I especially liked the MC and ML and the best wingman ever who made this story possible (according to me) the Divine Emporer Yan Song. Seriously if not for him MC would not go to the past and save the ML, and ML would always be trapped in that disgusting family of his. He was the one to make it possible for MC to embark on his journey to find ML in the first place. So it's like it always comes back in a circle. Anyway, I like him quite a lot but unfortunately, he is trapped in the ancient past and has to live it... again (that's another circle) poor thing.

I loved the second arc of the Mo Yao sect especially the story of the shixiong-shidi pair. I really cried when I was reading about their story. It's full of misunderstanding but they get their happy ending well somewhat. The Elder Qingyuan is a b*tch... but her character is fleshed out just like other main characters in this arc so she dies with dignity..i guess. We get to meet the second pairing of this novel who doesn't have much of presence as a pairing at all (since the gong of that pair is trying to make the shou call him father. This pairing is super hilarious on its own. love them even if they are idiots).

Another arc that I loved was the qinchuan arc which, to be honest, was really sad as well. The main character of this arc is actually someone previously introduced in the Mo Yao, the old mirror man, who actually a mirror fragment of the divine Kunlun mirror. So basically for this arc, I loved the suspense and the foreshadowing that was used from the previous arcs to this and the subtlety that is used to foreshadow the future.

Pfft he actually shacked ML with Du'e their sword.. you know which is really ML's weapon and ML can actually get out of it anytime, that sword. This part actually showed that no matter how much MC changes he would still be naive and silly when it comes to ML.

ML refuses MC's kiss because he wanted to be true to MC and tell him that he had someone he loved in the past... the person he loved in the past was... ding ding ding three options and the other two don't count.

Another thing is their romance which has no start or end because MC is dense and didn't realize he was in love even after having it spelled out for him.. quite literally by the old mirror man... and Rong Bai the ML seems to have fallen for MC when they met in the hunt in the past because MC smelled like him, could control Du'e like him and was there specifically for him. That was actually quite touching since both of them have quite a relatable tragic past.

his arc is a total heartache. Author did great for creating an illusion that MC had a great life before becoming a demon. Everyone, including his parents disdain him. His mother is a whacko who always puts blame on him why his brother died, this cause MC to almost kick the bucket. At the end, it was kinda refreshing that MC didn't forgive his mother.

the way MC went back into the past to save him. But I'm still very confused, in the first half before the going into the past to change history happened, where he drank the demon blood, he doesn't remember how he drank it, but in the second half (after the history change) it was apparently given to him by a major kinda minor character, the character fed it to him as though he knows its him (after the past change). So is it kind f like a butterfly effect? IDK ANYMORE

Probably one of the few novels I've read where the MC actually has his own blackening/awakening moment instead of just clinging onto OP ML's thigh the whole time.

MC grows into someone who can protect, defend, and heal the ML. Also one of the only novels where the MC and ML do kind of swap places near the end which was hilarious and such a great parody/trope-breaker that it's the reason this gets 4 stars instead of a standard "pretty good" 3.

The villains were largely unimportant and very obviously there for plot. A LOT of things happen in a fairly small chapter count, which leads to fairly rushed endings. I would compare this to quick-transmigration/QT genre stories where you get a lot of different characters and mini-plots in a short timespan.
