It's really good.

I'm not really a horror buff, so you can tell it's not really intense horror and is more thriller, but it does have its scary/creepy moments. It perfectly captures how ghost stories throughout reality would inevitably lead to... capitalism trying to exploit that situation for money. Great world-building and characters and plot points return throughout different arcs and weave together, clearly building towards some kind of final conclusion. I love MC because he is just a tired corporate worker who is doing his best.

Personally I'm the employee from... more>> security team who lives in the basement and is used to all the sh*t but too tired to function... <<less

I've caught up with the most recently translated chapter and I gotta say this one might just be my favorite novel I've read to date. I love the whole SCP/creepypasta premise and exploring the different darknesses with a protag who is both capable and cowardly is great. I like stumbled on this novel on a tiktok video and I went in not expecting much, but the character dynamics, the different plot of each world, the pacing, it's absolutely phenomenal. I really recommend this to anyone who likes horror and comedy.... more>> The protag's thought process for solving these scenarios, to me, feel very grounded and clever, and his character (the way he interacts with others) is so refreshing and multifaceted. I can't wait to see what's to come for Soleum and his journey to survive and get home. <<less

Brilliant work! Was never a fan of horror myself, but the translator does an amazing job! Please read from the translator's site. They put in a lot of effort with the fonts and writing style to make you immersed in the horror story. I've been hooked on this novel, binge reading it for the past two days. Totally worth it. The last story arc ends at around ch 67-ish. So you can read till there without any cliffhangers.

I started reading this novel just because I thought that the title is interesting and the fact that the novel is very popular (judging from how many fanarts it has) despite being released only recently. Turns out this novel totally deserves it.

The MC is a huge fan of creepy pasta but he's a coward. He's the type that will "fight" when he's scared. He always looked cool and composed on the outside, while crying and screaming on the inside. He's very smart and witty, can always find unconventional solutions in... more>> times of crisis.

The concept of the novel is basically like a typical dungeon story, however instead of fighting monsters, it's completing certain "rituals" to clear the dungeon. So it's not all about strength, but about wit and luck. This "dungeon" is a creepy pasta aka 'Darkness' and every arc has its own unique Darkness so it never feels repetitive.

The side characters feels alive. All of them has their own goals and their own distinct personalities. They also has their own view of MC's character. Some think of him as an angel and some think of him as a psychopath.

What I love the most about this novel is :

Spoiler

The mechanism of 'contamination'. Dealing with a Darkness for too long can affect MC's mental state. Because this novel is narrated by MC, we as the reader also got affected. It's like the novel is gaslighting us and I love it lol

[collapse]

In short, this novel has a lot of potential with its unique aspects. This novel really carries the author's limitless creativity. <<less

First and foremost, I would like to encourage everyone to read this novel.

It's not much of a horror, but more of a thriller told through the lens of our scaredy-cat MC, Kim Soleum.

As much as he claims to be a coward, Soleum can work up the courage when it is actually needed. His wits and intelligence also play a large part on his (and other people's) survival, along with his cheat.

arise.

The world-building too, is detailed enough to not be confused, and fun enough to indulge yourself in.

Truly, one can't help but be immersed in the world contained by this novel. It's written by the same author as "Debut or Die, " too, so the writing style is great.

Definitely would recommend this. <<less

I was wondering why this novel was so good, and then I found out it's written by the same author of Debut or Die... so it makes sense.

I don't often find KR novels on the horror Infinite Flow genre so I was a bit nervous about reading this... oh my god, it's so good.

Perfectly suits my infinite flow tastes.

The instances and the way how the MC handles them is very 'out of the box', which I like. There is something to be said about how Mary Sue he is/Gary Stu,... more>> but at the same time, I don't really mind because it's done in a way that you still see his flaws. He makes his flaws very apparent, but it still works.

The stories aren't SOO scary where I'm unable to sleep but this is still horror genre. Scariness maybe I rate 6/10? Max 6/10, considering the inner monologue of the character is so funny.

I absolutely love the world building, that being said. I wasn't really feeling it in the verrrry beginning, but by chapter 65 I'm fully into the groove of things and I love it.

