This is actually my first time writing a review for a story, but I just had to share my thoughts because this one really left an impression on me.

The world-building is really interesting. It’s about someone who was summoned to another world to save it as a hero. After losing all her friends, she returned to her original world, traumatized, paralyzed, and completely broken inside. She shuts herself away, completely antisocial and with no will to live. But then, the world she once fought for is recreated as a virtual... more>> game—and that’s where the story really starts. The MC ends up confronting her past, her trauma, and meeting people who slowly help her feel alive again.

What I really like is the character development. At first, it feels like your typical gender-bender story where the main character is apathetic or kind of stoic. But here, the MC slowly starts showing real emotion. You can feel her growth, and the contrast between her real-world self—weak, lonely, and fragile—and her in-game self—more cheerful and even childish—is really well done.

Also, the MC isn’t overpowered. She actually struggles a lot, loses fights, and has to find clever ways to overcome problems. That makes her progress feel more meaningful.

As for the genre, this is my first time seriously following a yuri or shoujo-ai story. Up to the chapters I’ve read, the relationship between the MC and Cris feels more like a caring big sister kind of bond. The romance is very slow-paced, and honestly, that works for me. Even though the MC was originally male, the story doesn’t dwell on it. She doesn’t act or feel like a "guy in a girl’s body"—her behavior, emotions, and growth are very natural.

If I had to mention a downside, it would be the writing style. I’m not sure if it’s the translation or how the original is written, but there are a lot of sound effects that sometimes feel unnecessary and a bit distracting. As for the battles—some are really exciting and well-written, but others I ended up skimming just to get to the main point.

All in all, I’m really enjoying this story. It has heart, emotional depth, and characters that actually grow. If you're into stories about healing, slow-building relationships, and a mix of real-world sadness and virtual-world adventure, give this one a try. <<less

The book is honestly kind of boring. I might just not of gotten far enough into the series, or it could just not be for me, but the book so far has been pretty much a loop of VRMMO gameplay... Grind, fight bosses, boss has some special gimmick at a HP value, gimmick solved, repeat.

The story I think has a lot of potential, but I feel like a lot of it has been squandered. The premise of the main character I think is really interesting, especially if you combine it... more>> with VRMMO but then it just feels wasted with how combat is set up. This is more personal preference, but I wanted our hero MC to be fighting monsters without skills, a set up where skills assist players from the modern era but since our MC has experience she doesn't need to use them allowing her to be a lot stronger. Even without the MC doing this, I still feel like this should be a staple for VRMMO full dive type stories. It just feels like a generic computer mmo where its just skill timing, not to mention playing the game would be incredibly boring since all combat was basically just timing abilities to block/counter/retreat and striking the monster back for multiple minutes straight chipping at hp.

I just feel like there was a lot of wasted potential when it comes to full dive VRMMO. The combat just feels so much like if I was playing the same genre on my computer. Then this is amplified by the hero basically just being someone good at vrmmo's...

The world building itself also feels really weak right now... Its set up some basic stuff with the love interest and stuff, but right now its all so weak... The love interest feels kind of invasive, where she didn't take no for an answer and followed MC. Although I can see why this would be needed with the mc's personality and it doesn't ruin her character, but just overall I don't like her so far and she has had close to no development.

Overall, it basically just sums up to the story is a VRMMO grinding loop, and while I do think it had a lot of things set up well I don't feel like it's taking advantage of them. At the very least the grinding loop has become very boring for me, so I'll be dropping it here. <<less

Not a spoiler, it's the beginning of the story.

Story about a hero, who was reincarnated in another world to defeat a demon king as a girl, completing her mission while losing all her companions. She comes back to Earth but finds a vr game based on the world she was in, tries playing.

Having been traumatized from losing her companions, she plays solo (and is a loner that hates talking to people in general).

So far, it's been interesting to follow this story.

It's still a bit early to tell how this will change in later arcs, but so far this has a nice slice of life feel. MC had a traumatic experience being isekai'd, getting his gender changed and then losing all his companions and getting crippled before he finally requested being returned to Earth.

It seems the gods provided a bit of aftercare after all by developing a VRMMO set in the world he saved.

