Set in a world where the Great Ming Dynasty still stood tall and mighty, overseeing its vast expanse of land…

Having witnessed the end of the Jingnan campaign, Jiang Xinghuo, a transmigrator marked for the “Execution of the Ten Clans,” finally let out a sigh of relief. As a transmigrator, he is needed to transmigrate nine times before he can return to his era and attain the Dao of immortality.

As the time neared for his so-called execution, Jiang Xinghuo, feeling he was on the brink of great success, grew bored in the prison cell and decided to give lectures to his fellow prisoners. However, just as he was about to succeed, fate seemed to play joke on him as things took an unexpected turn…

Follow the adventures of Jiang Xinghuo, the advisor of the imperial state, as he guides the empire to its heyday.

The story started off engaging, but after a while, it felt like reading a Wikipedia entry.
Spoiler

The protagonist spends most of his time in prison giving lessons that feel like the author copy pasted theories from science, humanities and social studies books. Beyond that, he doesn't do much. He claims his ultimate goal is "world peace and an end to suffering, " yet he suggest wiping out any ethnic group that refuses to submit to the Ming dynasty. While it's understandable that medieval characters might admire such ideas, it's harder to accept that those ideas are from someone who was originally born in a modern era with contemporary values. It felt less like he was reincarnated and more like he was simply born in that period with knowledge from the future. There is too much adulation for the Ming Dinasty to my taste.

[collapse]

If you like this kind of story where the protagonist goes back in time, I advise you to read Black Corporation: Joseon. It's a much better novel.