Personality of the MC and the characters around him.... all I can say is that I can't way to see what happens next. I was a little disappointed there's no romance QQ... I'm still holding out aha but it's pretty unlikely now that I know the author also wrote Debut or Die. <<less

First, I’d like to highlight how surprised I was to eventually discover, while reading, that this novel has actually been extremely popular for quite some time. And I’m not exaggerating when I say extremely—it really is extremely popular. I only realized this when I started seeing readers of the novel commenting on fan art, and I got curious to see what they were like. That's when I stumbled upon tons of beautifully made art featuring the novel's cast. I guess it was to be expected—SCP is still the most well-known... more>> creepypasta out there, and this novel is heavily inspired by SCP. If anything, the novel could have even more appeal if it featured anthropomorphic characters to cater to the furry audience, though wait—there are at least two characters who are part animal... Anyway, it's a great novel. I think the highlight is the author’s writing, which is fluid. At no point did I feel tired while reading, and I marathoned everything available. The flow and pacing keep the reader engaged the entire time. The premise itself isn’t anything we haven’t seen in thousands of other works—it's pretty cliché, but it’s a well-done cliché, so it’s all good. I highly recommend reading it! <<less

This is a good novel and you should give it a try. The solution to the mysteries were unpredictable yet makes sense. In other word, author successfully explained the mysteries in a way that doesn’t create a plot hole.

I can be wrong but I feel mc’s character development is almost non-existent, he is still the same guy that innerly scared of everything but doesn’t show it which isn’t a bad thing by itself

Spoiler

the thing that I get from MC is he visually scared of terrifying/disturbing scenes and creature, while doesn’t really scared of the idea behind of them. Since if he does scared of it he wouldn’t read the creepy pasta story to begin with.

If this is true then he would get used to the work after a few months of working.

To be honest, I wasn't really interested in this story after reading the description, but I still gave it a try for some reason, and THANK GOD I did! It's very enjoyable and might be my favourite novel of all time! Seriously!

I've always found ghost stories, creepy pastas and horror concepts fascinating but I could never fully enjoy them because of their dark nature... What I like about this novel is that it still has the horror concept, but makes it FUN. Combining the creative creepy pasta scenarios with the... more>> hype of a transmigration story, funny misunderstandings and lovable characters was absolutely genius!

Here's a few points that could interest you in reading this story:

 • The pace is good and the plot doesn't feel repetitive. A LOT of things happen, so you don't have to worry about getting bored
 • The plot is very creative, and the items used by MC seem to come straight out of a kid's fever dream, giving the story a liminal feel to it which makes picturing it in your head as you read very fun!
 • I mentioned lovable characters earlier and I want to emphasise just how enjoyable they are. Sometimes a certain character appears and you just KNOW something funny, tragic or ridiculous will happen. It's exciting!
 • The balance between serious themes and goofy misunderstandings is very good! I really wasn't expecting to feel genuinely anxious going into this, but maaan if you ever had a toxic relationship (romantic or not) you could feel heavy hearted sometimes. I felt happy, and I felt scared, like I myself was a victim of that relationship. Because I, too, grew too attached to something dangerous.... But it's all good now! :D... kinda!
Anyways.... Absolutely fantastic read! 10/10 <<less

Excellent novel. It has a near perfect rating for a reason. There's almost nothing to complain about. The SCPs are used so well to create a gripping, connected world that leaves you convinced in investing your time in the novel. It's clear that the settings were very well-planned for the most part. This book is amazing. It's a good read with plenty of thriller elements but also a couple of comedic moments. The characters are well-written, and the plot is interesting and new. I totally recommend this book to anyone who likes escape game novels and the like.

Also, quick question, does anyone know a website to read past Ch 185? I don't mind if you have to pay to read them. However, I would prefer a free website. Machine translated websites are also good! ≪3

With the way the MC is acting, it won't be long before he becomes the CEO. It's a horror thriller novel so if you're faint of heart this story might not be for you, however, it's not that descriptive in the horror elements. The story building is well-done and the scenarios are genuinely terrifying but maybe due to the MC it never gets super descriptive.

The MC, Kim, is a regular person who was transmitted into a world filled with horrifying supernatural events. In MC's world, it's a creepypasta with a... more>> large fanbase. In this world, there are supernatural events that ordinary people get trapped in all the time. There's a company (forgot the name) that is tasked with handling the supernatural. MC unfortunately became a member of this company and was assigned to the worst department which is known to have high casualties (They're the field team that investigates the supernatural).

Thats all I'll say about the plot but MC is a genius. Even though he has a cheat that allows him to know every single supernatural event and how to beat it he's still a genius. Even with a cheat the average person would not be able to implement it like Kim can. The only problem is he's a scary cat and can't handle the horror. Leading him to speedrun every scenario he gets into. However, the author doesn't show him in fear. He'll say he's afraid and scared but then he'll lead his team to safety and will come up with the craziest idea to get out.

For example, when looking at a dead body to look just like him he won't react, just an inner text in 1st person saying how he almost passed out. It is also used in a way to justify his saving his coworkers. An example, "He had to save Viper because he's too scared to venture into the mansion by himself!" He doesn't like Viper nor does he need him (I like Viper tho lol). He has ventured into a horror zone by himself before. He'll purposely save as many people as he can, which is a good trait to have as the MC but they justify it using his cowardly act.