It's a pleasant read so far, but it only gets a 4/5 because it's somewhat missing a hook.... more>> If it's just going to be a cycle of beating dungeons and progressing in the game as we've gotten so far it's going to get boring fast.

Also the first potential FL has shown up and revealed herself to be a bit of a creepy pdf stalker. Maybe she'll show some redeeming features later on, but I'm not holding my breath. <<less

A unique take on a returner story, where the protagonist isn't overpowered but rather still suffering from the aftereffects of her perilous journey.

No magic power cheats, a spinal chord injury resulting in paraplegia, PTSD, and basically a split personality.

She is somewhat overpowered in the VRMMO, but mostly because of her high synchronisation rate that also leads to feeling the full extent of the pain of any injuries that don't result in instant death. And her real body also suffers trauma from that. The rest is made up by her combat... more>> sense and experience, but the descriptions aren't too far from what you might expect from regular players at the top of the world.

What demands some suspension of disbelief isn't the protagonist's performance but the fact that there are no professional players who can compete - despite there being a direct conversion of game currency to real currency. Realistically there would be at least some people playing full-time with similar skills who work in organised parties. The synchronisation rate can be interpreted to be limiting the skill compared to what one would expect of PC players, but that still seems like a stretch.

Overall, for a theme that usually results in extremely clichéed or superficial novels, this one has considerable depth.

In terms of human interactions, it enters cheat code territory again of only making pleasant and high-ranked acquaintances. This somewhat fits the theme of the novel of gradually warming up a recluse again however. If there had been much toxicity, it wouldn't have had much effect on someone playing alone as much as possible anyway.

The yuri / shoujo ai element is developing very slowly, so if people are looking for romance, they'll need to be very patient. <<less

I do think this website should allow for you to comment under other reviews or at least report misleading reviews in a meaningful way. Anyways.

Cacti's review has some major flaws. They want the MC to not use skills because "they already had experience and don't need the crutches" but as far as we are aware, she was a hero that used a sword. I do not believe she was *ever* a swordsman, and we can tell she has experience fighting and she definitely uses that.

"It just feels like a generic... more>> computer mmo where its just skill timing, not to mention playing the game would be incredibly boring since all combat was basically just timing abilities to block/counter/retreat and striking the monster back for multiple minutes straight chipping at hp.

A lot of this seems like a fallacy of oversimplification
Spoiler

Aside from the fact that chapter 23 was extremely early to review, the combat is speeding up, and the MC is learning new abilities from her past self in a special way.

[collapse]
I personally love MMOs and I do not recognize any that are "just skill timing" that is basically the definition of souls like combat though. The review feels like someone who just doesn't like MMOs complaining that an MMO will have MMO combat or full dive combat in this case...

memetichazar is saying some egregious things. If this were written in a male tone, it would've have more than likely used the the concept of sexualizing anything that moves because male authors are incapable (most of the time) of not doing that. In that case, sure, it would've been very creepy to have a man chase a girl that looks very young because of the obvious s*xual connotation. However, the female lead, while pushy, is clearly not thinking about s*x, she adores her more like the wanting of hugging a teddy bear which, while may be odd, definitely doesn't deserve the tag of "p*dophile".

I think the people that call the romance slow are heavily used to the accelerated pace that's commonly seen and not the become-friends-good-friends-closer-than-friends-officially-partners which is what this novel seems to be going with. Personally I'd call this normal... I wouldn't call fast food normal cuisine just because it's edible, it's notably lower in quality.

I'll continue updating later. The most jarring thing is that this is the first VRMMO/MMO novel I've read that doesn't really hyperfocus swing by swing frame. The reader half joins the fight and much of what would be seen in say, a litrpg, for combat, is not shown. It's not too bad. <<less

Interesting worldbuilding, but I'd agree with the other reviews that it's got strong setup that hasn't gone much of anywhere yet. At the time of this review, we haven't learned all that much about the MC's previous world, so the main plot progression is in terms of relationships rather than whatever's going on with her old world. Of itself, that's fine, though relationship progress is also pretty slow, which makes sense but can be a bit frustrating. Story seems to be building up to more on both fronts though, so... more>> those issues may resolve themselves in time. <<less
