Lu Yuan transmigrates into a fantasy world and becomes the Sect Master of the Great Luo Sect. While many transmigrators receive an overpowered system, Lu Yuan feels his golden finger might be a bit excessive. When he sees the system’s first task, he’s left pondering: “Within a month, take in a new disciple and have them break through to the Foundation Establishment stage using the specified technique, Great Heavenly Immortal Art!”

Lu Yuan: Great Heavenly Immortal Art? The technique of the Monkey King? The one known as the Three Realms’ fastest route to advancement—immortal in three years, golden immortal in five? Even a dog could break through Foundation Establishment in a month with it! Lu Yuan: Easy win!

Chen Nanxuan, reborn, remembers his past life as a Tribulation Transcendent Sovereign. He perished to a heavenly tribulation due to his unstable foundation and reckless advancement. In this life, he vows to lay a solid foundation with each step before advancing. He joins the Great Luo Sect intending just to quietly grow, needing no special resources. When his master teaches him the Great Heavenly Immortal Art, he pretends to accept it but discards it.

A month later, Lu Yuan, seeing Chen Nanxuan still at the third layer of Qi Refining, is puzzled. “Why aren’t you cultivating the technique I gave you?”

Chen Nanxuan: “Why should I explain myself?”

Years later, seeing his nonconformist disciples, none of whom complete his system’s tasks, Lu Yuan flips the table. “Screw it, you all do whatever! This immortal path, whoever wants it, take it! I taught you all the real stuff, and no one learned it? Get lost, all of you!”

Not worth reading.

The protagonist, as the master of the sect, is undeniably both selfish and ignorant. Despite holding the position of leadership, he consistently demonstrates a lack of responsibility and foresight, particularly when it comes to the cultivation manuals he distributes. Without taking the time to review or comprehend their contents himself, he carelessly hands them over to his disciples, seemingly unaware or unconcerned about the potential consequences. This reckless approach raises significant doubts about the authenticity and value of the manuals being provided. Given the declining state of the... more>> sect, it is hardly surprising that few would believe these resources to be genuine or valuable.

His attitude towards his disciples further emphasizes his self-centered nature. Rather than accepting them out of a genuine desire to teach, mentor, or foster the sect's growth, his decision to take them in is purely motivated by self-interest. His primary concern is fulfilling the requirements set by the system, rather than nurturing or developing the potential of his followers. This lack of genuine investment in his disciples is evident in his indifferent behavior and his failure to establish meaningful teacher-student relationships. He views them as mere tools to meet the system's demands rather than as individuals with aspirations, struggles, and the potential for growth.

The sect itself, once a place of discipline, learning, and strength, now struggles under his negligent leadership. Instead of working towards its revival with careful planning and dedication, he operates with short-sightedness, making decisions that ultimately contribute to its stagnation. His irresponsible handling of resources—such as cultivation manuals—only exacerbates the problem, as it undermines the credibility of the sect and leaves his disciples ill-equipped to advance in their training. Without proper guidance or understanding of the knowledge he so freely distributes, they are left to struggle on their own, lacking the support they should rightfully receive from their master.

Furthermore, his lack of emotional investment in the sect and its members reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of what it means to be a leader. A true master should embody wisdom, patience, and a willingness to uplift those under their care. Instead, he remains detached, prioritizing his own needs over the well-being of his disciples. This selfish approach not only hinders their progress but also prevents the sect from regaining its former glory. His leadership is not driven by a vision for the future but by a transactional relationship with the system, wherein his actions are dictated by the rewards and requirements it imposes rather than by any sense of duty or responsibility.

His disciples were not truthful about their reasons for joining the sect, but as their master, he should have taken the time to understand their situations instead of judging them at face value. A true master guides and supports his disciples, yet he failed to do so. His inability to see beyond their deception and address their struggles reflects poorly on his leadership. Instead of fostering trust and understanding, he allowed misjudgment to cloud his role. In the end, his failure was not just minor—it was a significant shortcoming that ultimately defined his inadequacy as a master.

Ultimately, his failure as a master stems from his unwillingness to embrace the true essence of leadership. By focusing solely on fulfilling system tasks rather than fostering the growth of his sect and disciples, he reduces his role to that of a mere intermediary—one who neither understands nor cares about the consequences of his actions. If he continues on this path, the sect's downfall is inevitable[i], and his own shortcomings will be to blame. Just like other novels --though illogical-- will not end up on that state[i]. <<less

A fun read about a trasmigrator given reign to a dilapitated low ranked sect as the only member left with a system. He's selfish, brash, loves his disciple that's obedient and remember his disciple misgivings to him.

Sadly the translation is turning worse the further you go with wrong pronouns, numeral errors, and words or sentences that BOLD randomly.

MC and His Disciple story, at first I was just thinking it might be one of those Master Disciple novel but it has certainly surprised me, for Example the MC way of giving task and exploiting his disciple and being ruthless if they are not doing well is what I love
