Gacha Game Girls Are Obsessed With Me

I was possessed by a gacha game as a shop owner, not the main character.

In order to prevent the destruction of the game world, I must clear the tower.

For the heroes who will clear the tower, feed them potions to level up. Cook for them every time they clear the dungeon. Invest generously in growth materials to help them rank up. Rebuild the collapsed guild house and give them a place to live. Give them a massage when they look tired. Encourage and praise them when they are having a hard time.

Make them equipment at the blacksmith shop and dress them up. Hire a costume designer to create high-performance standout skins and dress them up. Invest generously whenever you accumulate favorability items to meet the conditions for equipping exclusive equipment… … . That’s all I’ve done insignificantly.

Heroes?

Why are you looking at me like that?

I’m a little scared… … .

This novel is actually pretty good. It takes gacha elements and turns them into a proper narrative, giving actual explanations on how gacha world/mechanics could work in real life. The characters don't just pop out of nowhere after being pulled, they already exist in the world, and you just need to recruit them once you get their character.

The story gives off strong Guardian Tales vibes, especially in how the characters interact and how the guild house functions like Heavenhold. The protagonist, acting as the player, actively engages with the game... more>> instead of just being a passive observer, which is a refreshing take. (I'm comparing it to Guardian Tales because of the high-fantasy vibes, there's also Blue Archive, mainly because the MC is physically weak)

One of the fascinating aspects of this novel is how the author incorporates various game mechanics, things like cooking, facility building, blacksmithing, and acquiring currency, all things you'd typically see in a gacha game. Even though the setting follows the classic "tower climbing" premise, which is a pretty overused concept, the execution makes it entertaining. The management aspects are also well-handled, with the MC organizing resources, funds, level-up materials, businesses, and party members efficiently.

It basically explores what would happen if a gacha game player actually interacted with the game world instead of just being a spectator. And yes, I mean the players themselves.

The protagonist is also quite grounded, realistic, competent, and, surprisingly, not a pe*vert despite being surrounded by women. No idea how he pulls that off, but honestly, it's pretty cool.

The character dynamics are solid. The cast isn't one-dimensional, and each character has their own distinct personality. While they aren't exactly well-written by traditional novel standards, for Novelpia standards? They're definitely good.

As for the world-building, it's not fully fleshed out yet. From what I can tell, the reason the MC seems to be the only male around is that they're close to the Tower, where monsters frequently appear. I assume it's too dangerous for ordinary people, and only women can wield hero powers. Also, the fact that the world isn't completely separate from the gacha game but still connected to it is a nice touch.

Final Rating: 4.5/5

PS. There were some fanservice, but it's not ecchi focused. I have a feeling this might turn into an R-19 or atleast R-15 in the future. Just a guess. MC might actually get r*ped because he is too handsome and is the embodiment of a perfect husband lol, he has some gacha addictions, but that's negligible...

There were some pop-cultures references that appear here and there, it's kinda funny. "I've played these games before" and "The Hero Himmel would have done the same" was funny as heck <<less
