A story about how a woman lets go of her manipulative, unrequited love and chooses the one who actually loves her.

As the title says, truly a story about a woman who is vicious. Some of her actions made me feel bad

The pacing was perfect and enjoyable. I'm glad everything went well in the end. The "villains" had their proper retribution, and I was nicely satisfied ;)

Me too! A breath of fresh air to read with a no-hold barrel FL and a ML who courageously love. After all, someone needs to take responsibility. :)

Qin Zhi deserves his happy ending. His pov at the end made me cry.

This is not a revenge story, the description is a bit misleading. Her revenge is to ignore people's opinion and ignore those cheaters. And nurture his relationship with his childhood friend. By ignoring them, she stopped the chain of events that lead to her and QZ tragic end.

I think in a way, she did love QZ before he met Chen Hao. She was just so bent on competing with her sister. The root cause of all the... more>> problems is jealousy. Her ignoring them and focusing on those people who loves her most makes this MC smart. You have got your second chance in life. Don't waste it on the negative.

She is childish but from her pov, it was because she became very serious in her previous life and you'll realize a lot of people doted on her no matter how childish she is because she's really not a bad person and a lot of old people, as well as her circle of childhood friends likes her very much <<less

Hands down one of the most bittersweet and best short novels. It had rebirth, a bit of satisfying face-slapping, realistically written characters, and of course, fluff. It even tactfully touched on important topics like mental illness and a mother's love (or lack thereof). This honestly made me tear up. Her wistfulness, the youth she lost, the new life she's struggling to get right. All hit right in the feels.

Well, I have to remove the 'unconditional love' and 'cute protagonist' tags because this novel is more like the story of an ML who is in a one-sided love with a selfish FMC who doesn't exactly fit the cute archetype. said that only the ML is good to her. Which is not true, because the two maids in her household, a group of boys who is also her childhood friends, her friend in university and her mom are also good to her. She's just a spoiled girl who thinks that the world is out for her blood.

hmmn. I had to drop this one coz it can hold my attention anymore. There's not enough mystery and action. I just feel like there isn't enough action and the confrontations between characters are too repetitive.

Kinda loved the novel... About LYY who had a chance to change her life... With her second chance she corrected all her mistakes in her past life and treasure all the people around her... Although some of the character like LQQ actually quite pitiful.. Glad that LYY finally get her happy ending with QZ.. about CH, he is too a*****e to have ended with someone else... Good thing he is solo...

Fits my tastes just right, pacing is great, no excess filler content (or any at all for that matter) just a story about a man and a woman and their relationship.

It avoided all pitfalls of stereotypes of chinese novels like, perfect man & woman, brainless cannon fodders, rinse and repeat of face slap then sweet intimacy time, lack of focus of side characters, cliché endings, and probably all sort of BS you ever had to read from a cn web novel. (If you'd disregard the catalyst that led to the... more>> event of a rebirth, the rest is non-soap drama-esque)

The author knew what they wanted to focus on and executed it fantastically, love the attention of detailing given to the side characters and that we didn't completely tunnel visioned into the main pairing and honestly there's no real bad guy good guy here. Everybody carries a certain amount of fault, like all humans do.

Going back to the start that's full of melodramatic tragedy, with the clarity of knowing the entire story, it is actually not as ridiculous as it appears. Man playing with women to establish somewhat of his existence and importance, giving him a good ol' male ego boost

and two women competing against each other for their own ego and struggle of inferiority that roots back to their childhood, which their own father's infidelity, inferiority and other complexes might've been the cause of it all. (Ok, that was nicely put, he was a cheating bastard that only cared who stroked his old school man ego, even if it meant he had to embrace the bastard child and neglect the legitimate daughter).

And there's ofc our poor male lead that has hopelessly devoted himself to his love to even go as far as shouldering the crime of her mu*der, he's protected her, both willing and unwillingly, his entire life he himself knows he's hopelessly lost to her.

So all in all, even this messy ball of yarn has been thoroughly untangled, from start to finish it all makes sense. Except for the rebirth, it just... happens. :'D

[Finally done binge-reading it while listening to a melancholic bgm the whole time. Hahhhh. My heart is very calm now, to read something like this again once in a while is really relaxing. Thanks to this story, I think my mindset have grown a teeny bit, because as I read I feel like I've stopped numerous times to think.]

There are not much cliches and one will really be able to enjoy this as you continue to read. It's very heartwarming. I promise, you won't regret reading this at all.

Albeit it's... more>> true that Yao Yao can be unreasonable, but those times are really adorable. Her actions are understandable, she had been deceived on her last life and realized it too late that there's a person who truly cared and loved her.

So when she came back, her resoluteness was well-deserved. Yao yao is very treasured to the point that it spoiled her, but the people surrounding her thought it's just right, because, who is Yaoyao? (^_^)

The translations on the first few chapters may lack a little, but it's totally okay. So try giving it a read, it's short after all, you'll finish in no time~ <<less

This is a cliche rebirth novel with a little face slapping and lots of fluffy moments (really really love the ML). I live for fluffy stories so up I go. This one is short, no unnecessary misunderstanding, annoying third party, even the antagonists only have so-so parts. I love the fact that each and every vital characters were given an appropriate amount of POVs. Just a shame that author-nim did not divulge on Qin Zhi's past life.

