It's an enjoyable read with a lot of fluff. However, the pacing is somewhat off and some characters are written poorly. This novel, like many other novels in this genre, suffer from a slower and detailed beginning (while the characters are trying to become successful) that suddenly becomes a quick, compressed plot after success. It also suffers from the cliche money-grubbing relatives, comically hypocritical and idiotic, one dimensional villains.

There's nothing special about this particular novel compared to the other apocalypse-to-ancient-times novels. It's pretty standard and nothing new. Though the last... more>> extra was especially moving. <<less

The story was so wholesome, I pull an all-nighter🐼. Having a family who supports you is so nice. The only thing I'm annoyed about is He Ze's attitude for the villain or so-called villain. I want him to be more ruthless. Give them more pain. Show no mercy... Nah, I'm just kidding lol. or maybe not 👀

But, the annoyed part is true. You will find it from the other reviews or u can just... more>> read the story to understand what I mean. 😊

I just wish that the ending was not too rushed. I still want to know the twins ADVENTURE (𓁹‿𓁹 ʰᵉʰ⋅) when they grew up.

You also might find some plot holes here and there because sometimes the author didn't explained it much, just short sentence and it's done.

Overall, the story is still nice, I definitely recommend. <<less

After reading the first few translated chapters I was hooked and read ahead.

The romance pacing of the two lead were good, that could make you root for them to be together but the situation later on, made it rushed for me, at least. The story focused more on the MC's development than the rest of the characters, there are so much potential to learn about their growth but steps were skip and confused the heck out of me in later chapters. The story was straight forward and the antagonists were... more>> short or completely forgotten in later chapters. MC is basically a God in their world but decided to be humble because of his past life.

I may not give this a good review for how predictable the plot is, how easy to fixed up their relationship, plotholes and everything that had been happening to the antagonist were explained in short sentences but the romance storytelling was good enough. <<less

Author -samaaa 😭😭😭 the endinggg, is happy but sad at the same timeeeee. I'm crying in public place, but what do I careeeee.

It's a beautiful endinggggg. Altho the website had a lot of annoying pop ups, it's hard to read on the phone. But totally recommended.

Was hoping there's more backstory about their descendants

Wow! What a ride. It was a nice novel to read. It is pretty fluffy, with no angst, and a rags to riches kind of story. The malicious characters/antagonists are defeated quite easily with MC's powers and scheming.

The best part of the story is the relationship progress between the MC (gong) and ML (strong shou). Initially the MC thinks of himself as a straight man. There is no women in this world but he never considered that gers were different from men, since they're both "males" anyway. MC was nice... more>> to ML since ML saved him a lot but he didn't "love" ML. So I liked that the author took time for the MC and ML to develop their relationship and fall for each other. Other novels had love at first sight but in this novel, MC and ML really took time before they confirmed their love for one another. It is so sweet once they do.

MC also worked hard to let his family get better and more prosperous.

There were a few issues with the bad guys trying to harm his family but MC easily defeated all of them, and then there's the happy ending.

I like that the author also wrote about what happened after the end. MC and ML continue to grow old together, and author even wrote about their deaths.

The only thing I had an issues was author really just focused on MC and ML and never really developed the other characters more. I felt that He An, MC's younger brother could have a more fleshed out story with his lover. Bad guys who ran away from their family/or was sold wasn't really talked about. It's like author used the antagonist for a storypoint and after that just forgets about them. I prefer reading about what happens after too.

Bad 👎. I dunno why this novel has high rating

  • First, this is neither yaoi nor shounen ai, ML and MC do not have the same gender. When in society there are only 2 genders (man and ger), then the relationship between man and ger is not homos*xual but heterosexual. If you're looking for yaoi, this isn't.
  • ML and his "dad" personality is bad. I just don't like them. Too s*upid, too easy to be used by others, and too closed. Dunno why many readers like them.
  • MC comes from the apocalypse ok?, but his personality doesn't reflect that. He doesn't solve problems at the root, and tends to be arrogant towards his enemies which causes a lot of problems later on.
  • There are many things that shouldn't have happened if MC was strict enough with his enemies. For example, the Lin family (MC ignored them, which eventually caused him trouble), and also Wang Fucheng and Li Deming (If MC killed them directly, there would be no further problems).
  • The Ending is cringe. The emperor's involvement is the most difficult problem solving. Hello? If MC has a problem then he will solve it in the most troublesome way. As someone who came from the apocalypse, his reluctance to kill creates unnecessary problems, which even if he kills it will not be known at all (who can imagine plants can kill?)
I originally wanted to read it calmly, but all these artificial problems made me annoyed, and finished it just because I started it not because the story was interesting or anything. Maybe my expectations were too high because of the rating

This story is good, it's just that the website is really full of pop up, and what's worse is that we can't get rid of the pop up manually, and have to wait quite a long time for the pop up to disappear by themselves.

And as for the character itself, ML is actually a bit annoying... This is because ML doesn't have a sense of urgency to develop, and will always just wait for the situation to get really bad before realizing that he needs to act/develop.

Even until the end... more>> the situation remained the same, ML is very easily satisfied with the situation that he had.

