I definitely recommend everyone to read this!

But if you have problems with dubcons, then please be cautious!

If you're in the mood to read non complex plots then definitely give this a try.

... more>> Plus it tackles relationship and family growth. And the MC's babies are sooo adorable and mischievous. And the ML is such an attentive and doting father!

This is mpreg but the pregnancy is non graphic and easily over read if you're not into that.

I habe to admit it took me a little while to understand the style of translation like all translated novels but you'll get used to it.

I'll definitely be rereading this because I really love the ML's character so much. <<less

At first, I thought it would be those Andy novels, but I read the reviews and found it wasn't. However, its not really a novel that has a lot to do with farming. It's just the daily life of the ML and the MC. It's cute and fluffy and is an enjoyable read if you have nothing else to read.

The title sounds rather serious so I let it rot in my bookmark list, but reading the summary and content made me realize its not :>

I like MC's transition from being useless and dependent to his family, to finally able to stand up on his own- although, of course with the slight help of ML. I love the family part very much, especially when they were just getting used to the life at their ancestral home. That's when MC realized he needed to also provide for his aging parents.

However, I... more>> did not like the approach of ML. The relationship is also sudden. I could not even sense that ML was wooing him had it not been for the comments. They kissed and suddenly they're together?

But its okay, it got better in the latter half.

It's a really nice story.

The early chpaters, we get to see how they change their lifestyle from a prime minister household, to no servant household, and must do alt he work themselves, even farming to earn money.

I love MC family, all his family are humble, willing to accept their fate, hardwork to survive but still maintain family values.

... more>> MC and ML interaction are cute and somewhat baffling to me, but let's move on, it's a fluff he story after all.

I'm not satisfied with the ending, felt rush and not completed.

And in the middle of the story, I felt like I'm reading bg romance rather than bl....... <<less

I would rate this a 4.7. Everything was great, writing was well-written, and the cp was very cute. The only thing I have a problem with is the time skip. On one line, you would be reading something, then time skip in the middle of the pages.

Actually at first, I like the prompt of the story, and even cried because of the MC. But after I read several chapters more, the story became messy and too fast forward. There’re much time skipping, and I don’t quite understand about the MC and ML feeling, because they just fall in love together despite the MC conditions. Maybe if it written in better way, i’ll like it. But now I think I just have to dropped this.

Not my cup of tea.

The writing it self is not necessarily bad but there's no substance, it's almost give me very floaty feeling when I read this (and that kind of feeling is bad tbh :'3) and the character background is very shallow. I give up reading halfway, but I pick it up again at ch 86 bcs I want to finish what I start, and yeah still not my cup of tea.

i give this 2/5 bcs I like the background story that include ancient china, ger, and farming

I meant to give *4 stars*.

I do not understand why ppl give this a bad review.

I think this one aimed at a light-hearted spirit and nothing heavy. I liked how it was overall. I wouldn't call any of the aspects amazing. But it was a nice read. ML has a pretty good and not at all shitty character (in case you thought otherwise from the tags)

As for the r*pe and other thing ppl talk about, I think they should read the mood of the novel. Remember this is historical... more>> and fictional. R*pe is wrong and no one, not even the author supports it, for those who don't know, it is used as a plot setting here. <<less

Slice of life based of political drama with a very loose storytelling, all the problematic plots are reversed immidiatly after they are planted without the misunderstandings we are used to in palace dramas, made the story novel and fresh but at the same time a little too fluffy without proper background development (the reason of the first meeting between the protagonists is just one of many misteries)

Good ML with mistirious past

Waaay too young MC with inconsistent personality

Nice to read with a lazy brain

I do recommend it if you just want some down time for in-between.

I did like the characters and the original idea, but I do have to admit I find it lacking.

... more>> The relationship develops kind of randomly? I couldn't quite understand why they suddenly liked each other and were in a relationship.

I also think that big moments/reveals were not fleshed out enough. I was actually quite dissapointed with how a big reveal was played down.

The time skips without any real information on what happened on both sides were also poorly placed.

The translation wasn't necessarily bad but I have to admit that there were moments in each chapter I didn't understand what exactly the author was trying to say.

The author also doesn't seem to keep notes because the time skips and ages of characters keep switching back and forth.

It feels very chaotic and incoherent.

The reason why I dropped it was because even a cute/fluffy easy going novel needs a little bit of excitement. Something that makes you anticipate what happens next. This novel didn't have that for me. To me it doesn't feel like the author has a guideline/idea for where this novel is supposed to go and end. <<less

A very solid 4 Stars.

A different twist on the tropes of ancient times mpreg.