Kim is a Mary Sue. Everything he does is right, he's noble, everyone likes him, OP, in less than 60 days of working at the company the number 1 elite team wants to recruit him, etc. However, the story and world-building are so well done mixed with how funny Kim is that it's not annoying. The only issue is there are no real stakes. You know that Kim is going to live, the author never kills any of the main side characters (only one-off characters that mess with Kim), and in 3-4 chapters he immediately knows how to solve the case.

I still love the story but in a horror story where it's always stating that a lot of people die and then no one dies it kinda gets boring after a while. Your only really stay to see Kim bullsh*t his way out of each situation. <<less

Basically if you took My House Of Horror and shoved it into the SCP universe and mix the two with them. I just want it to be clear that I am unsure if the author took inspiration from the two but they are just so similar so I have to make the comparison. This is not hate, I just love these types of stories/literatures and I love this novel.

Spoiler

Spoiler for my house of horror, but basically the main character of that story, goes around doing spirit appeasement, settling a ghost's regret or grudge. That or he captures them. It's not so simple of purifying or exorcising them, each ghost have like a specific set of rules that must be followed in order pacify it.

I am not sure if they based this novel off that but the "Ghost Stories" in this series follow the same logic where each anomaly has a set of rules it must follow and the main character finds loopholes or do a case of r/maliciouscompliance. In both series, the main character uses mostly their brain and the tools they get (magic items~wow~) in order to survive. Although thats kinda where the similarities end. In this series, our main character is just trying to survive and is a coward (his own words) and gets misunderstood as a psychopath due to the insane stuff he pulls. The main character of My House Of Horror on the other hand is actually insane. (How do you lug around a bloody hammer with spikes that looks like it was made of a human spine and not expect people to get scared??? And he uses said-hammer to threaten ghosts, not even people, most of the time)

[collapse]

The elements from SCP that I want to compare is basically the way the "Ghost Stories" work, such as having ranks and how dangerous they are based on those ranks. How they are contain, how there are organizations that control and contain these stuff. The reason why I have to compare it to SCP is because our main character is basically if some guy in the real world, fell into the SCP universe, where they get to keep a phone will all entries of each SCP. Thats basically the story of this novel. The way they built each "Ghost Stories" is similar to the way each SCP is logged and created, how the internet came together to basically create what we know as the SCP community.

The reason why I say this novel is a combination of the two is because our main character doesn't just clear each anomaly in his own unique way, but its also how he treats some of the more sentient beings. Such as being kind to some of the monsters that basically want to kill him, where said-kindness leads him to be rewarded most of the time, very similar to the way spirit appeasement works in My House Of Horror. <<less

All I have to say about this novel... oh my god. As a horror fan, I was drawn to this novel after seeing it gain popularity. It turned out to be more comedy than horror, even so it really reminded me of the SCP Foundation, and I absolutely love the unique concept.

What kept me hooked were the instances and their solutions. The creativity behind them is incredible, I couldn't wait to see what would happen next (still cant). Plus the characters are unforgettable. No one feels insignificant.

The main character, Kim... more>> Soleum, is a coward who ends up in a fictional world full of anomalies. To get a ticket back home he has to work at Daydream Inc. Due to him being a sacredly cat he speedruns ghost stories using his past knowledge as an advantage.

Chapter 119 spoilers:

One of the coolest utilizations of unreliable narrator I've read..! The characters really grew on me, and how the mean guy is kept around and harassed by the MC is entertaining. The situations are creative with good world building- the author really knows how to paint a scene.

How MC goes about solving the stories... hmmm. The solution is always kinda random since it's all from his insider knowledge, so it's fine as long as you don't expect things to be solved through clues and logic lol. Kind of just always... more>> waiting for the other shoe to drop.

It took me a few attempts to get into it ngl- it wasn't until I skipped past the amusement park and that the novel maintained my interest. <<less

This novel is so good that I am waiting for part 2!! It suites my taste and I know it would for other tcf fans as well. There is zero romance and the plot is quite interesting. Even though I am not a fan of horror (In fact, I am as scared as MC ;;;) but it is bearable like MC said "horrors are fine in text" lmao.

The storyline and the flow is flawless and not boring at all. Every arc is very unique and I can't stop reading for... more>> new chapters.

MC has a likely personality. He may seem indifferent to everything, but he has a good personality and has some morality left even though he is in a horror story. He is quite intelligent and has fast judgemental and problem solving skills. (That's why everyone want to recurite him lmao. Very capable with solving ghost stories even though he is scared) My favourite arc is the train arc which MC lead everyone and end the ghost story with 0 deaths.

