Very frustrating to read since it has fairly detailed descriptions of light petting and kissing in the opening act but then, anti-climactically, any actual s*x acts happen off-screen and are often only vaguely referenced to after the fact.

For example: one chapter he's kissing one chick (and this is more or less as le*d as it has gotten up until this point), the next chapter a second girl walks in on him kissing said chick and soon after the chapter abruptly ends. The next chapter we find out he actually received... more>> simultaneous BJs from both of them afterward, but there was absolutely no such implication until that point. The novel will also abruptly skip over any s*x acts that happen within a chapter, and go straight to describing the aftermath.

This would all be totally fine if the central theme of the novel wasn't the s*xual relationship between the main characters. S*xual acts is the theme and conclusion of almost every chapter, and the style and tone of the novel is smutty (complete with graphic descriptions of French kissing), except it fails to deliver the actual smut.

All that being said, the characters are interesting and have nice chemistry, so I think it would've also been quite an enjoyable read if there was less focus on s*x. But since it falls right in between, it awkwardly fails at being either a good smut novel or a good romance novel. <<less
