When Lin Ran woke up, he found out that he has unfortunately transmigrated into the body of the Evil Cult Founder’s 18th little concubine. Even more unfortunate was his true identity is actually a guard (名捕/míng bǔ). He married the Founder in order to spy on him.

Idiotic protagonist could only ‘bite the bullet’ and be an undercover. All sorts of bad luck, all sorts of incidents in ‘getting exposed’… however, he found out that this Founder’s attitude is very very strange…

This is a Jewel,.. omg,.. ML and MC really good together,..

There is no s*upid MC, and bastard ML,... Its just a natural and sweetness feeling all around when they together,...

The story also awesome...

Really recomendid for someone who need fast, fluffy, and funny story,...

There is no s*x, but, it really good, just watching how they interaction, make always want scream, so mooooeeee....

A short but fun read. The author's humor is exactly my cup of tea (sarcasm and mockery), so I was practically rolling in my tears from laughing too much. MC is a pure bub but not dense, while the ML is hilarious. Highly recommend.

I'll start with the positives. Although we cannot really talk about much character development here (I said positive >.<), I liked the ML quite a bit. He was both cute and hot and in my opinion gave the whole novel life with his character.

Now, the reason for 2 stars:

First of all, I've experienced no feelings other than cringe throughout the novel. I didn't expect excitement, curiosity, or anything strong really. But I didn't get the sweet fluff that is written in many comments, not even a simple "kawaii!" at times.... more>> Imagine reading something with a straight face that only sometimes becomes weird from cringe : (

But these are all subjective, feelings and whatnot. The main reason for my rating was because I thought that this was a sloppy work.

The story is obviously a short and simple read, no one expects a deep plot or complete logic behind the events taking place. Even still, with a plot this simple and little-to-no explanation for almost any of the events in the entire novel, I couldn't really enjoy it. Examples are below with spoilers related to the beginning:

As the author also states at the beginning, we have no idea why the MC transmigrated. He did not die, or go through anything out of the ordinary. The original Lin Ran also did not die or experience anything unusual as far as I can tell. So just from the beginning, the author tries to get the reader used to the idea that illogical and random ideas will be implemented throughout the novel, not bothering to give any explanation or build the plot on a strong foundation.

We continue to see the sloppy attitude of the author when Shixiong acts like a robot programmed to wind up on the MC's window and act irrational over and over again. The first few times make you smile slightly but using the same trope multiple times not only kills the feeling, but also starts to irritate you quite a bit.

Also, the ending.. They soul swapped and the bad guy was actually another good guy all along? Such an anti-climactic and bland explanation to everything. Even if I enjoyed the beginning and immersed myself in the story, at that point I would be so disappointed. In fact, I was a bit disappointed that the only thing I liked about the novel (the ML) turned out to be a righteous sect leader. Am I the only one who wanted him to be a genuine bad-noy-gone-soft-for-his-shou? Way to spoil a good character.

Oh, and then nothing else happens and they leave to travel all over the world. Such unique ending, much wow -.-

Also, I know many of us are used to seeing a "naive" MC in this pit hole called BL novels but this novel takes it to another level and makes several characters as intelligent as trained dogs at most (MC, Shixiong, and possibly also the reader by the time we finish the novel). I know that the whole comedy relies on that, but at this point I question whether it is the author or us readers that is at the age of twelve to appreciate such shallow comedy for 12 whole chapters. (No offense, just a pun on the number of chapters. Maybe I was the one who wasn't able to conjure up the dying child in me while reading this novel and just enjoy it? I really wanted to since I didn't hate the whole thing actually.)

To sum up: Was it horrible? No. Is it worth one's time? I don't think so :/ <<less

Short and adorable.

MC gets endlessly teased by the ML who is not what he seems to be.

It is so fun to see MC get flustered when his actions and words gets taken in an ambiguous way by the ML.

Overall - a very quick and funny read, recommended for all readers, especially in between the more serious or heavy (in drama or plot) BL novels as a breather/breath of fresh air

Where to start... I enjoyed it, but it was hard to keep reading. I dont know if it was a difficult read because the narrator is an unreliable toddler, or bc all the characters are. Its likely both.

Its like if a BL novel was written by a kindergardener. its cute and fluffy, but it will also burn up your remaining brain cells. The characters are all s*upid to the point of being non-functional in a working society... which is the point I guess. The comedy comes from the sheer idiocy... more>> of the situation. <<less

Pretty humorous light-hearted read about a transmigrator and some strange mystery! Sweet and engaging story. The shixiong is a lovable idiot.

