The plot is pretty much identical to many of the "betrayal" Japanese genres. For that reason, it is already plagiarism to me. I won't be saying much since it would be a spoiler, but there is absolutely no originality in the story and no breakthrough in characters whatsoever.

The psychology of the characters is copy pasted from other works. Even if you enjoy this type of work that is heavily influenced by mental trauma, this is probably still not it. Let me explain.

Although the author tried to make the MC like... more>> he was the one in pain, the lack of characters made that the only thing about him. Currently, he has one quality for his personality, and that is to misunderstand everything everyone does. Of course, kindness is also another thing. Still, this kindness is by far the standard for novels with misunderstanding tags. They must have that trait for this to work. Taking out the self-deprecation from said personality trait, MC instantly loses everything noticeable about him. One can argue that his past caused him to be detached from reality, and this is true to some extent for this type of work. However, the fact that he is passive plus nothing else about him was shown makes it difficult to sympathize with him. This shows how shallow he was written. The rest of the cast is like this too with probably the exception of the school council rep with her desires explained.

I would suggest a few things to the author to make his MC more humane.

1. Hopes and dreams. No matter how broken the character is, this is still the basis of human nature. To further make it more miserable, give MC simple yet unrealistic dreams such as having a meal with his past friends and then break it since he thinks they hate him now.

2. Don't just stick to "Wah I was wrong. I need to make up to him." They're teenagers, right. Make some of them believe they were deceived by the MC still. This will make a good antagonist.

3. Actually make him desire to be understood.

No need to state the obvious, but the plot is forced. Too fast for comfort. And honestly, hard to believe. Overall, it does not feel like people who hurt each other trying to heal. But it sure does feel like someone trying to imitate that. <<less

I've read up to the chapter 79... and I have to say...

I agree with thien599. So my review is more of a spoiler free rant.

---------

... more>> This has to be the worst betrayal stories I have read so far. Almost to the point I wish I could get back the time it took to read it.

Half the characters who "want to make it up to him" just dig the holes they dug deeper. And the other half, are out to lunch, leaving the dug hole unfilled. They are all 1 dimensional.

Almost 80 chapters in, and the MC is still pretty much piece of college ruled paper with "main character" written on it. He has no desires, motivations, nothing. His monologs are not really all that interesting, they are usually him just being confused about everything going on around him.

I had more I wanted to say but I don't want to waste anymore time on this. <<less
