Shu Yuwan is the youngest daughter of the family, cherished by her parents and older brothers since childhood. Her mother carefully selected a noble son with outstanding character from the capital as her husband.

After marriage, although the couple couldn’t be described as inseparable, they could still be considered respectful to each other.

Unexpectedly, while she was pregnant, her husband claimed to have met a remarkable woman who astonished him, and he wanted to divorce her and marry that woman.

She was unwilling, and her family also did not agree. Her husband took his beloved and left, not returning for seven years.

With the fifth prince ascending the throne, her husband, holding the power of the imperial guards, returned with his beloved.

She found herself in an awkward situation with her seven-year-old daughter.

She had intended to divorce and take her daughter back to her parents’ home, but she heard that her good husband had raided the family estate, and her parents and brothers were all exiled. Shu Yuwan fell seriously ill and passed away before her daughter came of age, leaving this world.

Yet, even at the moment of death, her eyes remained open.

Her daughter was still unable to fend for herself, and her parents and brothers were suffering in exile.

How could she willingly die at this point, but her body had already reached its limit.

She opened her eyes again.

She was overjoyed; some people should be abandoned when necessary.

Oh boy, where do I even begin? So, I almost skipped this novel because of its tragically low rating (2.6 at the time—yikes), but curiosity got the best of me. And guess what? I’m so glad I ignored the masses on this one. If people are docking stars just because the MC is reborn while pregnant—I mean, seriously? That’s the dealbreaker? Not the usual overused tropes, but pregnancy? Wild.

Our MC had three major regrets in her past life:

  • Not dumping her tr*sh husband.
  • Not saving her family from inevitable doom.
  • Not getting enough mom-daughter bonding time before her tragic demise.
So, the universe (or whatever cosmic force handles these rebirth situations) decides, “Alright, fine, redo—but plot twist! You’re six months pregnant. Good luck.” And honestly? She owns it. She’s out here making power moves—divorcing... more>> the waste of space she married, protecting her family, and making sure her daughter has the life she deserves. Talk about redemption arc done right.

And then we have Zhao Qingqing. Oh, Zhao Qingqing. If you ever needed a cautionary tale about why some modern folks should never time-travel, she’s Exhibit A. You’d think being from the future would give you a leg up in an ancient setting, but nope—she’s out here making catastrophically dumb decisions. Seriously, introducing b*mbs before their time? Genius move if your goal is utter chaos.

Also, let’s talk about the male lead. Marrying a divorced, single mother in ancient times? That’s not just love—that’s a whole strategic operation. And he pulls it off smoothly. Respect.

So, should you give this novel a shot? Absolutely. It’s a solid 4-star read, and honestly, if you like seeing an MC actually fight for what she wants (instead of passively suffering for 80% of the book), you’ll enjoy this one. <<less
