The old Song family had five sons in a row, all of them resembling their father, tall and robust, with hearty appetites. They spent their days catching chickens and playing with dogs, much to the distress of their mother, who just wanted a sweet and considerate daughter. She wondered why it was so difficult.

With a big belly, she prayed to the heavens every day that this pregnancy would finally bring a daughter. The sincere prayer was answered, and Song Baozhu was born. As the only daughter, she became the family’s treasure, treated like a golden nugget. The family firmly believed that their daughter (sister) was a reincarnated fairy; otherwise, how could she be so beautiful and smart?

Song Baozhu loved her parents and five brothers who always gave her the best. She lived a happy life, although she was inexplicably tied to a learning system that threatened to electrocute her if she didn’t study.

After experiencing the pain of being shocked to near death for playing too much, Song Baozhu reluctantly wiped away her tears and forced herself to study. Later, she discovered that learning was not so bad after all. It could help her family live a good life, ensure uncles and aunts in the village had enough to eat, and make the village chief proud.

As Song Baozhu grew up, she entered into a relationship with a disciple from the capital. The family worried about her facing discrimination due to her background, but to everyone’s surprise, she became a pillar of the nation and the treasure of her husband’s family, bringing pride to the entire country.

The story was interesting, MC was very smart and really talented (not totally dependent to the golden finger *learning system in her head). It's just that some characters who had great built up (like that crazy cousin who got reborn) she just faded. Then, Song BaoBao too, where was she? What happen to her? I get that she was a robot, but it was not disclosed to the family (aside from the second brother?)

Also, the system? Later in the plot, he got fewer comments. Also, the ending was cut... more>> short, like that's it? No more?

Still, regardless, I still liked the story. Baozhu was really smart and although she had a golden finger, shw studied a LOT and worked hard. I liked that she was not overshined by ML and they were very good at their respective fields. <<less

Why is this novel rated so low?!!! I absolutely loved it!! There's not much romance, actually barely any, but the cool way the MC invents those futuristic and advanced stuff as a kid is so interesting. The family dynamic is cute and as you read how the MC helps build the country using the system and her genius brain is sort of satisfying and at the end of it all you're left wanting more. The ending I felt was a bit abrupt and I would have liked a more clear... more>> and better ending but overall the novel was amazing. Easily one of my new favs! <<less

It’s interesting at the start, but the female protagonist is so OP. There are also lot of plots that are just left behind without ending.

I wish there are more romantic moments between the leads but they just got together without explanation.

I truly enjoyed reading this novel. Be forewarned, though, that there is propaganda, but mostly towards the end. I would have enjoyed more development between ML and MC but the typical events happen either way (childhood friends, reunite when older, marry, 1 child,... happily ever after). That said there I wanted to know:

Spoiler

What happened with the cousin who was reborn... she alluded to the downfall of Song Baozhu but that did not happen at all and she just stopped showing up.

Wished to see more of the technology (synthetic material, healing capsule, robots) shown.

The pairings of the two brothers who went to military be paired with more supportive partners. It felt rushed.

See the older brother marry again - it seems he does not.

More development with the nieces and nephews of MC, they growth would have been great to read.

Revelation of MC being person who lead research revealed in more depth - literally just mentioned in last sentence of novel that when it was know to China she was respected...

More exploration of system.... after arriving to capital and MC doing her research, we dont hear about the system anymore.

More on BaoBao, and development of other robots.

The beginning of novel is very family oriented, then we get development in business/military/ect with different family members, and then moe to the capital with more development of China (not character development), then prospective war and business/capital tribulations, and then happy ending? (or at least this is where the propaganda becomes more strong with China being the new superpower due to military weaponry. Anyways, interesting read, but many areas left unexplored and fast ending.
