OK I love this novel and have a hard time letting it marinate. The chapters are short and always leave me wanting more. It is a simple 'comeuppance' story (and maybe harem romance? Though that is uncertain so far). The male leads treat the main character terribly but lose their minds when he leaves. Very simple but what makes it for me is the lead character. I laugh out loud almost every chapter. He is super physically weak and I really want him to become healthy but his personality is... more>> snarky and low-key hedonistic). He is filled with vitriol towards all the male leads and does not hold back LOL. I can relate to him and his family and want him to come out on top which keeps me deeply invested. <<less

I really like the story so far, people may say that the main character is spineless, but what is he supposed to do in that situation. The Espers on his team are stronger than him and they are very volatile, in terms of their tempers. So he's stuck in a position where he can't really fight back against them.

But I do love that he always curses them out when he's thinking about them. Frankly, I just can't wait to the point that he quits when he tells them to their... more>> faces that he's gone. After all, their behavior and how they treated him as well-known so I don't think another guide is going to be filling in that position anytime soon. <<less

Ok, I've only read a few chapters in but I'd like to address the other reviewer's comment about the characters. Yes, the four espers from Attack Team 3 are a**holes. There's two that are completely impossible to become the male leads in my eyes and two that are possible. One is the team leader who is a healer and the other is the telekinetic. These two are s*um but not completely unredeemable. There is also one more male character who acts as a very good friend to the MC. Unfortunately... more>> it's unlikely he'll be the main male lead, but he makes the story more bearable, knowing the MC has someone on his side.

As for the MC... yes, it's true he cries a lot and doesn't really fight back against them, but considering his situation, there's not much else he can do. The espers are much more powerful than him. This is not only referring to their physical strength, although they do like to drag him around like a puppet. They also use their powers on him- for example, one person on the team is a telekinetic and uses his powers on him without permission, and another is a mind reader who will read his mind whenever he feels like it. They're basically all his bosses, so no, he can't exactly fight back without fear of retaliation. And he can't exactly quit because his mom is reliant on him and this job pays well. I think it's really unfair to say the MC doesn't have a backbone. MC is actually quite feisty, he just keeps it in most of the time because he's stuck in an unfortunate situation and fighting back doesn't makes his situation better. Considering the team's bad tempers, it'll probably just make his situation worse. <<less

Its early on, admittedly, but I really hate all the MLs. They are incredibly abusive to the MC guide. They want to force him to quit so they treat him very cruelly. I'm talking making him physically ill, laughing at his misery, he's losing weight from being put through the emotional ringer. They are crazy and not the fun kind of crazy. This novel isn't tagged with humor for a reason!

They might be redeemed yet but that's more for people who have a tolerance for ab*se than me. It would... more>> take a lot of convincing to want any of them to be happy. This is not set up in a way where they can be easily forgiven. The MC also doesnt have enough of a backbone for it. I think this would be more tolerable if he did. If he was sticking up for himself more instead of being physically ill and crying from how terrible all the MLs are constantly it would give more hope for a future good dynamic. He did just win the lottery though so maybe this is just a bad set up. I'll give a few more chapters a shot to see if he grows a spine and they have to grovel for any chance of forgiveness. It just strikes me as more of a "ab*se" novel instead of a "chasing to the crematorium" novel.

I added the relevant tags for ab*se to hopefully help others avoid it if they dislike this trope or as an ad for people who are fond of it. <<less