A good comedic read, if you like the absurd type of comedy that is. High rating mainly cause it feels like a breath of fresh air amongst other novels I’m currently reading. This is the type of story that makes fun of tropes while also using cliches, much like a skit!

I WISH THIS WERE LONGER.

But even if it isn't, it manages to satisfy me. The humor was definitely down my alley with how witty and sarcastic it was. That's really what caught my attention from the beginning. The witty dialogue and smartass replies along with the likable characters.

The two main characters bantered off each other so well and the MC gave off a deadpan, frustrated, tired modern day salary man who just wants to get on with his life. He was probably the only logical, sensible character out of them... more>> all which made his interactions with the rest even more entertaining. The ML on the other hand felt like a personified fox demon with how comedically evil, and playful his actions were. He played along with all of MC's whims and vice versa.

But, what I loved about this most of all was, despite the ridiculousness of the situations and the wild conversations, the comedy was not born from lack of IQ or basic mental faculties. The characters were plenty smart and it shows through the lack of miscommunication and logical reasoning, they just made the choice of conversing in hilarious and entertaining ways. <<less

  • is a bit rushed and the humour is forced when I was reading it most of the time it only made me go ehhh is this suppose to be funny?
  • according to the "reviews" under this novel I really hoped that it was sumn that was goin to be HILARIOUS but little did I know it was just goin to be an ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME.

Short and funny, will give you a good laugh.

Throwing all the logic aside, this one is a nice read. There's a lot of crazy moments between the MC and his "spirit father". Lmao

I like how devious and teasing the ML is, it's funny at the same time. MC is not s*upid, thank goodness! They're a perfect pair. There's also a lot fluff and sweet moments between the CP. The side couple is hilarious as well. I cannot with these CP's! Lol

To those who went into this story and gave it 3 or lower stars..... did yall not read the translators note? It was literally said that it's a short funny story, so at that rate, what did you expect?

I loved it. It was so dumb that even I started to laugh at how low IQ everyone were!

This story is on par with another novel that was full of jokes too called "The Wrong Way To A Demon Sect Leader".

I absolutely enjoyed reading this ridiculous story. 5/5 recommend! Lol

Short and sweet and hilarious. You can read it in one seating. The author is an expert at writing these kind of stories so you won’t be disappointed. I would not have minded a longer version of this.

not really fond of giving a lengthy review so here goes mine.

if you really want to have a light read and are in need of a good laugh, you could try this one out. No toxicity is involved as there's only a pure and wholesome relationship between ML and MC.

the story's great even if it's short.

Why 3/5 stars?

It's fluffy, comedic, and silly. This short story doesn't make much sense, but it's funny. Characters don't care much with what's going on with every chapters though it made me laugh a few times. It doesn't feel like it's going anywhere and it's not worth the type I would re-read if I ever feel like wanting to re-read the novels I've read before... once is enough (I couldn't actually bring myself to finish this short story lmao).

Anyway, if you're looking for a comedic and fluffy story that is... more>> lightweight which doesn't involve much drama nor any significant events, and you just want to take a break from a heavy novel you read, then this is for you. <<less

My gad I never thought that something as this short can have a plot plus it's hella funny. ML sooo shameless and I love it and MC being there thinking: am I dumb or are the people here dumb. The other is also a nice add to the story even thou the other shou is lil annoying to me cause he being dumb but most of it I like it for being this short and enjoyable. This is Super Absurd Super Hilarious Absolutely Bizzare and Pretty Funny and I Unexpectedly Love it waaay Toooo Much!!!

At the beginning it was Pure Comedy but also makes you wonder about the plot and the characters.

... more>> No matter the rating, I think everyone who finished reading this novel actually enjoyed this novel pretty much! Don't trust anyone who DID NOT finish the novel!

The main CP is Pretty Cute, Absolutely Hilarious, and Lovely Sweet till the end. The side CP was Unexpected and Super Hilarious! Enjoyable either way!

felt a little empty and I didn't felt the love between ML and MC other than them acting like fools.

it was short and cute and little moments are funny but not much more to find here. So I can't say I enjoy this that much. It's not bad, very easy to finish in a day but not that interesting either.