I mean, of course in the end all of his children will become very influential people in their country, but still ML personally doesn't have any sense of wanting to succeed unless he is really cornered.

Ah.... my expectations are shattered.... I was looking for a nice transmigration story where the MC is working his way up together with his wife... with a bit of dogblood on the side.

Unfortunately this dogblood seems to become the main dish.

MC made some money with different short gigs but hadn't yet a stable income or plan.I kind of feel like he never had a plan.

ML (ger) was set up as this super strong and independent person. The writer was really pushing this... and then.... his IQ got scraped... more>> and he became the docile cute little wife and his persona is kind of disappearing I the woodworking.

By the wat of takes to chapter 99 until they marry but it's getting "sweet" (and dumb) by chapter 53.

I did like the story at first and MC and ML are nice... but bland. The background could be more detailed but it was still ok. Unfortunately the story dragged on without a real goal. I was looking for a powerful story, not a powerful ger that becomes a dogblood weakling.

The whole dogblood at the end was really not needed anymore and didn't rescue the slowly trickling story.

The novel is OK but didn't really satisfy me. It was somewhat lacking. Still readable and somewhat entertaining. Just do not expect any greatness. <<less

This has a good and well written plot, I recommend it. However, I think the author kind of focused on the MC a lot. It left the other characters a bit lack lustre including ML who should be the focus as per the name of the story.

There are a lot of things to like though. ML really makes the effort to get to know people himself and build a relationship with them. The main string of characters have a good dynamic going on for them. If the other characters had... more>> been done well it would elevate the story a bit more. Also the way author resolves the issues/conflicts is very grounded. Even if ML has supernatural powers he never relies on them resolves all issues for him, he is pretty respectful and thinks calmly. it's beautiful especially at the end.

He ze and Lin yu's love story is a rollercoaster ride, fluff and beautiful.

it's Just that before the text end it seems rushed.

the romance didn't start soon but gradually developed like a seedling to a budding flower and then it blooms. There's some shameless relatives but gladly the MCs family is kind and supportive. Well I think in most seme pov stories the MC family is usually good. But the ending extras was the best and the most who have more emotions. I truly Love how the MC solved the problem of Persistent Bad Guys. From Face to Face Threat to doing it behind the scenes. The first was so Badass, and the later was reliving because everything end up succeed and get the result he want.

I have no complaints about this story. The pacing was good, and the storyline was simple and wonderful, with a heartbreakingly sweet ending that had me crying.

Just completed this book. It's heart warming. The love between the charecters is phenomenal and the simplicity of the story is it's trade mark. Absolutely loved it. After reading all high profile plots, this story healed me with the simple and beautiful plot. The coexistence with nature and the harmonous villahe life is the best.

... more>> *FYI, the ending Extra 119 is the death of old age of the main couple. I suggest you don't read 119 because it was sad lol. Why do authors do this, can't they leave it as the couple going off adventuring forever lol.

So it was definitely a cut above the typical transmigration poor to rich story. In that the side characters are not NPCs and in fact, sometimes have their own scenes which is ridiculously rare. This includes the ML! Which is quite nice. However, the poor to rich wasn't the best I've ever read or that satisfying. My enjoyment rating is thus not that high. Because that poor to rich aspect is why I read these books in the first place haha.

Short Summary: MC has wood powers from an apocalypse world and transmigrates into the ancient era, experiences his hetero beliefs beaten up by the strong and cute ML, discovers family again and “handles” with his enemies. To support the people he loves, he makes money intermittently using his wood skills.

Plot: 3.8/5

Decent storyline. But I wanted better and more cathartic poor-to-rich money making. But it was more intermittent. I think part of it was because I didn't really feel the pure joy of the characters increasing their quality of life. Possibly because the MC’s family were newly poor and not born from poverty. They have experienced being rich before so being rich again wasn't that special. So the poor-to-rich aspect wasn't as satisfying as other stories.

Also, the author mentioned there will be little ones which made me think there will be a good chunk of heartwarming family scenes with the kids in the 2nd half of the story. But nope. It was like the last chapter that the children were born lol.

A lot of this story was actually fighting with the usual type antagonists. I never felt anxious for the main characters but I was tense whenever they had to deal with them for interrupting the slice of lifeness haha.

Writing/Translation: 4.5/5

The translation I read is from DarkStar Translations. Very good tl! The only con is the website is chock full of obnoxious ads that drains my phone battery like crazy. Luckily, you can just load the text then immediately turn off your phone wifi so the ads don't load.

Pacing: 3.8/5

Setting/Worldbuilding: 3.7/5

Typical ancient time setting.

Characters: 4.2/5

The best part is that the side characters aren't NPCs and can be considered actual characters lol.

Romance: 4/5

The romance is pretty nice. There is actual buildup from both sides. They learn more about each other and then only fall in love. Heck, the relationship took 50 chapters to get together. Isn't that amazing?

Maybe 4 star. Extra star for completeness and sad, but beautiful end. I had to read the last extra twice. Doing so it clarified a few things for me.

The main story is ok with some odd choices by the ML The MC is a great character, strong and bold.

All in all, satisfying read
