't make the s*upid dizzying pov transitioning, this novel would have been much greater. The novel is funny but it offsets the mood when changing perspective.

But still a hidden gem that should be read when you want a funny novel to read.

I just binged this yesterday+today. It's very solid, extremely good/fun. It's a little slow at first, but characters seem to have real personality and character-development and it has funny references to other series. The translation isn't perfect, but it's very good nonetheless and it's clear that the translator is putting in a lot of effort especially to find all the references to CN/WN/LN/KN stuff... Hmm, other than that I'd say that this series is very interesting and fresh and different. Give it some time since it actually has a lot... more>> of surprising development and all of the characters introduced seem to matter. <<less

A great fun novel to read if your tired of reading similar novels that focus on power leveling, harems, and women. The MC does a great job of being really interesting compare to other novels MC's.

What can I say...

Its a funny story and it gives a new wind in the reincarnation novels.

The MC is the villian. And I mean he is the villian of villians ?

... more>> A little checlist from him:

Choppe down the world tree.... check

From the wood make a bat.... check

Hit my ungreatful disciplin, because they want to thank me for my training methods.... check

Ungreatful bastards.... check

Yes because he is so good in his job (really he is the best, all his disciplins are the creme de la creme in their kind of field. Even the drop-outs get a job) he is in the sight of every (job) headhunter. <<less

Honestly I cant say I remember much about the story, but character interaction carried this one.

As other people said theres a lot of jumping. Knowing whether youre in the past, present, future, all at the same time or neither is hard. But it doesnt change the fact the dynamics are fun. At first I thought maybe the MC was a bit crazy but oh boy.. He got one upped real quick. I think you can probably count the amount of sane characters in this novel on one hand, (of... more>> course that's what makes it interesting though even I felt a bit sympathy towards him sometimes) <<less

Two things you need to understand coming in to this. First off there will be massive time jumps both forward and backwards in times during the story. Second off is that multiple chapters will have the same scenario be repeated with the same dialogue sans the text describing the point of view character internal monologue. Both of these things will make it hard for you to stick with this story if the humor in it falls flat for you. The only way you will recall anything in this story is... more>> that it made you laugh. I enjoy this story a lot due to the humor. I can go months without reading a new chapter and still recall all the major events in it countless chapters back, since all the story threads connect and immerse me as the reader so well.

This story might be my all time favorite fictional work. Yet is also a massive time sink. I'm a slow reader, yet I find myself coming back to it no matter what. Few parody stories have made me ever laughed. Not a single other one besides this has made me laugh each time I reread old chapters in it. I especially hold the side stories near and dear to me, and keep them bookmarked on multiple sites and apps I use. I can't describe half of the things that happen with in this story without some how mucking up the maticulous setup for the belly bursting punchline after punchline each chapter has to offer. I would buy a hard copy of the completed work were it ever translated in a language I read in a heartbeat. I love this story and it was my gateway drug to korean fiction. That is all from me. <<less

So, I really couldn’t get past the fact that this evil organisation would just basically kill children to force themselves to become prime material. Like that happens of course but that is really s*upid. Also a comedy tag? That wasn’t funny. But I’ve only read 3 chapters so take this with a grain of salt.

Legit, thousands of children die getting killed by magic and the instructor is our protagonist. I would love, if his “Students” kill him. Anyway, summary is like later on in the story so

Guy gets reincarnated, parents... more>> die leave him farm, king wants goldmine, initiation of war, farms gets fired. Guy becomes evil instructor. That’s how we start really, so yeah. <<less