The only thing I am openly complaining tho is the ending for Qingqing. Tbh... more>> the second chara I like the most (Hottie lovestruck Qin Zhi being the first one) is her. I feel her redemption arc could be better, I guess? I mean she was really not that bad. Yes she was pretending to be goody two shoes, but she didn't hurt anyone (aside from indirectly slandering yaoyao). She was envious and jealousy crept up her heart but she didn't do any extreme things (let's not talk about her past life lol). She try to move forward but still given a not so good ending, really I felt bad for her. Think author-nim was being kinda biased, Yaoyao was also vicious woman but she got her happy ending so why qingqing can't have her own? <<less

This was great story. Maybe not for everyone but I loved the slow, sweet and heartwarming atmosphere of it.

It was simple. It was real and for that it was beautiful.

MC Yaoyao was clever sharptongued female who didn’t let anyone get better of her.

And for the ML - I had a lot of respect for Qin Zhi, especially for one tricky scene. For that scene he is my hero, even though he was kind of idiot in other ways. He was perfect in his flawed way, real and some may say... more>> boring. I loved every aspect of him.

I just loved it.

Translation is awesome but might probably drop this because it does not make sense. The FL got duped and went back 7 years ago. Her reaction to her ex-fiancee from her previous life is over the top. She keep on stepping on his feet while dancing during a banquet and slapped him 3x in front of every body. The man has other girlfriend by then who is also present. The ML is also present. How can she react like that for something that havent even happened yet?? Her character is... more>> supposedly strong but her actions doesn't make sense at all. <<less

the start was so intense, you expect to see a great plot for revenge and all, but in the end, it was more philosophical and, well, the author said it her/himself, it's a bit melancholic thinking about life in general from a third person perspective.

this novel was a bit strangely written at the beginning, maybe it was the translation, the meaning and passion was there so I was still thankful for making it accessible ^^

After a few chapters, you'll notice that this is one of those "end of chapter... alright,... more>> just one more" novel till you get to the end after half a day of reading x'D

The story is centered around the love progression between the FL and the ML, the initial setting is just the first part of the progression and to make the readers interested I guess. (it worked, I confess x'D), after that, it's a bittersweet slice-of-life romance.

A bit sad there's such a big jump in time for the marriage point but the last few chapters put a good final touch to the novel.

4.5/5, I may read it again in a few years, the feelings given aren't bad at all. A bit like a peace of mind after finishing the read, but it may vary for anyone else since it's more about life experience I think..

tldr : in search of a solid romance with just a hint of travel back in time and over-bearing FL ? jump on it, but prepare half of a day time because the chapters are pretty lengthy.

PS: I'm grateful for any free translation, but dammit I'm not trying to major in decrypting picture or riddle, can I just get an easy way to read comfortably without having to try getting the correct password between each third of a chapter...? even when I have to wait 10 sec for the link.... sorry for the ranting, just the only thing that made this read a bit annoying. <<less

This is well write novel. It quite present jouney. I would likr to say I love how author find happy ending for all charecter even if they are anti-hero. However, it quite sad somehow since all the key point is involve in family crisis. So, I truely move by it a lot. I really love MC, she quite nice, lovely, independent but beibg a bit*h quite often. But it was fun I have to quarunter it again.

either way I dont like ML that much. It true that all of his action move by MC. He spoil her a LOT ALOTTTTT. He also pamper her and make her like a queen or something. Thats leave him with no charecter growth. NOT AT ALL. He has many scene but it didnt impact the story like it should. He was like side charecter who just come to make this story in romantic genre, I dare to say. Just a plain charecter. No dept in him at all. Maybe he is not my type. If he were real, I would bored him ass hell.

Okay, from the start to end, there is no character development so if you are looking for that, sorry this is not the one for you. The turnback, like in most usual rebirth story, is the rebirth itself. When MC realized how it would turn out for her, she regret and vowed to change the future... But not herself.

Particularly, in this one, MC was very spoiled by everyone so her demanding and her halo of MC-ness... was no wonder of everyone's effort. Really. ML was fortunately a masochist who would,... more>> of course, willing to do anything for her. They grew up together, so they sort of shaped each other's character and knew each other well. Well, ML accomodated MC till the end.

Its quite a good read, but on the revenge part.. well, each evil characters got their due, but MC and ML doesn't really do anything bad to them. More like, if left alone peacefully from the start, MC and ML could have lived well and them, not so much. so the misfortune the MC got was because of her bad choice (?)

I am happy for the main lead... But except from them almost no one got the ending they deserved

one of the best part of this novel is how the author told story from villain's and side character's POV too... at the end I couldn't really hate anyone... The story clearly showed why instead of waiting for others to explain situation and talk freely to you, you should also take initiative sometimes.... If most of the characters talked out their situation and make decisions together then all of these tragedies wouldn't... more>> have happened... <<less

If there's one thing I love about this story, it's that everyone's backstory is revealed at some point.

And they aren't of the 'oh she's vicious due to petty reasons variety, ' or of the 'he had a terrible childhood' variety either. It was just far more organic than the typical, 'I need to give this villainous character a backstory justifying their actions for the sake of avoiding accusions of my characters being 2-D.'

It's more like, we finally experience another side of the characters we thought we knew. And to me,... more>> that was very satisfying. <<less
