    ML (gong) was MC (shou) 's younger brother, who fell in love with MC and then chased and obsessed over him despite their blood ties. Then, they got together in secret.

    However, ML lost his memories due to an accident and married a girl introduced by their parents (who at some point came to know about their relationship). On their wedding day, MC begged ML to stop the wedding and go back to him. Nevertheless, ML ruthlessly rejected and humiliated him.

    Then, MC committed su*cide. ML was then called when his body was discovered.

    Then, the bit that was deleted was—

    MC woke up in another body after he committed su*cide. So, it's still the same timeline as when his brother (ML) discovered his previous body and remembered the past.

    But then — BOOM!

    That part and the other interesting bits leading up to it were deleted. Then, Youlan clumsily and abruptly finished everything off.

    For more than a year or two, it was such a tease (novel was not updated for a long time). Like, omg, the bloodiest wife-chasing crematorium is gonna come! Whose body MC did wake up into? When will ML remember the past? Will there be another ML coming?

    There was so much potential wasted with its abrupt ending that the author even admitted rushing it. I would personally translate the title as "Your Disappearance" — just like how my hopes and its potential all disappeared. I've been bottling up all my grievances for a lot of years that only was I able to air them all out.

    I love most Youlan's works, but she truly broke my heart with this one. <<less

    Hi, translator here :)

    I seriously recommend this novel to those who are a fan of Youlan's other works! This belongs in the same collection as 'No One Saved Me', 'Say Farewell to Him', 'His Gift', and 'No One Knows'.

    As expected from Youlan, the story of 'Gone Lover' is filled to the brim with angst and will probably make you cry. Personally, this is one of my favourites from the author.

    Warning that this is in*est!!! There is very little amounts of intimacy, and they are all shown in flashbacks. Their... more>> relationship is clearly portrayed to be socially unacceptable throughout the novel, which is what made it even more heartbreaking. Even though I'm not a fan of in*est romance, I still sincerely enjoyed this novel.

    This is my first novel translation and I've got to say that it was a lot harder to translate than expected! A lot of phrasing felt awkward in English so I had to figure out ways for them to make sense.