Where this story really shines is wonderful slice of life depictions of a multi generation family. Seriously heartwarming and very funny in places. The two babies are so realistic, some have criticised them for excessive eating and rolling in mud and fighting bath time but it made me chuckle so much. It also shows the extent of work that goes into raising children... The whole village is in on the action. The couples relationship is super refreshing...... more>> They give each other space to follow separate interests.

Yes the drama of farming from scratch and court intrigue are glossed over but I find those storylines very dull in general so was delighted to have them relegated to background decoration. <<less

Simple story. Bit of slice of life and family struggle but very shallow.

No big emotions or waves or intrigue or tension to be expected.

But for a relaxing quick read, very nice.

Also, seems like the several gay side characters get implied happy ending but the author leaves you guessing so ¯⁠\⁠_⁠ (⁠ツ⁠) ⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Anyway, I agree with the other reviews that the first part is not r**pe. It was dubcon. It was already stated that the MC was drunk, and the ML was drugged. ML was at his limit and saw someone to solve the effects of the drug, so he could only let his body do what it wanted. Meanwhile, the MC's mind is muddled since he is drunk so he could only let himself be caught up with the rhythm since his mind can't think clearly while his body is too weak.

If you still don't feel right with the beginning, just skip it. Don't miss reading this good novel! <<less

I'm currently in a reading funk and for some odd reason I thoroughly enjoyed this novel.

This novel is literal nonsense. Crappy plot development, little romance development (it was just the ML being caring and nice and all) but just for some odd reason it was truly an enjoyable read.

To start off there is r*pe. I'm usually OK with the r*pe (coz its just a novel chill peeps) but the way they addressed it was so... Erm. Well they didn't. The 16 year old boy was literally traumatised and he was... more>> really angry with the dude but he... Accepted him? This part was really glossed over. Other than that everything else was good.

I liked the silly, naive and spoiled little MC. You can see how the spoilt brat slowly changed and became a responsible family man. This white silly sweet actually became the scary parent hahaha. The other characters I really enjoyed was Father and Mother Su. They were the best man. One of the best parents out there! Not the unconditionally supportive type (well Mother Su was the very supportive one) but they are always there when the MC needs them.

Though there were some plot holes and unanswered questions, it was not very significant. They ending was a weeee bit abrupt. Just a little but overall it was still very a very enjoyable read <<less

I made it to exactly half so I rated it, but note that the rating applies only to the part I read OK!! (*'-') b. This is a historical novel, fast-paced and fairly simple. The MC was a person that was spoiled by his parents his whole life, and upon his family's downfall, he suffers through one grievance after another. The first being his sudden encounter with the MC — which can be considered dub-con because he was drunk, but it's hard to say if it was non-con cause it... more>> wasn't just a brief tryst... but a three-day affair wherein the MC (assumedly) never rejected the ML's advances (according to the ML's later POV).

Anyway, because of the fast-pacing, this novel doesn't really have much to do with the setting. It's a family drama, I suppose? The MC gets pregnant and because of his family's circumstances, he's forced to slowly grow up. The ML is hidden royalty and they encounter one another again, but their romance is pretty perfunctory. If you're interested in something pretty chill and uncomplicated, then this is not too bad of a choice. Though I personally found it a bit too simple. If it was a little slower in pacing and there was a little less dragging of the drama (which all end pretty anticlimactically), I might have gotten further along. But for now, I've lost interest. <<less

I just feel that it's kinda irresponsible that ML/MC leaves Caicai at times for unreasonable reasons like as I said earlier. Take note! Caicai was just around 2 years old at that time

It's an 'okay' novel. No angst but there are some problems occuring between family members.

The second aunt-in-law's one-sided conflicts against the MC, the little bun, and her husband. Also, the ML's mother's dramatic, excessive, and unnecessary antics.

If you cannot overlook stories with r*pe then I don't recommend this. If you can, since r*pe was only mentioned briefly, then you can continue.

The translation is good and this is mainly about the MC and the ML getting together, raising the little buns, and earning money.

. Can give you twist and turns of emotions. If you want a light read story this is the spot for you. There were some details that ended up being hanged after being mentioned and some parts that I was looking forward to multiple POVs so some events can be explained but IG not... (At least the author didn't dwell on some other more topics that will make the readers feel left out in the story).

I'm a bit disappointed about this story, the beginning to the middle of the story is just fine, but the end of this story let my mood down.

The MC (Su Qingbai) aren't assertive. He also doesn't really care about his children (he always leaves them). The one that makes me feel disappointed is that he spends the night in ML's room when ML's brother takes his son to the palace without permission
