“Let’s divorce.”

How simple it was. The ease with which the words escaped her lips left Ye-in momentarily stunned.

Once, she had dared to hope—quietly at first, then fervently—that she and he could truly become a family. She had allowed herself to believe, to expect. Only to have that belief betrayed and her expectations crushed. She had forgotten, even if only for a fleeting moment, that this was always the pattern of her life.

“Say that again. I think I misheard you.”

Not anger, but an icy calm settled over Tae-heon’s face.

“You’ve used me as you pleased. Now let me go.”

“You love me. How do you plan to live without me?”

His dark eyes, so deep they seemed to shimmer with a bluish hue, carried an unshakable certainty. The conviction in his voice stirred an ache of profound loss within her.

“I loved you.”

She could no longer afford to. For the sake of the child who would depend on her, she could not allow the humiliation and pain she had endured to touch their life.

She would stop it, no matter what it took.

This novel doesn't have any unique plot, but if you've been around the "angst, run away wife, obsessive, possessive, jealous ML" trope

Then you'd probably know what's going on here.

It was rather dramatic on how the things unfolded.

We got a miserable FL, whose mother left her, stays with her grandmother, until she was taken by her father (who already has a family, which means she's an illegitimate child.). Gets ab*sed there until she finally gets sold off to ML. Her life is really sad. All her life she craved for love... more>> but the only person who gave her that (her grandmother) died too.

ML, same as FL, no- actually worse than fl's life. His father is a monster. I wish we could see him suffering a little more. Only showing him in the prison wasn't enough. He tormented ML too much and I wanted to see him suffer more.

you know what I hated? ML's father beating FL while she's pregnant with ML's child.

Then threatening/ trying to cut open fl's stomach like how horrible did author want the character to be??

This made me uncomfortable. I wish I could wreck his neck. It wasn't nearly enough. I need to see him suffer

Is it the thrid time I said that? No probably the second. That's because I hate this character and also the fl's step family.

The way they ab*sed FL for years and the main story ended with them in the prison... But!! Serin (fl's stepsister) she didn't suffer at all in the main story.

God I hate this woman too. I wish I could cut her open and put salt in her wounds.

No one except for the FL ML and ML's stepmother were redeemable.

Just a bunch of horrible people who treated their own blood worse than you'd treat a bug.

ML was ab*sed so much that at one scene the father locked ML with a dog who bit him and then he was found unconscious.

now, ML

So obsessive. He's cold, emotionless like those typical ML's you see in modern k novels. But his Obsession with FL was everything. Loved it.

FL tried running away two times. The First time she didn't succeed. Second time she was finally able to escape, if only her own biological mother didn't interfere.. she wouldn't have been found so soon. Especially when ML's stepmom was trying to help her.

Well, I guess.. thanks to her. We got to see ML being genuinely scared for FL as she jumped into the sea infront of his eyes.

The scene after that... Wow..

ML jumped too following her and after she woke up in the hospital tried to end his life infront of her. It felt like "you're trying to leave me? Over my dead body. " Literally. He would have actually shot himself if the FL didn't stop him. (Or maybe I was manipulated too? Because this screams emotional manipulation)

You see the Obsession?

Also I want to add one more scene here, when he found FL for the second time, the place where she was tied up (she left that room just before he could find her, before the jumping into the sea scene) , he found a single strand of hair, picked it up and kissed it.

I shivered.

He felt borderline yandere.

I would recommend this if you want to read about extremely obsessive MLs. Well once he gets the FL, that is after all the drama of her running away from him. He becomes much sweeter.

Did I say he f*cks like he's on a mission? Yes.

Now coming to the unrealistic part.

FL said that the child in her stomach wasn't his... And since he already had the receipts from the burner phone FL used.. he believed her. Like?? Those were just FL asking for help from her mom and he misunderstood.

You're so ravenous that she can't catch a break. Why would you ever think she cheated? To cheat you need a place to do it... And nothing sort of that happened. So how were you so sure??

Especially with him being so smart and cautious, nothing ever escaped his eye.

Again, how come you didn't have any bodyguards near her when you clearly knew how your father could harm FL?

She has guards around her when she's trying to run away but doesn't even have one bodyguard when she's at the airport to see him off?

This felt like a convenient plot used by author to just end the story somehow.

This novel delivers exactly the kind of emotionally chaotic drama I unapologetically enjoy. At its core, it's an obsessive love story. If you're a fan of chasing arcs, morally gray men, and the slow unravelling of an emotionally constipated characters, you might like this.

The male lead, he's emotionally barren, affection registers as an alien concept to him. The story picks up four years into his arranged marriage with the female lead, who has just discovered she's pregnant, a fact she's terrified to share because the ML has made it abundantly... more>> clear he loathes the idea of children. He's not just cold; he's aggressively anti-family. Naturally, the narrative sets you up to dislike him and many probably will. (I didn't.) I lowkey relate to him, actually. We're given fragmented glimpses into his past: an abusive childhood, a violently controlling father, and scars both physical and emotional. You really understand why he is the way he is. It's not a justification, but it offers a window for character development.

The female lead, by contrast, is driven by a yearning for normalcy. She dreams of a warm, loving family and makes the brave (and heartbreaking) decision to leave her husband for the sake of her child, despite still being in love with him. And this is where the story ramps up. The ML is ruthless in his refusal to let her go. And I really like that Yes, he's manipulative, overbearing, and downright unhinged at times. But also hot, so you see my dilemma. He's a yandere imo

I get why this book's average rating is on the lower side. Stories like this tend to get ratingbombed for glorifying toxic dynamics. But for readers who, like me, are drawn to obsessive devotion, redemption arcs, and messy, high-stakes love stories, Its def a guilty pleasure read. The ML is obsessively loyal, emotionally stunted, and terrifyingly possessive but we do get the slow burn of character growth. He doesn't start out knowing what love is, but he learns. Eventually. The character development eventually won me over, I think it was handled really well. Also the smut was great 😶‍🌫️ <<less

Okay so here is the review there was so much angst in the beginning with many efforts of FL running away due to her circumstances. the story is good but nothing about is interesting except both ML and FL have deep scars from their past. Ml's father is a psychotic monster everytime he us mentioned I have urge to vomit and I just want to grab his neck and smash it on hard on wall until tge matter inside bleeds at it last.... rest annoying ones are from fl's family... more>> just cannon folders fools trying hard to be villain but story had a happy ending... so you can just read it... <<less