In addition, the characters here are likeable, especially MC and the team leader Lee Ja-heon. (I just love that lizard allien so much T_T. He is always there whenever MC needs help, and his behavior and interaction with MC is also hilarious). Brown is interesting too although he has somewhat obsessive personality with his career *Ahem.

Spoiler

He kidnapped MC to force him work for his studio and kinda brainwashed him. But who cares, he is a ghost and cannot think like a normal human. And they later make up.

[collapse]

Another person I liked is the guy from the Supernatural Disaster Management Bureau. (Called Agent Choi). He has such a refreshing personality and I feel like he will be an important character in the future and play a big role to help MC.

Spoiler

To support him finding a new 'home'. I kinda pity MC because he finally gets a wish ticket but everything went wrong and is now underand a s*ave contract with the director from the company. (Like Cale, MC here never get the peaceful life he wants. Give Kim Sol-eum and Cale a break!!)

For now, I am just waiting for more chapters about how everything would turn out. <<less

WOW.

If you are a new reader or have not started reading yet, I will put a ⚠️ for you to start reading a review specific to you.

This comment contains spoilers, I don't know how to use the spoiler function.

... more>> I sincerely strongly recommend not continuing reading after the reconciliation of Soleum and Brown, and it is better for the hiatus in the story to end.

Seriously, if you have a sensitive mind, you'd better wait for the author to write the second part again.

Things get a little sad after their reconciliation.

Now it's just going to be a rant.

I'm a little sad for Kim soleum, the poor baby is suffering 😢.

His mental breakdown was very noticeable throughout the story and I'm still worried about the consequences of the ending of part 1.

That said, the author is doing a great job writing, both the worldbuilding and the characters are extraordinary.

I miss the time when I read with a smile instead of a worried frown.😭

⚠️⚠️⚠️

So, to begin with, the story is fun to read and captivating, the characters, the world, everything is captivating.

Each chapter makes me want the next one and keeps me anxious for the update, seriously, I keep counting the hours and minutes to know when I can read the new chapters.

The hiatus is going to be torture.

Well, continuing, so you have an idea, hints were given in part one about the plot that no one had noticed and that only became noticeable to us readers at the end of the arc.

Every little detail is thought out with deliberate care.

Start reading and you will fall in love, it is fun and leaves you wanting more.

When you finish reading, you will try to find other stories like this one and you won't be able to find them, because NONE are as good as this one.

Oh, one tip, don't read in the dark. <<less

A good SCP novel.

Without parroting what everyone else has probably said, I'd just like to write down my complaints.

1. I don't know what it is about the pacing or the arcs or the environment, but everything feels a bit distant and disconnected. Like the 'character in a white room' effect.

2. This doesn't belong in the horror genre, but instead only a thriller. While I read this webnovel I noticed it only felt like a horror for the MC, while I the reader watched him freak out- sort of disconnected from... more>> what the MC was experiencing and what I was reading. The author simply doesn't know how to write horror, alongside the fact that Kim Soleum's cheat basically allows him to be the Kim Dokja of his verse- you can see why the horror part of this webnovel does not work very well.

I'm not saying you shouldn't read this webnovel-it's pretty good-but when you start it you shouldn't expect much from the horror tag. (I just want faster Ghost Story Club updates) <<less

It's the first time I willingly read a horror base webnovels and absolutely love it!

At first, I don't really had a high expectations. I read this simply because I love the author's other work and wanted to know if their other work had the same story. Imagined my surprise when they're in a different genre.

I love the Kim Soleum, MC, because he's relatable. He's a coward who's doing his best to survive in a world full of creepypasta/urban legends so that he could go back to his original world.

His cowardice... more>> is actually the driving force that made his brain came up with the solution that people in the story hasn't thought. Yes, he had an advantage being a reader of the story, but he's also smart and clever in relying in the information that he had.

And the best part is, he's a really good actor.

He's so convincing even when he's just bullshiting through a 'logical' route that not even his brutal superiors could deny. He could start a cult and I know many people would follow him. He put into personas In front of people that he categorized. In front of mad people, he put on even madder persona. In front of his colleagues he put on the cold reliable rookie. And in front of the agents from government, he put on an act of pitiful person who suffers trauma from ghost stories. I love them all.

I also love the side characters. Their personalities are colorful and not boring in the purpose to better the MC. Well, of course some of them are tr*sh, but even with their tr*shy personality I cannot fully hate them because they are the one that made the story interesting too. Like my favorite, Baek Saheon.

The novel is still ongoing, and I'm so waiting on the backstory of his company. There's already a theory that formed about this ghost story world and his original world, but that's just a theory from the readers. And also there's a tiny bit of backstory about most of the higher-ups in the company. It's so interesting I cannot wait to know. Especially about Chief Lee Jaheon. <<less
